Beautiful bra, lace detail, and color. Band is comfortable (I measure 28" snug). The cups are much too small for me--I bought this before I was accurately fitted.

Gorgeous! I fell in love with beautiful lace design and shiny, satin-y cups, and bought it without worrying about how it's going to fit. Now my measured size is US 30G, but Wacoal didn't have that size so I sister sized up to 32DDD. The band is still very comfortable and snug. Definitely not as tight as most 30 bras, but this band may run a smidge small. The cups are surprisingly deep for a molded bra and have a very spherical shape. I have a little bit of gapping at the top, so someone who is FOT or tall-rooted might like it too. For reference, my own shape is rounded, slightly narrow, average projection w/ immediate projection, close-set. Overall I love this bra, and I wouldn't mind getting another in the future!

This has wide wires and medium height cups. There is a side support panel of fabric. There is no immediate projection, and the apex is high. There is too much top projection compared to the little bottom projection, probably intended for a even to FoT fullness. On my smaller breast the fabric ends much higher, and there is more extra fabric that I can pinch, however the larger breast also has pinchable fabric due to the bra being FoT. The fabric is a little itchy for sensitive skin

The band is quite soft, although the wires stretch with the band. The bra is shallow, no immediate projection, with wide wires. The top of the cup right below the strap has too much space for me as there is projection up until the strap, rather than a sloping top with a flat connection to the strap. Therefore there is too much top fullness. The cups are full coverage and too tall for me.

The wires warp when the band is stretched, so the bra becomes more shallow. For me, the wires were too wide, the bra was too shallow, there wasn’t any immediate projection, the gore was too high so it sat on my breast tissue so I pushed the wires down the channel so the gore starts lower, which also helped with quadding on my larger breast. The cup height was short enough that the fit was fine for me. The band seems short, more suited for a 30 to 32 band with its tightness. The straps start a little too far out and cover my tail of Spence, but do not cut in. The foam is fairly soft, almost spaced foam. The lace edge at the bottom of the bra does not irritate my skin.

Overall, this is everything I want in a bra. The cups are comfortable and supportive, the center gore rests comfortably on my chest in the right spot, and the bra is very attractive for a soft cup bra. My only complaint is that Wacoal does not make bras with smaller band sizes to accommodate my smaller frame. However, this is one of the best bras I've had in a long time.

This is almost cute for a nursing bra. The lace details around the sides of the cups and at the gore and band are nice. I may just keep this one because it's as close as I've come out of trying on 24 bras in the last month. It does give me a strange shape. I can't pinpoint it to describe, but it's not what I'm used to from a traditional bra.

My shape: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.

My review is based on how this bra fit me, I have not purchased or exercised in it. Unfortunately I do not have measurements for this bra. This is one cute little bra, but almost gave me no support whatsoever. First of all, the band seemed a little loose on the loosest hooks, second hook was a better fit for me. I adjusted the straps as tight as I could and they were still too long for me. They might work crossed, but I didn't experiment during my try-on.

The cups have underwire ... and spacer foam fabric which is comfortable. However, the height of the cup is very short and lots of the upper part of my breast tissue is exposed leading to lots of bounce/jiggle when I jumped/ran in place in the fitting room. They categorize this bra as medium support and I would agree, definitely not for running, HIIT, etc. It is comfortable for lower impact activities, probably more suitable to shorter roots and lo-set or taller folks who always need longer straps. Shorter or petite people and/or those with high set breasts will probably have trouble with the longer length of the straps.

I'm going to review this bra based on how it fit me, I have not purchased it or exercised in it. Unfortunately I do not have measurements for it. My shape is: close set, center full, full on bottom, average/narrow width roots, tall shallow roots, soft tissue.

I was initially hesitant to try this on because it looks kinda funky, the underwires are on the outside of the bra and very visible and I actually tried to put it on backwards at first! The band fitted me very snug for a 32 (it wasn't uncomfortable during my try-on though), and I suspect it runs closer to a 30 band ... size. Since I can wear 30-32 bands, it was okay for me even though it looks kinda tight in the picture I posted. The band has 4 hooks which makes it super comfortable and doesn't budge!

The underwires on the outside actually made it pretty comfortable to wear since the inside of the bra is smooth. The wires seem to be slightly wide, but I feel this doesn't really bother me. The fabric over the cup has some stretch/give and it on the thinner side, I suspect nipples will show through. The material is somewhat compressible so it flattens my breasts and gives me a flattened profile.

The gore comes up very high in the front, but it tacked well on me and wasn't uncomfortable. The cups come up very high as well which I like more since it holds me in. The straps are adjustable with a sort of hook/loop system and I like that it will stay in place and not slide down like some traditional straps can.

I did some running in place and jumping around in the fitting room and it surprisingly held me down well. There is still some bounce, but I "felt" like I was contained relatively well. The store did not have my size in black (which I prefer) so I am definitely considering ordering this.

This review is for the color "Black". This bra is above and beyond comfortable, which is what is at the top of my list right now. It has a sturdy band and the cups provide a nice rounded shape under clothing. The backband has four hooks adding to the band support. I also love the fact the straps are set closer together in both the front and back. This prevents any strap slippage off your shoulders. I’m 9 months postpartum so I’m constantly bending over to handle baby. Who has time to adjust!? The cups have a very slight show through if it’s cold out, but so very minimal it doesn’t bother me. I love the comfort and fit so much I’ll be looking for this in every color I can find.

  14. Lace Affair Contour (853256)

I've purchased several of Wacoal's Lace Affair in various colors and was excited when I saw this Light Blue color (which I hadn't seen available in the US). It's a beautiful shade of blue...darker than "Baby Blue" but lighter than "Cornflower".
I have consistently been very happy with the height & width of the gore of the Lace Affair style. Its' shape fits my shape exactly.
When I've gone up a cupsize for those times of fluctuations I have found the cups/wires (and consequently the straps) get wider rather than the cups getting deeper, proportion wise. So in that sense it's not an ideal bra, since I need more projection rather than width.
Overall, their quality is spot on and their sizing is usually very consistent (with the exception of the Red, which the band was so short I needed an extender).

    Fits

No information on Bratabase for this one and the reviews on Amazon weren't helpful (they seldom are), so I just had to try it.

    The details:
Very stretchy spacer cups; forgiving for uneven sizes or fluctuations in fullness. (Spacer fabric isn't the best for concealing prominnt nipples but packs in a suitcase easily.) Cups seem to run a little bigger than other Wacoals I have tried (or maybe it's because they are So stretchy); more open than expected. It has an inner mesh sling along the outer edge of the cups. The neckline edge is finished with a narrow stretch trim.
The double layer band is stretchy lace on the outside, ... mesh on the inside, with 3/8" typical elastic edges. Tall wings taper to two hooks in the back. Seems to run true to size; (but the angle of the band also seemed to accentuate back flab.) It has a full band in the front; the lace under the cups would not lay flat, curled up toward the cup.
The gore is only 3/4" wide and the top of it is angled into a sharp "V", which shortens the overall height. (The measurement I listed was taken from the lowest point of the V.)
The 1/2" straps are fully adjustable in the back. The front of the straps are decorated with a small piece of leafy-looking lace; a nice accent to an otherwise plain bra.

Bottom line: a rounded shape but not much lift due to the stretch cups and thin elastic on the band; plus the narrow straps didn't help either. Comfortable enough but unimpressed.

  16. Fire And Lace Contour (853252)

Correction: I accidentally listed this as a Freya brand, but it is indeed a Wacoal. Not sure how to make that correction. Sorry!

This bra is similar in design to the Fantasie Rebecca Lace, but I like this one much better. This one has a lower gore that doesn't sit on my breast tissue.
The back lace band is a better design and does a nicer job smoothing out the back.
The wings near the cups are taller than the Rebecca Lace (if I remember correctly) and it's more comfortable under the arms.
The straps adjust in the front, which is an awesome ... feature, but they do slip a little, even throughout the day. They are a bit far apart for me, but then again most straps are. (I'm not narrow shouldered, just petite framed.)
The cups are soft and comfortable. They have less stretch (also less shine) than the Wacoal Lace Affair, and they tend to gape a little when I roll my shoulders.
The outer wires are comfortable under my arms, but overall sit slightly below my IMF. So not a perfect fit but not uncomfortable either.

Update: kinda outgrew it in the cup, so now the wire sits well below the IMF and I quad, whereas I didn't use to.

I've been wearing this bra for over a year. It's a good bra, nothing really special to look at, but it serves it's purpose and doesn't show lines under t-shirts. I have lost some fullness in the boob department over the past few months and now I notice that there are little air pockets at the top. The band started out having to be secured on the tightest hooks, so it's ready to be retired. Most likely I'll be sacrificing this bra to the costume gods sometime in the near future.

Compared to the 32G I previously tried, this one's wires are considerably shorter and do not sit on my ribcage. But I must be between sizes since I get a bit of quadding with this one and the 32G was gaping.
Yet what is more noticeable is how stretchy the band is on this one. I could easily stretch this out 4-5" in the back and I have to assume it's because it's only a single layer of mesh (in contrast to the 32G which had a double layer mesh band). However, the band is nice and tall (which I prefer since I am low-set), ... and the wide band minimizes the muffin back. (I don't think it's simply because of the stretchiness, since even when I pull the band away from my back, the wide band still doesn't create the rolls).
The gore is low and stays out of the way of breast tissue. The partial band is good for petites.
The straps are fully adjustable despite the front half being split into two thin strips. They have a tight stretch to them...much tighter than the band, for instance.
Of special note: Smooth lace on the cups won't show under a thin shirt; Memory foam in the cups creates a nice rounded profile, but doesn't add volume; This particular bra arrived from Amazon in a box that was too small for it and has some serious creases in the cups.

Super stretchy, tall band made with single layer mesh and traditional, flocked elastic edges. No boning under the arms. Wires are pretty flexible and will easily distort if stretched too far. Cups are double layer mesh, twin darts in the bottom & inner edge, embroidery on the top layer. Embroidery isn't too thick but will show under a thin shirt. Because of its' stretchiness, the cups accommodate varying degrees of fullness. However, they are very closed because of the satin binding on the top edge. They have an inner sling along the outer edges of the cups, also made with double layer mesh. The profile is ... nicely rounded, but not a lot of lift. The gore is decently low, but not forgiving for close-set breasts. The straps are closely aligned above the apex, away from the armpits (thank goodness!). They're also softly flocked on the underside.
Bottom line: cups are more projected than what the photo on Amazon appeared. But the fit will be tricky, unless you're short rooted and/or very lean. More of lounge bra. My guess is it would be very comfortable once broken in...ie, washed & worn a few times. But I also fear the band would stretch out too quickly, since when I tried it on it immediately stretched 4-5" behind my back while already on the closest set of hooks.
Too bad it's not available on Amazon with a 30" band, to try a sister size.

    • How does this fit compared with Lace Affair Contour and/or La Femme? An Amazon review mentions the cup runs large....

    • 1

For a while, I found the Lace Affair to gape when I moved around in it. Then as tissue seemed to migrate that is no longer an issue.
So...that being said, the La Femme has a similar wire as the Lace Affair, but more open cup. (Also not as soft.) The Subtle Sensuality has wider wires and similar openness to La Femme.
Subtle Sensuality would be the widest and more open of the three.

    • Perhaps I could size down with the wider wire in Subtle Sensuality. It looks like the gore would easily narrow which is a grand characteristic for me!

    • Yes, you could definitely try that. Personally, I was not loving it enough to do any alterations. It felt like me conforming to it, rather than it conforming to me. It did seem to be quite comfortable though; not stiff like the LaFemme.
