  1. Basic Plunge Bra (170)

Holy shit I wrote out this entire review and when I went to hit save and have it post to the front page, it timed out and logged me out and I lost the whole review!! Well, here we go again lol. Hopefully I can remember everything I wrote.

Well folks, I think I can finally review this bra, despite having not worn it very much at all (for reasons which will become clear soon). I've been hyping it up enough that you deserve to know all the weirdness that is going on lol.

My boobs: ~26FF/G, narrow and tall roots, even to FOT, enough space between my breasts to ... comfortably wear taller gores.

I got my first Basic in 2018 in 55J with no alterations, and it has been an absolute staple in my wardrobe since then and fits me nearly perfectly (and I love the shape it gives under clothing). My only slight qualms with it have been that with certain outfits, the cups are a little tall (mostly with tank tops), and the straps/armpit show out the side of some sleeveless shirts. So, when I decided to order a backup, I requested for the cups to be reduced by 1cm, and straps to be moved in 1cm. Well, the upper section of the cups were definitely reduced, but with that came an unexpected consequence. I had explicitly not asked for any gore alteration, because I figured it would come as the standard height, which I would've been fine with. But when the cups were reduced, they also rotated the cups outward slightly (imagine the central apex of the cups as the axis), which created a more straight-necklined, balconette shape. Because of this, the gore was inexplicably HEIGHTENED, and the wings were slightly reduced. I checked against my OG Basic, and the wires seem to be the same between both models except for this rotation. Another consequence of this is that despite me asking for the straps to be moved in by 1cm, they are actually positioned wider than my OG Basic. I took a ton of photos comparing this Basic with my OG Basic, which you can see if you come to the full review page. In a lot of these photos, I lined up the wires so you can easily see the difference in gore/bridge height, cup height, wing height, and strap placement. It's really quite fascinating from a patterning/sewing perspective, but as a customer it's really quite annoying lol. Moving forward, it seems clear to me that if you want to maintain the original plunge shape of the bra, you need to request a reduced gore along with the reduced cups to keep the same angle of the neckline.

Practically speaking, because of the change in neckline, this bra is more open on top and gives me more cakes on a plate style cleavage. It also doesn't have as much coverage as my OG Basic, and makes me feel more jiggly and less supported, as if my boobs are sitting on top of a shelf lol. It gives me a pretty pointed, projected shape, which isn't my favourite (or at least certainly not the shape I aimed to get from this particular bra for its particular purpose). Because of all these oddities, I've barely worn this bra since I got it, which means the cups are still rather stiff, as it hasn't gotten a chance to soften up yet from wash and wear. This further discourages me from wearing it, so it's just an unfortunate cycle lol. Despite all this, I won't be emailing Comexim about it, because it took about a month to ship to me in Canada, and that was back in mid-January, so I'm just gonna hold onto it until I get too annoyed to keep it, or I actually start getting some use out of it when I need to wear my light coloured bras more often with my summer wardrobe. Hope y'all enjoyed this (IMO) wild ride lmao

TL;DR: If you want to maintain the plunge shape, you should probably request a reduced gore along with reduced cups.

The new comexim plunges stay balconette-y even without reduced cups! I think they just changed their pattern after 2017.

    • 3

Also, thanks for such a thorough review! Sorry you had to write it twice lol

    • 2

It's looks supportive from the photos, but I totally get you from the *cakes on a plate*, jiggly perspective - I have that in a bra that I ordered (a Curvy Kate bra), and it is not my favourite feeling, so I plan to list it.

My package from Poland is taking over a month : ( I ordered the Pearl Mint Plunge, it was shipped Apr 14 and I still don't have it.

My last order of bras from the US took a month, so I think shipping is particularly slow r.n.

    • 2

addendum: I feel your pain on losing your entire first review. I did that once, the Sugar Candy bra - very detailed review, and then I had to rewrite it, #painful.

    • 1

Yeah that looks much taller and straight across than my basic without any alternations. I'm up to a 75GG/H in Comexim and the straps are too wide for tank tops now :( At a 75G I didn't have that problem. I think the Lily has a lower gore than other Comexim plunges to begin with?? I ordered two custom 75G's but I grew out them between ordering and receiving but the Lily seems lower gored than the basic if I remember correctly....

    • 1

marilynne I would agree slightly, but this is way beyond the normal new “balconette-y” cut IMO. My Scottie and Yellow Birds still have a shorter gore than this, and they’re both standard except for straps moved in 1cm on the Yellow Birds.

    • 1

sherrach898 I see what you mean. It seems like comexim shortened the cups, raised the gore and moved the straps outward from the original cut and changing any of that rotates the cups to make it worse.

    • 2

Great detailed review, and thanks for the comparison photos. It made me kinda sad seeing the old plunge because I think the old version would’ve worked out better for me. This new basic plunge was my first try at comexim and it was a disaster lol. But the 3HC worked out for me so I guess I can’t complain.
I’m curious, it looks like the new basic is made from different materials?

    • 2

margesimpson The new Basic has different strap elastic and slightly different lace trim, but other than that it's made of the same materials. My old Basic is just dingy which could be what's making it look different lol

    • 2

      sherrach898 thanks LOL
I thought it looked like a softer material

Oh man, I apologize for taking so long to start these reviews! I'm moving at the end of the month, so things are a little hectic right now. Anyways, I've had the opportunity to wear this bra a couple times now, so let's get into it. Luckily, it's the standard cut, so there's not a whole lot of weirdness going on (we'll save that for my new Basic lol)

About me: 26FF ish, dense tissue, narrow and tall roots, evenly full/functionally FOT.

PS!! Click on the link for this bra's info for all my pictures.

I believe this is the standard cut of Scottie in 55J. Four rows of hooks which ... is nice. It's a tad snug, as you can see by the measurements, but is relatively comfortable after a couple hours' wear. The band is at risk of becoming too tight after several hours, depending on my activity level. If I'm sitting on the couch all day, it's uncomfortable, but if I'm up and moving around, it's fine. The wires are a great width and the gore is a good width and height for me. The cups are a perfect volume, although the padding/fabric is a little thicker and stiffer than my other Comexims, so it gives a slightly more peaked appearance than my others (excluding my new Basic lol). I'm almost positive the shape will soften up over time. I mentioned this to marilynne today, but we have a hunch that the newer Comexim styles are cut slightly different than the old-school styles. I definitely feel like my Scottie is more balconette-style than true plunge style like my old Basic. The newer ones seem to have a slightly higher gore and a straighter neckline than my old Basic.

The briefs: Size Small. I suppose they're similar to like a boyshort cut, but a bit less coverage. My butt is definitely bottom-heavy, and the elastic cuts right through the middle of my cheeks, horizontally. It's an awful look lmao. The size is right, but not the shape. I'm keeping them because I aspire to someday make them into a thong style, which I've never done before, but even if I mess them up it's no worse than the state they're in right now. So yeah!

TL;DR: Band is a little snug, cups fit well, a tad pointy, feels more like a balconette than a true plunge. The briefs are cut like boyshorts, which doesn't work for me.

Thanks for the review! I'm really wondering why they changed the cuts. I LOVE my "vintage" plunges, I'll be so sad when they wear out and I can't replace them 😢.
I'm sorry the bottoms didn't work :(. I have a bottom-heavy butt too, I've ordered all of my comexim bottoms as thongs and they work like a champ. Good luck altering the bottons into a thong!

    • 2

This bra seems to be popular here lately, lol! I adore my Scottie. It's starting to pile a little bit after a year of occassional wear, but nothing that a clothes shaver can't save.

I wonder if the difference you're perceiving is that they have been doing a classic plunge instead of their deep plunge. They used to differentiate in their listings between the regular plunge vs deep plunge. The deep plunge was definitely plungy-er in the past compared to this.

Anyways, it looks great on you! Too bad the bottoms cut in, but good luck converting them!

    • 2

I think this may be the kind of deep plunge line I was thinking of: https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/ginger-plunge-bra-365/

    • 2

...although most of the plunges I just looked at had the same rough gore height of 2.7-2.9 in that size range, so maybe I'm dreaming...

    • 5

Wilderness1 You're totally right in that the Ginger is the "deep plunge" cut, but the deep plunges also tend to run shallower (see also the Rita, which comes standard as a deep plunge). Apparently I'm losing my marbles because I just double checked and the gore height on my old Basic (which feels more "plungey") and my Scottie are identical at 2.8". BUT, I just checked the cup height, and in the middle of the cups on each, my old Basic is 0.5" taller than my Scottie, and 0.6" taller than my Yellow Birds! So perhaps it's that the cup height on the standard cut has been lowered, which is giving me the "balconette" vibes on this. Iiiiiiinteresting findings here.

    • 6

I think that this one looks great on you! I think that Comexim plunges have always been a little more balconette style except for the deep plunge styles, but I did notice that the cup height of my Scottie and Queen of Hearts are lower than the Jade was. None of them had cup modifications. My Ingrid has a lot of modifications and my Hot Chocolate has added depth (and lower gore) so between the two, I have no idea how much of the cup height is affected. My Anna Pardal definitely has alterations as it’s a Sophisticate Balconette cut which actually looks more like a plunge. Funny how the Sophisticate Balconette looks like a plunge and the classic plunge looks like a balconette.

      Definitely food for thought though.

    • 2

sherrach898 Ive just ordered a Comexim Rita and after reading your comment about it coming up shallow, I feel a lot less confident about ordering it now lol 😅 Oops.

    • 2

I'm so sorry Rozelyna! I ordered a rita too and it was atrociously shallow. The pictures should be in my bradrobe if you'd like to see the fit on me. I was about a 28G at the time and ordered a 60K, so a bit smaller than you. I'm narrow, projected, center full and FOT. It was slightly minimizing, I had a bit of quadding along the cup's edge and the wires were a good inch below my IMF.

    • 1

I have the new Dalia which according to Joanne (and confirmed when I received it) is a lower gore style. I love it. It doesn't fit too differently than the regular plunge except that the gore is lower and there is a bit more cleavage. According to Joanne, the Suzanne is the same low gore style.

You could cite these models if you're looking for lower gores marilynne ?

    • 2

This looks so good on you sherrach898 !! So many Scottie adventures lately tempting me to order one! It's been on my wishlist forever. I'm thinking I might try it in a 3HC....

    • 2

marilynne I think I’m going to have the same issue as you did, with it being pushed below my IMF. I really need a lot of immediate projection! I really wish I’d searched the Rita up on here and seen your review/pictures before I ordered it (especially because I made sure to check all the other bras I considered ordering!). I would’ve asked for an extra 2cm depth at the bottom wire. I must’ve just been blinded by its prettiness lol.

    • 2

@rozeylena It happens to the best of us, lol. But they hardly ever actually add depth to the bottom wire, I asked them to add 2cm and they didn't, it seems like they stopped doing the harder alterations that require the material to be cut differently (straps moved in, depth added, reduced cup height).

I received this bra from another user and have had it for about a month. Currently, it is my best fitting bra, surpassing my Elena in 55J. The Elena has a lowered gore and I find that I prefer the regular gore height, given that it is narrow and overlapping.

    To begin, the aesthetics:
The satiny rose colored floral fabric is absolutely beautiful! It's my kind of aesthetic. Under clothing, seams are visible under thin, tight, knits, but not other things.

    The band:
The band is comfortable on the loosest hooks, but it's slightly looser than my Elena, despite being much newer. The inner fabric is a substantial dense ... mesh and on the outside is the satiny fashion fabric. The elastic has a soft fabric backing so it doesn't dig in or irritate. This size of bra only has 2 hooks for column unfortunately.

    The cups:
The cups are just about as close as I can get to a perfect fit. I have significant asymmetry, with almost 2" difference in horizontal perimeter, so no bra will be perfect. However, the cups are stretchy enough to accommodate my bigger side and not gape on the smaller side. (This bra has cookie pockets, but I don't have any cookies, so this review is about the fit as-is).

    The straps:
Placed acceptably wide. Would be nice if they were closer together, but they're not uncomfortable. They're fully adjustable.

For reference, I'm very short with a small frame, projected, FOB, close set and narrow.

This is one of the sale bras right now...wondering if you can confirm if this is a standard plunge with narrow and deeper cups or one of the wide and shallow plunges?

    • Calluna I believe it is a regular plunge rather than the one with the shallower/wider cups and lower gore like Ginger. You can compare the measurements to my Elena which is in the same size with same alterations.

    • Calluna I found this one in my size quite shallow.

Well, this is new! Comexim sent me a bra with a UK size on the label! I ordered size 55J, which according to Comexim is a 26GG. That seems in line with Breakout Bras sizing, which advises to go 2 cups up from your UK size for a technically proper fit. I am a 26FF, so this fits like a 26FF.

I ordered this on Feb 13 2021 during the V-day sale, and it arrived today (March 2, 2021). Has anyone else ordered during this time period and noticed a UK size on the label?

I also notice a difference in the appearance of this bra! It has scalloping ... on the edges like in the pictures, but I’ve seen Erises come without scalloping. They also put the cutest little silver “C” charm on top of the center gore bow! Love it! I expected this to be a homely looking thing, being one of Comexim’s older models. To my surprise, my Eris really looks fresh and luxurious! The pictures do not do her justice!

So, I really should have reduced the cup height. The only alterations I asked for were added cookie pockets and straps moved in. I have no idea whether they not they moved the straps in, but I have reason to think they did. I always thought I had such narrow, sloping shoulders when my shoulders are actually the opposite: level and fairly broad for my frame. Moving the straps in may have caused the gapping near the center gore, because when I move them further out, the gapping largely goes away.

I’ll be honest I don’t like the way this looks on me. Don’t get me wrong, it looks GREAT under shirts, and I think I’ll come to like it because of its functionality. It’s just… ya know… too full coverage. The cups truly are much higher than my 55HH, and they are the absolute highest they can be on me. The cups literally cover ALL of my breast tissue; it’s just skin right above the cup. I do have tall roots but, being a ski slope shape, my tissue gets very shallow up top. Thus, reducing the cup height of a 55J plunge will be a smart choice for me from now on.

And yes, this does have gapping near the center gore. It could be caused by a number of things. 1) my shallow tissue doesn’t fill the cups up there 2) the center gore is way too narrow for my very wide set breasts. Any input would be much appreciated! I think it’s most likely reason 2. I also get gapping in my 55HH unaltered Charme plunge, but quadding as you go toward the straps. It’s a rather strange fit on my Charme, lol! Anyways, I think Comexim plunges just have too narrow a gore for me. The 3HCs and KH gores are the right width for me, and they are far wider.

I also got the matching panties! They’re adorable and so well-fitting. I got them in size S. My hips and butt are fairly small, measuring in proportion to my bust (34”). Actually they’re not so small, I just have hip dips and a butt that loves gravity a bit too much 😂 Strangely, my Charme and Spring panties don’t really fit my butt so well (I get bunching) but these do. Same size. Usually I get a size M in panties even though I’m so petite because I’ll get the coverage I desire. Anyways, I’m super happy about my new underwear! Although the bra is too full-coverage, the undies are the best fitting I’ve had in my whole life!

Overall, I think I’ll keep this one. The gapping at the gore is fairly negligible and the wires are comfy. I do find the band material at the back to be kind of itchy, but I’m hoping I’ll get used to it.

    Pics to follow!

This is the first bra I ever custom ordered from Comexim! I've been wearing it for half a year now, and it's wonderful. Definitely my best fitting bra. I'm very happy with it, especially for a decent price! It took over a month to arrive, but I'm not complaining, given the price and quality.

Cups: The cups are lightly padded and seamed in typical Comexim cut and sew fashion. The foam is much thinner and softer than typical molded foam cup bras, and in addition, the inside of the cups are lined with cotton. This gives it a particularly cool, soft feel that molds to your body. The ... outside of the cups are lined with a fine mesh. I'm FOB and it fits rather well - the top is not too open at all, which is often a problem for me. I have strong asymmetry so it's not perfect, but that's alright.

Band: The band, between the top and bottom elastic, is entirely mesh, so again, it's very cool in the summer. The elastic on the band is covered by the mesh, rather than contacting the skin directly, which I really appreciate as other bras with exposed elastic irritate my skin. The bra came with 4 columns of hooks even though I didn't request this modification, which was a nice bonus.

Straps: My straps are significantly different than the ones I've seen in pictures here and on the Comexim website. They're wider, thicker and lack a scalloped edge. Again, I didn't ask for this, but I'm super happy with the modification. Thick, velvety straps are much more comfortable and preferable to me! Also, they're fully adjustable.

Look under clothing: This is the lowest point about this bra. Unfortunately, as with a lot of seamed padded bras, the impressions of the seams appear under thin, clingy, solid knit fabric. Oh well. I just wear it with wovens, layers, or put a camisole over it.

My boobs: 26FF/G ish, been fluctuating a lot the past year, but always even to FOT, narrow roots, moderately projected, firm tissue, decent space between breasts, but not wide-set.

I got this bra from cat_the_rat a couple months ago, and it has been everything I hoped for! I have been needing a replacement for my beloved Basic for a while, and this has totally taken that spot. My tiniest criticism is that the lace is a bit bumpy under some shirts, but in general it's not a problem. Otherwise, it fits extremely well. The band is a true 26; not too tight, not too loose. And ... like my Basic before it, the band has a good amount of stretch to it that adds to its comfort, as opposed to having a very firm band. So it seems that the beige bras' bands from Comexim run pretty consistently to size, which is nice. Other than that, everything is pretty much the same; same wire width, gore width, projection. I do like the cup shape of this bra better than my OG Basic. It tends to lay flatter and conform to my shape better.

Overall, extremely happy with this one!

    Didn't fit

Fit: This and the 55K Elise were the first 3HCs I tried from Comexim. 55J fits me in their plunges, but 55J in 3HC is too small. Give the same alterations (and now that I've tried an unaltered 55J 3HC, apparently even without alterations) the cup depth in the same size seems to be consistently significantly smaller in 3HC than plunge. My boob tissue isn't soft enough to quad - it stubbornly resists changing shape or location. So I don't even get a pushup effect here, just a bra that sits on top of my boobs, wires and all - ouch!

Otherwise, it's a lovely bra. Nice firm band with sheer mesh fashion fabric over a white denser mesh against the skin. LOVE the 3 rows of hooks, it feels so much more comfortable and stable than 2. The pastel floral feels cool, calm and pretty. Straps are thinner and more elastic than my other Comexim straps. Cups are lined with a nice cottony white fabric.

Ouch… a bra that sits on top of your tissue, that’s gotta hurt. I have an altered 55J 3HC which I just quad out of, having soft tissue. I’m thinking of getting an unaltered 55J plunge since my 55HH unaltered is too small, do you typically get alterations on the plunges? And 3 rows of hooks! Love that.

    • 2

thecurvypetite I haven't tried an unaltered 55J plunge yet, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work for me. My standard alterations are lowered cups, straps moved in, and overlapping gore. For reference I'm 5'0 tall with a short torso, narrow frame, and short rooted boobs. Someone in a 26-band who's more average or tall with a larger-boned but skinnier frame might not need the alterations IMO.

Here's what I've tried so far:
      55J plunge with alterations: fits
60HH plunge w/o alterations: good depth, way too tall
55J 3HC with alterations: not enough depth, a bit short but it's ok
55J 3HC w/o alterations: not enough depth, good height
      55K 3HC with alterations: fits

    • 1

ComeAtMe_Bra Ah, I see. Well, I might be able to get mine unaltered. Apparently the cup height of an unaltered 55J Plunge is around 15.9 cm? That's quite tall. I do well in my KH, which has a height of 14.6 cm. I do have quite a bit of breast tissue above where the cup ends with my KH though it is fairly shallow, so I'm wondering if my roots are functionally short. Does reducing the cup height of the 55J make it functionally smaller? (ie, fit like a 26F). sorry for all the questions, lol!

thecurvypetite I'm not sure... the cup depth on my altered plunges is a tiny bit less (0.25-0.75 cm) than the one unaltered plunge I tried, but that could be due to any of the alterations, the fact that the unaltered plunge was a sister size, different styles or just random variation. Interestingly my altered 3HC has the same unstretched cup depth as my unaltered one, but a bigger stretched depth, so fabric stretchiness is another factor. From my super limited experience with a handful of bras, reducing cup height seems to make the bra functionally smaller vertically, but perhaps not horizontally, and if so, only negligibly.

It's so disappointing this one didn't fit. I have this exact bra, but in a 60N, and I love it so much. I was thinking next time I order Comexim I am going to try a 55M though because I ordered the 60 band based on my old measurements but now I've lost some inches from my underbust. I totally relate to having boob tissue that stubbournly resists being moved by bras. I always feel like my boobs aggressively fight with my bras lol.

    Fits

I recently bought this bra from the lovely yogurt, and I've worn it a few times so far, so here are my first impressions, and how it compares to my 55J Geisha. First of all, AFAIK, there aren't any alterations on this bra, compared to my Geisha, which has lowered cups and gore. In comparison, this Basic does fit much more full-coverage. The gore doesn't bother me at all, but the cups are just a little too tall for what I prefer, and the apex is a bit higher than where my natural bust apex sits, so I find that there's a little bit of ... empty space just at the intersection of the seams. However, there isn't any visible gaping. The bottom of the cups are also a bit shallow, so I do feel like the lower half of my breast tissue is a little squished, but overall it doesn't affect the fit throughout the day. I find that every other aspect of this bra is wonderful! The materials are all so soft and comfortable, the wires are a perfect width, and the band fits comfortably snug on the loosest hook. The band has some nice give to it, so it doesn't dig in uncomfortably, whereas my Geisha is quite old at this point (considering I'm the second owner and I've had it for probably two years now) and the band elastic is kind of shot, so it really doesn't have any stretch left at this point, and it can start to dig in a little by the end of the day.

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, and I'm sure I'll be wearing it for quite a while because of Comexim's unmatched comfort!

This looks beautiful on you. What a great find!

    • Thank you! :)

    • This does look great. Really pretty and practical at the same time.

    • Thank you! I definitely agree :)

    • 1

glad you're happy with it! you're right, it's unaltered/i ordered it without any customizations (well i did ask for a overlapping gore but i feel like they do that with all their bras by default?).

    • 1

yogurt I think they do that automatically with the standard height gores, but you'd probably have to ask for it overlapped if it was also lowered, I think.

    • Wow, it looks so smooth and perfect on you. I really have to try Comexim.

    • Thank you aboobaccount! Comexim is amazing. Even when I don't get a perfect fit, they're always my most comfortable bras by far.

    Fits

So unlike the other bra I got in 55J (with reduced cups, lowered gore, and straps moved in), this one does fit. In fact, on my larger side it verges on being too small. The Basic is definitely more shallow than Geisha or Vivien and I would say that it does run a bit smaller in the cup. The band on the 55 is true to size, it stretches to exactly 28 inches. It's one of those small but very stretchy ones. The material on the basic I received is very wrinkly and I don't really care for that. It's not the band being too tight, it's just ... a fairly wrinkly satin. The lace at the tops of the cups and the pearl on the gore in the middle is a nice touch.

I tried the basic before in 60HH with no alterations and found it much too tall and large. The alterations really do make all the difference here as this bra is much more suited to me. The cups are fairly shallow at the bottom and have a tendency to move downward. Oddly, the silhouette is fairly minimized but rounded. The wires are nice and narrow on this. Again, as a note, cup width decreases between the 60 band and the 55 band in the same cup volume. Be aware of this if you're sister sizing.

Overall, Basic is a great basic bra (who woulda thought) but I'm not dying over it. Vivien and Mystic Plunge definitely are still my winners!

    Didn't fit

About me: Measure about 26FF, moderately projected, even-to-FOB with short roots, functionally narrow roots, close set, center full, about 1-2 cup size asymmetry.

This bra fits similarly to my other 55J - Comexim » Pearl Flower Mint Half Cup except with taller cups. Not bad on my smaller side but too small on my bigger side. My boobs refuse to quad or spill out the top and instead push the whole bra, wires and all, on top of my breast tissue, which is quite painful. Interestingly enough, the unstretched cup depth is the same (7.75") but the stretched-over-the-knee depth (which is what really matters in terms ... of fit) of this bra is bigger, so the cups are stretchier. The cups are the perfect height for me at 5.5" - if only they were just a bit deeper!

The band is made of only 1 layer of firm mesh compared to the PFM, which might be why it is a bit stretchier. But it feels just as stable and well constructed as the 2-layer bands, though. The straps are nice and wide. Overall, it's a quality basic bra but unfortunately not a fit.

Reduced cups 2cm, straps moved in, reduced gore 1cm. I ordered one plunge and one 3HC, but received two plunges, great lol.

The cup height is about 1cm shorter than the reduced cup 55J Rozalia I tried and about 0.5cm taller than my reduced cup 55HHs. So maybe the default reduction is 1cm and I should always request 2cm?

It's about 1cm deeper than my 55HHs (which are wearable, but I feel a little smushed by the end of the day). This size is a true fit for me, which means I should have gotten cookie pockets to pad my smaller side, so I'll probably only wear it on larger days and remember to request cookie pockets in the future.

This works surprisingly well as a strapless bra. The cups don't really gape at the top. The part where the strap attaches curls in, but it's not too noticeable or uncomfortable. I might get some fashion tape to use along the top edges if I wear something more fitted though. It's a lot more comfortable than actual strapless bras since it doesn't have those silicone strips. Maybe someday I'll ask them to make one without straps.

This looked off-white in the product photos, but it's more of a greige. Still very pretty though.

Sometimes I think they forget to add the extra depth at the wire, but this bra has it. There's a bit more room than my other plunges without the extra depth. This set of alterations is probably my best true fit, but I'd need extra padding on the smaller side.

    • airymoon hi, could you explain what you mean by adding extra depth at the wire? does it mean increasing the cup depth?

    • itsliyanna Yes. I've asked them if I could get deeper cups, and they told me they could add 1cm extra depth at the wire. But most of the times I've asked for it, they haven't done it, as far as I can tell. This one definitely fits a tiny bit larger than my other plunges though. I think I measured it at 0.5cm deeper, but I'm not the best at measuring.

    • airymoon ah i see. im planning to buy this in 60J and maybe one or two other bras as well. it will be my first time ordering from comexim as well so thank you for the helpful information.

Ordered with cookie pockets and 1cm extra depth at the wire. As always, unsure if extra depth was added and if I should even bother asking. This does fit slightly better than my unaltered 55J Basic (a little more closed than my new Ardea though)—still more on the cleavage fit side, but not uncomfortable.

Update: I do feel a little squished as the day goes on sometimes, especially on larger days. The altered plunges have been working out better. Will probably list all my 3HCs someday.

Ordered this as a 3HC, but got a plunge instead. The cup height is similar to a previously owned 55J Rozalia, which makes me wonder if that one actually had reduced cups.

Update: I asked Comexim if I could have a coupon code to reorder as a 3HC. They told me to just order and they would refund the cost of the bra (edit: ended up being a partial refund, once the order was shipped)

Alterations: reduced cups, reduced gore, straps moved in, cookie pockets. As always, not quite sure if they were done? But I think so, since the cup height is about the same as an unaltered 60H that I tried recently.

Unfortunately, the apex of this is too high on my smaller side so it kind of caves in 😂. I'd need to add a full pad, not just a little cookie. 55HH with reduced cups was a better fit (a smidge too small in volume, but not too uncomfortable) in terms of cup height.

Update: I think I'm in between sizes, and my ideal bra would be a 55J with extra reduced cups or a 55HH with extra depth.

A great shade for my pale neutral-toned skin. The cups are way too big for me though. I usually wear the 60H.

The band is not as short and tight on me as I expected from a brand new 55 band. It’s about the same as new black 60 bands from Comexim. It is made of one layer of fabric.

So far this is the best fit I've found. I've tried several UK bras to no avail. The 55HH was too small in the cup and this 55J is pretty much perfect. The gore floats because it's too separated for me, but otherwise a great fit.

So I have the Geisha in 55J that was supposed to have a lowered gore, straps moved in, and reduced cups. I do not think the straps have been moved in one the one I received and I got one with 3x3 hooks (which is typically custom) instead of the typical 2x3. Unfortunately, this bra is too big for me, and I won't be able to keep it. The straps not being moved in creates about an inch of extra fabric at the top of the bra. In addition, scaling for 55 bands makes them slightly narrower and deeper than the Comexim Vivien I have in 60HH (with ... the same alterations). I think Geisha in a 55HH would fit me well. The band on this one does run tight. It's actually longer than the other 55 bands I got, but has much less stretch. The lace pattern carries around the entire bra (which is gorgeous) but probably contributes to this problem. I would say this 55J definitely is closer to a 26G.5.

I'm so sad this doesn't fit because it's truly a gorgeous bra. The cherry blossom lace pattern is classic, sexy, and luxurious. The foam cut and sew cups are typically comfortable and the bows on the sides and middle are cute finishing touches. I would love to own this bra in a 55HH. I'll probably order it again. It is definitely more projected than the Basic in the same size.

I'll get a real blog post about this up at some point, but for now here are my ramblings https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

    • Do you think when comexim bras are ordered, 'we' should ask for the cups to be lowered?
I'm planning on ordering some (but not for another month or so). I actually want to order non padded styles first, since padded seamed bras don't work out for me.

    • 2

Hmm... I would say probably yes for you, but it does make the cups a bit more closed off. I believe Anna says that most women in a 28 band will want the cups lowered. kerniss tried one of their unpadded styles so she might be able to tell you about them. Padded bras from any other brand don't really work for me, but I firmly believe that Comexim is magic.

    • 1

I'm in a 28 band and can wear a standard 60HH with no cup reduction or alterations. Guess that makes me an oddball haha!

    • 1

Compared to Ewa Michalak, I don't really consider the Comexim padded bras to be "padded" more lined imo. I love Geisha, and I wish it was a better for you PetiteCollegiate .

    • Geisha is so pretty. You should definitely try it again.
