I’m going to be honest here and say that I only purchased this bra as an experiment. Well...experiment isn’t *quite* the right word, but in essence, I purchased this because it was within my price range, and the measurements closely matched the 65F Mp Kleksik that lcl0706 had previously (graciously) sent to me to try (as I’d never had/tried EM until the Kleksik I tried) but it wasn’t really a style that I was actually interested in. It’s not something that I’d have seen on website and said, “what do I have to sell to get this?!” or know that I had to have. But, I ...really wanted to actually own an Ewa Michalak bra, and the price and measurements overruled my style preference as I mentioned. Let’s just say that I GOT THIS BRA FOR SCIENCE! Ha ha!
Before we go on with the review...my boobs: narrowish and tallish (but deflated and functionally short) roots, even to FOB, center full, soft and malleable tissue, and pendulous. I need depth at the wire, but only average apex projection. Thanks, pudding boobs! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
Since I got it, I have to say...it’s grown on me quite a lot now, and I really love it! I felt odd, at first, that I was able to do it up without needing to use an extender right away, as I had had to do with the bras that I had received before it. It felt positively loose by comparison! I’m comfortable with it on the loosest hooks, but sometimes move it in one. As for the fit, as it’s a plunge, I have a little empty space near the straps which is super minor, and as I am center full, I do spill a little bit at the lower gore, moreso just before my period when I swell up more. Neither are a dealbreaker, considering the cleavage, errr...I mean the SHAPE that the bra gives me. Nice and uplifting, as well as rounded. And sexy.
Aesthetically, I have a few quibbles. First off, the ruffles at the edge of the cups show through some tops/clothes so I have to be mindful of what I wear over top. Second, the bow is comically huge. I’m fine with big bows. This one is ridiculous. It’s also somewhat ticklish and/or itchy. It’s ok if the shirt is snug enough to stop it from moving, but if it’s too loose, I tuck the tails under the gore. I’m toying with trimming the tails some. The other problem is that the bow really wants be vertical. It’s constantly flipping sideways. I’m constantly trying to straighten it. I’ve considered seeking an opinion from a seamstress if anything can be done without changing the look of the bra. Anyway, minor issues as I said. I’m happy to say though, that I have found a pair of underwear locally that is a really good match! So I’m really liking this set when I’m wearing the right kind of top. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" />
I usually wear a 30JJ, and I found this a better fit in a 30K than my other two PLs of the same size (Black, Czerwona Panterka), but it still isn't a good fit. It is definitely tight in the band, I think due to the lace continuing onto the band - I could have perhaps used a 32 in this style, but the 30 is workable and will last longer. As with my other PLs, I thought it was slightly too large in the cup, but it is in fact too small. I've had it for a while and thought it fits, but have realised that I've ...been wearing it with the straps completely loosened because it's so tall at the underarms. The underarms/straps dig in terribly on my narrow shoulders when tightened, I can't actually tighten them to where I would need them. The cups are 1-2 sizes small, which was hidden by me wearing with the straps loosened.
It is made with a slightly stiffer material than my other two PLs, I think due to the lace overlay. I found my other two PLs to give a low apex and slightly saggy look (due to loose straps), but the stiffer material means that the construction and uplift are somewhat better in this bra. The wires are similarly narrow, but the cups are much lower under the arm than my other PLs. All in all, this is the best fit out of my PLs, mostly due to the material. But, it runs smaller than the other two, and I would likely need a 30L for it to fit properly after altering the straps/armholes.
The band has also held up well: I've owned this bra for about half a year now, and the band now stretches to about 30.5 inches, so it's still quite firm, though I haven't really worn it much due to it being too small. Read more 209 more words
And again one of Ewas soft bands which I wear without extender. As all of her plunge cuts good for my FOB breasts, but a little bit more covering than her usual bras. The material is very soft, this bra is really comfy. I miss this soft feeling for most of Ewas bras.
This is probably my best fitting bra so far. Wires are almost right but probably an inch of empty areas in the outer halves of the cups. The band is good and fits like a 28 rather than a true UK 30. I get very slight gaps near the top because the bra expects a bit more fullness there than I have and there is borderline not enough room near the centre gore (I have very centre-full breasts).
30F/FF narrow and tall roots, projected, full on top
I bought this brand new and the band is definitely too tight for my 29 in ribcage. I need to use an extender to determine how the cups fit because otherwise the tight band would distort the cups too much. Overall my breasts filled out the cups but I think the wires were still a bit too wide. Not so wide that it would be unwearable but I probably won't be getting many plunge models from EM. It did give a nice little bit of cleavage that I liked. The ruffle at the top of the cups was rather annoying though.
The Pl Carmen is very different from all the other Pl's I've tried. First of all, the ruffles on the top edge of the cup makes it VERY closed. It cuts into my boobs/squishes it flat in that area, but doesn't really show through my shirt because the ruffles sort of divert that ?? Secondly, the band is uber tight. Many of the Pl's and Ewas I've tried generally run about 0-1 bands tight in relation to 30 = 30 inches, not 65 = 65 cms. I feel like this bra is more of a band size between 60 (for 60 cm) and 65. It runs tighter than all of the 65 Ewa's I've tried... and consequently I will not have to alter the band to fit my ribcage.
Gorgeous bra, I love it. When I first saw it, taking it out of the box, the colors seemed rather bright, but when I put it on, gorgeous! The band is tight for a 65 band, which was great for me because otherwise I would have altered it to a 60 myself. I can wear it comfortably on the last set of hooks. The gore is quite high, so I will have to alter that someday soon (it pokes and it gives less support because it can't be yanked up to my inframmary fold). Have to wear it with some padding and that will work just fine for now.
EDIT: after replacing the underwires with thinner ones, it turned out the gore wasn't too high. The whole poking issue was just because of the really thick, sturdy underwires that are used for this size.
Runs tighter than UK 30E. 70DD would have been a better choice in my case - I don't like my bands too tight. I have to use an extender and I hope it will widen up over time. Apart from that, the cups provide good coverage and comfort. The fabric feels a bit scratchy, but only on the outside, so it's not noticable while wearing.
It has two removable pads for asymmetry correction or extra cleavage.
