The fit is strange. It's quite tall for a 28D, almost fits like a 28DD with ridiculously short wires. Allows for projection quite well though. Would recommend sizing down from your regular size. Like a bralette with just underbreast support. Band is snug for 28. Would suit tall roots or center and upper fullness breasts. Which is something I notice with CK bras. It's a pretty bra. Overall, pretty good.

Edit- after wearing it around for a bit, despite the ridiculous style, pretty damn comfy! Like wearing a bralette.

This bra is a game-changer for me. It is currently the only bra that fits. My only complaint is I wish the straps were a bit less uncomfortable. The adjustment piece of the straps indents my skin and is quite uncomfortable when I lean back against a hard surface (such as a chair). Also, the place where the strap connects to the band is a bit uncomfortable for me for some reason. HOWEVER, this is my first time wearing a bra that actually fits and the first time wearing a non-sports bra in quite some time. I'm sure my skin/body will get used to it.

Edit: after wearing for some time, my ribs started to hurt in certain areas and when sitting, even though the band is not too tight or loose, the band gets pushed lower than my IMF. Overall, my body has not been able to get used to this bra. Changing comfort from good to meh. Debating whether I have rib flares or if my muscles make bras hurt me so much.

This doesn't fit. It doesn't quiiiite lie flat at the gore, the wire covers some breast tissue at the side, and the top of the cups gape at the sides. For reference I am, I think, wide rooted, close set, centre full and projected and it's just all wrong.

Nevertheless it's surprisingly comfortable, at least for the time spent in a hot tub. The visible fit issues are camouflaged by the gauzy wrap which encourages it to conform to my breast at the sides and covers the cup wrinkling at the bottom. The wire that is juuuust sitting on my breast tissue under my arm doesn't press in so much when supported by the top of the cup fitting closer once wrapped with the scarf. I can tolerate it for a few hours.

My husband likes it and was willing to pay for a bikini that I refused to buy full-price due to the poor fit. I will not be looking into the luxe strapless bra this is based on for a daytime bra.

    Didn't fit

This is the first seamed bra I’ve found that works for my shape and first style by Curvy Kate I’ve tried. It’s still padded, but up until now I’ve only worn the Freya Deco which was the closest fit I found after striking out on a lot of seamed, unlined styles. I’m now sized out of the Deco since I quad badly in my 32GG and 34GG is too loose in the band and too shallow/tall in the cups due to the awkward size scaling.

The three vertical seams here give me a nice uplifted, rounded shape thats new to me in a seamed bra. It is a ... bit on the shallow side but it has just enough immediate projection to work for me since I have pretty soft tissue. I usually get a pointy torpedo look in bras with diagonal or horizontal seams and wrinkling elsewhere due to shape mismatch so it’s nice to find one I like with only vertical seams. I also have trouble finding cups that aren’t too tall and I like how this is more open on top since I’m pretty FOT shape wise.

The band is nice and firm, I prefer a more snug band and measure right in between a 32 and 34 but I usually size down since I have a lot of squish to my ribcage. You may want to size up if you’re used to brands that run larger and stretchy in the band like Elomi and Freya. I’m also right between H/HH with a bit of asymmetry and decided to go with the smaller size here since I was afraid the HH would gap too much on my smaller side. There’s slight quadding on my larger side but loosening the strap helps and I think as I break it in it’ll stretch with wear and mold to my shape better. It definitely lives up to its name of Boost Me Up, I’m almost getting a cakes on a plate effect which is nice since I’m wide set and basically NEVER get any cleavage, even in a Deco a size or two too small.

Overall I love this bra, it’s exactly my style and what I’ve been looking for since I began the journey finding a bra that fits. I like my bras to be basic black without being overly feminine. I don’t need fancy prints, frills, lace, or bright colors and I hate bows. I love the little silver ring detail at the gore instead of a bow and the matching silver rings on the straps since black and silver are my favorites colors. I wish the hook and eyes were silver too but that’s a minor detail easy to overlook or replace on my own eventually. Time will tell how well it holds up, but since this seems to be a newer model by Curvy Kate I’m hopeful it won’t be discontinued any time soon since I plan to get at least one more to have as a backup.

This is the 32HH - Curvy Kate » Delightfull Full Cup Bra (1111) in a 32HH. I sized down from my sister size of 34GG as I like my bands very tight and am losing weight. The band doesn’t feel tight at all! This bra is very stretchy. This bra makes my boobs look amazing under clothes, a very beautiful lift and separation, and I will buy more bras in this style.

From the side view it looks as though the wires are so wide on you. I mean, as long as your comfortable, that's the important thing though. It really is a gorgeous color.

    • Just popping in to say thank you for including measurements! We seem to be pretty similar and I just tried this on in 32H but the cups were obviously at least a size small, I wasn't quite sure but comparing measurements it really seems like the 32HH would be the better fit. It might be that I tried a darker colourway combined with the cups being a bit small, but this style in black definitely runs TTS, it might even be a tad small band wise.

I really love the look of this Curvy Kate Balconette and wanted to love it but the fit is just not a match for me. I need WAY more immediate projection, so it should be good for someone more shallow. And that might bring the seams up enough to cover someone's nipples, too, just not mine. The quadboob + wrinkling was also surprising for me. So this one just isn't for me.

This band runs a little tight (which is good for me as I usually prefer a 28 band). This bra is surprisingly comfortable and supportive for such an insubstantial looking bra. I am not convinced that it would be especially supportive for much larger breasts but I find it super comfortable. I was expecting to find the center gore too narrow and high but I love this!

    Didn't fit

Didn't see much on Internet about this bra, but I liked the design of this bra so badly, that I ordered 32F, which is supposed to be my sister size (usually I am 30FF in UK sizing). Unfortunately, the cup is really shallow and makes quad boob effect even on my smaller breast.
The gore is perfect, low and nicely designed. The lower part of gore was lying nicely flat, but upper part did not lie - I think it was caused by too small cups though.

Also, lace feels a bit itchy sometimes - I think it might be an important information for those of us with sensitive ... skin.

The thing I learned from this bra is that 32 bands are not for me - I did not feel this support, which I get from 30 band bras. So, bye bye sister size 32F! (I have Freya Firefly bikini in 32F though, and it's not that bad).

Sadly I am returning this one. I think even my usual 30FF would be too small, maybe 30G? 30GG? Because even my trusty old Freya Polyanna in 30F has deeper cups.
I think I am just adding this to convince myself that I actually should return this bra (did I mention, how I love the design?)...

Me: Average projection. Fuller on bottom. Slightly wider left breast (I suspect this breast is also 1-2 ml taller than my other breast). Usually wear 28DD or 30D.

One of my recommended bras. I bought 30D (my measured size) and 30DD (the recommended bra from Bratabase) because they were on sale (both under $10 each!). 30D gave me slight quad boob but wasn't really noticeable under shirts. Also, the bra lining didn't show under shirts.
30DD removed most of the quad boob but the lining of the bra on the right cup can be seem through shirts. I see wrinkles in the pictures, so there'e a bit of empty ... space on my right breast cup. My right breast is slightly more narrow, which is why the right cup reveals the lining under shirts. I might end up selling the 30DD.

For both bras, the headlights show a bit in thin shirts when it's cold. They're not too itchy and they don't dig in my sides. If my breasts were exactly the same shape, the 30D bra would be a 10 out of 10 for me. I guess I like both bras for different reasons.

  11. Luxe Strapless Bra (CK2601)

    2
    like

    30E

    Didn't fit

I have always been curious about this strapless bra, and I also need one recently after purchasing a really cute off-shoulder sweater. This bra seems to be available for usually £34-35 on several online retailers, but was on sale on Asos so I only paid about $27 for it, and only had to buy an extra dress (about $10) to enjoy free shipping. I had done a lot of research on this bra and while most reviews said that it's narrow, there was different opinion regarding its projection level and top fullness friendliness.

I will first comment on the appearance. I'm probably biased because I hate beige bras with ... a passion, lol. I really wanted a white (instead of black) strapless bra to wear under lighter clothes but only this color comes in 30E on Asos. Not surprisingly, I hate the appearance of this bra. It also looks like a half-finished piece because there is no extra fabric on top of the foam seamed cups. Still, I guess if this fits I would've kept it because a strapless bra is supposed to work more than look good.

My usual size is 28F(UK) and I've ordered a 30E because my previous experience with the Freya Deco Strapless was that the band was incredibly tight. The band does run snug on this one, at 29" stretched, so a 28 would be too tight on me.

My shape is projected, fuller on top and centre with tall and narrow roots, extremely close and low set with self-supporting and soft tissue. The first thing I noticed when putting on this bra was the extreme pain at the top of the wires under my armpit. I have narrow roots and have never had discomfort at this part of the wire, but this bra does this on me, probably because the wires are too narrow, even for my narrow roots. I also seem to be overflowing and gaping at the same time - when I put my arms down I have spillage near my armpits on both sides, but the cups gaps on my larger boob. I guess this means the cups are too shallow, especially for my larger side? I expected it to cut into my tall roots, but surprisingly the cups are open on top enough to contain my top fullness. The gore is was too high and wide for my centre-full and close-set breasts, so it creates a lot of discomfort and smooshes the centre of my breasts flat. So basically, nothing fits, my boobs aren't supported, and I will return this bra (thanks Asos for free returns!)

To conclude, I think this bra is moderately projected, but probably have more projection at the apex than near the wires. The wires are extremely narrow and the cups are pretty tall and open on top. The band is snug so consider sizing up.

Whew, this bra looked SO much better in the promo pics... It looks unfinished for sure and that stitching looks so bulky. Can't believe I was thinking about buying it as a T-shirt bra without looking up the photos on BTB.
I hope you'll find a better strapless bra soon!

    • Orange_Kate So I'm not that biased about the appearance just because I hate beige! Haha. I believe there is some boning along the seam of the cups to make it more projected than an average strapless bra. So it will definitely show under a T-Shirt. I'm considering a EM Mleczny Strapless in 70DD. Or I might just go purchase a 34D from Aerie and shorten the band myself!

This bra fit much better in the band than the 40JJ - Curvy Kate » Curvy Kate Delightfull Full Cup Bra (FT972D I tried and the wires felt good but there was way way too much fabric on the top side of the bra under the armpit, and not enough up front. The wires were the right size on this one and came up high enough where the rubber bumper to protect digging in worked. It was close to being good but I would have needed a 46GG and then to have taken a dart of about 2 inches of material out at the armpit to make it work. So close.

  13. Superplunge Lace (CK014107)

I've been eagerly awaiting this bra since I saw it was coming out. Curvy Kate are one of my favourite brands and I'm so pleased that they've finally released something new in 28 bands! I can't remember the last time I wore a bra with a gore this low but still felt supported and didn't fall out - it is incredible. The cups are foam lined but not padded, yet still give an amazing deep cleavage and rounded, lifted shape. The band is very snug fitting, almost painful the first time I wore it, but it eased up after a wash and a couple more wears and now ... fits comfortably firm. The depth and width of the cups feels great, the only downside is that they don't seem to have enough projection for me in the very bottom of the cup and I find the wires slip down a little during the day, most noticeably when I've been hunched over my desk all day at work - not so much when I've been walking around most of the day. Overall I'm thrilled to be able to wear ultra-deep v-necks and get great shape in them without a bra peeking over the neckline!

Well, this is labeled a 28 and obviously CK doesn't sell 26s (and not that many 28s either), but it measures to a pretty TTS 26. I'm not sure if it's the same in all colors or just this funky neon green, but this bra might be a great find for someone who really needs 26s but doesn't want the expense of going Polish or custom. It's actually VERY tight on me and I'm not sure if I'll keep it, but if it stretches out it'll probably be fine. It also definitely runs a full cup size small.

My review of my previous attempt at this bra (in 28FF) ... talks about the design a lot, but again: I love the detail of part of the band being mesh and the button on the gore also having little polka dots. This green isn't as neon as it could be since it's kind of pastel, but it certainly is bright and will show under shirts. I really enjoy the wider straps, which are very comfy. The cups are very closed on top -- I have even vertical fullness and the cup cut into my larger side just a little, so I'd stay away if you're FOT.

If the band wasn't so tight, I think I'd really love this bra. It's fun with unique details and gives a lifted appearance. Tricky sizing though!

Props to cupandahalf! On the strength of her fantastic review, I added Poppy on an impulse to my order, and I'm so glad I did! It comes very, very close to what I was seeking: a bra with the same shape as CK Ellace, but more supportive. Poppy is just about there, and is so beautiful, to boot!

The fabric is what gives Poppy the edge over Ellace, I believe. The bottom cups, with a truly stunning deep, rich red and black pattern, are a firm, smooth fabric that doesn't have too much give. The uppers are well-matched black floral non-stretch lace that, unlike Ellace's, ... is not prone to causing in-cup quadding.

As a short woman with a short waist and short breast root, I have had difficulty finding underwires that match my IMF. Most are an inch or more too high, contributing to the challenge of keeping bras from sliding down. So I highly appreciate the low height of many Curvy Kate wires! Poppy's wires are 4.5" tall, about 1/2" more than my ideal, but a great improvement over, say, the 5.25" height of my 34J Elomi Morgan wires. Not surprisingly then, Poppy does a much better, albeit not perfect, job of staying up in place.

If the bras I have tested are true to form, it seems that Curvy Kate's weakness is... well... weakness. The bras just aren't that strong. I find the wires on Poppy to be a little too light-weight. They're comfortable, but a bit over-flexible for my heavy breasts. Wearing over the course of a day, I do have to occasionally adjust the wires, cups, or band, but it stays nice and comfortable throughout. Poppy has a lovely shape under light-weight fabrics, but it seems heavy fabrics tend to push it down a bit, flattening out the perky little curve it produces when unfettered. This is also evident in the support department. Although it is definitely more supportive than Ellace, it is still bouncier than my Elomis or Panaches. But overall its charms well outweigh any deficits, and it will find a happy home in my daily rotation.

      Looks great on you!

    • Thanks! All of your reviews are helpful! What do you use to replace the straps?

    • 1

Other straps from old bras. I like Elomi straps the best. I just take them off at the front of the cup and remove the stitching around the ring at the back, then do the same with the other bra and stitch it all back together again. .

So I actually love this suit. It’s weird because it technically should not fit me- the cup is too small on paper. But because the cup is stretchy it works! The only problem I don’t like is the seams at the mesh cutouts in the body cut in a bit making me look a bit like a trussed ham. My husband is not a great fan so this one is going back, but I might get it in red for swimming laps. It feels like it would be very supportive for that.

Cups are double-lined, bra is normal set in to the body. The straps are multi-way and can be worn crossed in the back. They are not too wide. There is a very comfortable flexible boning in the side to keep the weight from being too much on the neck. The only real issue is that the wires are shorter than the wire channels, making a slight sag at the side.

All in all a very comfy well thought out single seam cupped suit.

Quick little Bravissimo order because it was on sale for $19, and matching quick little review because it’s 2am. Wow, is this band tight. The tightness comes not as much from the actual length of the band as the fact that it barely stretches three and a half inches before the wires begin to distort, and the band length is only originally like 21.9in (can’t remember exactly), so this is for sure effectively a 26 band and might even be able to suit a 24. Though I’m a 26 band, I wouldn’t have been able to breathe with this bra fastened without the extender I put on it ... to try it on.

Other than the ultra tiny band, this is too small in the cup. This bra actually does a great job of illustrating something I didn’t realize for awhile, which is that a too-small cup can make it SEEM like the gore is too wide for your breasts, when in fact the gore just has no room because there’s too much boob there. This makes a lot of sense to me now because I’m so not close-set as to be almost splayed, but I totally didn’t understand this concept at the beginning of my bra journey when most of the bras I was trying on were small in the cup and I just chalked the gore pressing on my tissue up to it being too wide.

I got the green/white color (Pear something...?) and it’s adorable! I really love the tiny button on the top of the gore and the fact that it itself has polka dots too. The straps measure to just over 0.6 inches in width, but they look wider to me and I think they probably provide a little more support than if they were slimmer. But maybe take that assertion with a grain of salt because I have an actual skin irritation on my shoulder which is partly the fault of my Ewa Michalak M Perłowy, so I have a temporary vendetta against thin straps. This bra may not be the sexiest, but it’s very cutesy and I think it’s really fun. I’ll check if 28G is in stock and then get an exchange as soon as I take pics tomorrow (...today?).

Also, a too tight band can make the cups fit/feel smaller as the cups sort of become a bit of the band and less space for the actual boobs.

    • 3

Calluna very true! From everyone's photos it also looks like this particular bra, below the G-cup cutoff, has a cup design that curves back in towards the body at an unusually closed angle, almost like some of the old Cleos notorious for this short-boob-friendly shape. At G and above the design seems to have been graded a little more generously in this regard but they still use a very very flat (or perhaps simply rigid) upper cup section so anyone whose boob shape cannot conform to that upper cup edge and shape will get really major quadding.
biflexual you're light-years ahead of most people for figuring out the issue of insufficient cup depth (or space allowed by the cup edge) masquerading as a too-wide gore. So many people spend YEARS without realizing this and thus waste a ton of money and effort due to mistakenly thinking they need overlapped gores or ultra-low-gore bras (super plunge styles with an itsy bitsy gore inherently lack the stability that will ensure a comfier fit if a person is heavy-busted, very projected or very center-full).

  18. Diffuse Tankini Top (CS4906)

    Fits

This is the unpadded version of the CK tankinis, I think it's even the only style of their swimwear that they offer without padding... There is the top and then a "regular" mesh bra sewn into the top. The bra itself has a typical CK cut like their balconettes. The straps are full adjustable.

When I received this tankini back in march 2019 the cups were just slightly small for me. The cups are not very tall and a bit shallow at the center, that could be the reason. Now 3 months later it fits me quite well. I do have some slight gaping towards the straps, but nothing too ... noticable. All quadboob is gone and the band feels a bit loose but still okay. (I have not tested it for longer time because Summer only just started here) I think I could also wear a 32JJ in this style of tankini. The band is made of usual bra band "cheap" mesh so it is very stretchy. On the other side I don't like my swimwear to be too tight and constricting. I will update here once I tested it in water.

Some words about appearance: I think the shape could be a bit better. Especially from the sides, I think it doesn't look as uplifted as I would like. Although the tankini top fabric that lays over covers it somewhat. Also a good feature: the top of the bra and the fabric of the swimtop are not sewn together so you can move the fabric a bit upwards for more coverage and move down for more cleavage. I'm glad that this style is made up to K-cup it's a really good option if you don't like extra padding on your swim bras.

Amazon Prime Wardrobe: Swimsuit Edition! (Where I order bras/bikinis available on Amazon Prime Wardrobe to try on and add more data to Bratabase!)
My shape: FOB, projected, soft tissue, narrow shoulders

So here's another case of mistaken identity/mislabeled bra/bikini. Luckily, it's just a try-on bikini, so I'm not out anything but the time it took me to try on/measure/take pictures, which I would have done anyways. This was listed on Amazon as a UK 32G, but I was sent a US 32G, which is several cup sizes too small for me. I don't know if it's because it was listed as a "Junior's" bikini? That would certainly explain how small ... this is in the cup! The label attached and on the bikini says UK 32F, which is more in line with the actual size, so I think there was some miscommunication on the website.
Anyways, this is a well made, pretty cute bikini top! It's got a little ruched/gather effect at the middle of the cups, and the top edge has scalloping, which I personally think adds a little more cuteness factor. The cups themselves are 3 part construction, ((on diagonally horizontal and one vertical) but the outside has an extra layer of fabric so you can't see the seams. It's a nice alternative for someone who likes the fit of bras with seams, but the look of molded cups.
I am really loving how cute the Curvy Kate bikinis are! They have so many different options. I just wish their bras/bikinis fit me.

    • Oh my mandapandarawks we really do get each other!!

I ordered Fantasie bra & panties from Prime this week. Just to see if it could possibly be fantastic (pun intended) enough to be worth the price and/or be an alternative to my beloved Polish brands. Nope. No cigar. I'll post it on the weekend.

Speaking of size conversions: I HATE them with a passion. Please, retailers, stop doing this. Well, actually, I don't care, but please still list or show the sizes as they appear on the manufacturer's tag.

Poor you and your bikini quest...I just wear simple triangle bikini tops. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Thank God. Bras are enough trouble.

I've got four other bikinis I have to measure and review, but yes, none of them worked. I wasn't surprised; it was more of a half-hearted hope that maybe SOMETHING would fit ok, but nothing remotely compares to the Polish bras and how well they fit me.
I agree about the size conversions. It just causes more unnecessary confusion!

Thanks for posting the pics and measurements. The cup depth/width/height seems pretty close to my 32E size and the style looks cute. I might give this style a go if I don't like any that I ordered to try.

I've also been ordering some bikini tops to try (for bra science too and hoping I will eventually like one enough, lol) and it's hard. I wish they wouldn't convert the sizes either, I've made so many mistakes when ordering because of this.

    • mandapandarawks Oh honey, your bikini luck just doesn't end, does it? Sorry and big hugs. 💕
I hope the Peach on the Beach nails it for you. 🍀🍀🍀 You are so overdue for a bikini win!

braluv have you been using Amazon prime Wardrobe to order swimsuits? They have a LOT of them available, though I think they are a little overpriced if you buy through them. I only picked out ones that had underwire and came in my size or sister size, and that only amounted to 5 actual bikinis, lol.

This particular one is pretty cute! I would probably wear it if I could try on my for real size, but since they converted it wrong on Amazon, I don't even know what size I would be sent. They have it for $66, but I'm sure you could find it cheaper on eBay or somewhere else!

    • mandapandarawks I haven’t been using Amazon lately since I had such little luck before and I feel their prices aren’t as competitive sometimes. I have mostly been trying some stuff in store at Target, Nordstrom Rack, and ordering from Bare Necessities (BN) and Target (they have free returns). BN has some great pricing right now and send out coupons all the time, plus they usually have free 2-day shipping. There’s this new style from CK which I think is really nice: https://us.curvykate.com/curvy-kate-wrapsody-black-bandeau-bikini-top They also have this same style as a one-piece which looks really chic and classy.

Victory is one of my favourites for under t-shirts, surprisingly. It gives my boobs a nicely rounded, up-front and slightly separated shape, and doesn't cause necklines of t-shirts to ride up and choke me like moulded t-shirt bras tend to do! It isn't a perfect fit for me in 30FF, but it is good enough and offers good support on the middle to tightest hooks. If it came in 28G, it would be perfect! The wires are a good with for me, and encompass my breast tissue perfectly. I love the sleek, clean-cut lines - no frills or bows, instead a sleek 'V' charm and cut out detail ... to keep it light. The cups are perhaps a little shallow at the bottom, by the end of the day I get a little bit of an 'orange in glass' effect where the wire has dropped slightly and there's a crease in the bottom of the cup, but it doesn't affect the comfort or support - I actually only notice it when I go to take it off. I've had the latte one for a couple of months and black for around a year and a half and both are holding up well with regular wear and washing.
