  1. Voodoo Plunge Bra (3511)

    Didn't fit

Here it is, my Voodoo bra!

Definitely runs big-ish, both in the back band (this is a stretchy 30, already closed on second hooks *and I know the middle hook isn't closed but I suck at closing bras behind my back (; if you do too, Voodoo does need back-closure-contortion!*) and partly the cups (I'm normally more of a 30GG or H). While the mesh under-cups are tight, borderline quadding, I wouldn't want to size up: read on..

This bra is pretty awesome - still loving the design! I actually prefer wearing the X-cross-straps on my back, instead of on the front as advertised, this way it actually seems quite ... wearable under modest necklines. Support and basic construction seem good (only tried it on and took pictures), shoulder straps are nice and wide, quality of hardware and materials appear to be at usual mid-range lingerie standards IMO.

However, I'm very glad I never bought it at full price.. Mainly because of one major design flaw that I had luckily been expecting from reviews I'd read: the puckering fabric overlay!

People (sweetnothingsnyc, Hcupchronicles, Figleaves etc. customer reviews) mention how it looks like there's an empty nipple pocket (?) that sort of folds and is hard to adjust. I was hoping this pucker might be avoided / minimized by sizing down. In the size I chose it's not too bad - but still noticeably there (more so in real life than visible in pictures).

So yeah, it really seems like a scaling / manufacturing flaw - the (rigid) mesh under-cups definitely fit a size smaller than the satiny-stretchy over-cup parts. As if they put the overlay of a 30H on a 30G under-bra? On a technical level, the darts in the satiny cup part seem wrongly sewn. Like their angle doesn't successfully match the desired cup shape. Also it's obviously difficult to match stretchy to non-stretchy materials? Still a shame though, and probably the reason for Voodoo being significantly discounted on Figleaves.

Anyhow, personally I hate the feel/look of visibly too-large bras, so any puckering or gaping annoys me. Because it was an expected flaw I can accept it. Still have to try it under clothes, it may be fine! If it does keep bothering me I'll consider attaching the satiny part to the outer wings/wires - pinning the fabric that way did seem to fix the issue.

All in all, if some pucker-annoyance is not your pet peeve, and strappy bras are your cup of tea, Voodoo is actually quite a good option in the fuller bust range!

    30G

    Fits

Bought from brastop for $23USD total on 3/22, shipped 3/23, arrived 4/11 to southern east coast USA.

    I am usually a 32F/FF (US 32G/H or 30 I/J), 30FF, comexim 75H or 70H, standard EU 70G. Even fullness, separated breasts.

Bra fits like a snug 32F(US 32G), cups are SHALLOW, straps could be adjusted for even bigger cakes on a plate cleavage.

Bra fits almost perfectly, except there's a small bit of room at the bottom of the cups (not sure anyone could get past that, unless they were very small and shallow). The wires are about a half inch too long for me, but not uncomfortable. Wings could be shorter or straps moved in closer (not really sure) for even better comfort. I don't believe I could sister size up in this bra without wires being way too long. I believe this size is the best fitting option in this style.

This is such a vavoom bra - fun! Just a note for posting bras along the bratabase journey, it can be helpful to mark bras as "did not fit" when it is too shallow (empty cups at the bottom), too small in the cup, too wide in the strap... and mark in the notes that it fit well enough to keep and to wear. Everyone has bras like that - I just added one to my drawer this week! I found making those changes in "my bras" helpful for me as I continue to buy bras with different measurements, styles, comfort levels and fit in mind. It also helps fellow bra aficionados learn what a well-fitting bra looks like versus one that does not fit superbly but is good enough. Happy bra shopping!

I'm ~ a 28GG-H/30G-GG, projected, pendulous, even and center full, I think tall roots not sure tho

The quality of this bra is rediculously average, considering it cost me over 50€. I still regret that I didn't send it back in time,
but I was just mesmerized by how cool it looks and the fact that the unpadded, deep plunge cut suits me so well.
It's the only wearable bra for me at the moment but it makes me feel horrible because the cup is slightly to tight and the fabric is so damn scratchy and stiff. *sigh*
Also, I have this bra since last month and handwashed ... it carefully a few times but there are already loose threads and the back of the band, where the bra closes is kinda crooked, it gets a little bit more out of shape with every time I wear it. I rarely see this, even in the cheapest bras. (See pictures.)

TL;DR: Not bad, quality dosen't justify price, good fit but cheap, scratchy material.

    Little Update:
I don't know why I didn't write it in the original review but the wire gives me red marks almost immediatly after putting the bra on and it gets really uncomfortable the longer I wear it. I could be wrong but I read somewhere that Curvy Kate/Scantilly bras have nickel in them and I have a nickel allergy, so that makes sense.
I haven't worn this bra in months, surprise surprise.

    30G

    Fits

Based on the same shape as Scantilly Unzipped and Curvy Kate Lifestyle, which are two of my favourite bras. The tension on the overbust seam seems to be a little on the tight side, but I am very full/firm so it may be an issue with my shape more than the actual bra. I sit at a true 28GG in most other brands right now, and if this came in a 28 I would prefer that, but the 30G is a perfectly fine fit for me on the middle hooks. I can easily fasten it on the tightest, but it warps the wires a little and pulls them too wide. The backing on the underband does feel a little scratchy on my skin but if this is like any previous Scantilly style it will ease off after a handwash. I love, love, LOVE the detachable chain that comes with it - there are a couple of rings this can be clipped to on the bra itself, as well as on the coordinating items too.

  5. Harnessed Half Cup Bra (031105)

My new favourite Scantilly bra! I've photographed it without the additional straps just for the purpose of showing the fit, but I love the versatility of the additional straps that can be clipped to the bra and also the matching brief to create a whole range of looks. The cups are a 3-part construction with vertical seams, giving that classic half cup lift with a rounded and super full shape which is my favourite. It runs small overall - I'm normally a 28G/30FF and the 30G in this fits like a glove.

    • How'd you compare it to Surrender regarding the cup depth? Would you say you're FoT? I'm just confused about what size to pick in this bra as Surrender was too big on top, and I oftentimes have this issue with CK bras. Thanks!

    • 1

Orange_Kate sorry i don't come on here very often so miss my comments! the shape is completely different to surrender, with it being a half cup (surrender being a plunge) and i'd say it's much shallower. i didn't get on with surrender at all as it was just not the right shape for my bust and no matter what size i tried i always ended up with the top cup section being really gappy, even if the rest of it was fine or even too small. in terms of my shape, i'm quite evenly full (when i do the bend over check i have equal fullness each side of my nipple) but very firm, so when i wear a bra it definitely pushes my breast tissue up to be functionally FoT. if it helps, my best fit in surrender was a cup size down (so, 30F) :)

Cleavage anyone? I'm FOB, but for even fullness, this would probably work. Also, the gore is pretty narrow, and you can make it more narrow by adding an extender on the bottom front.

This bra is beautiful and very sexy!
The materials look quite high quality and feel nice on the skin.
Fitwise it isn't perfect for me, although the fit-settings determine it a fit, it just barely does.
The cups are a little too small, I think they are a bit shallower than I would need. Strangely, they do not cause quad-boobs on me, though, and considering this is quite the boudoir piece I actually quite like the push-up effect the slightly too small cups cause on me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_mrgreen.gif" alt=":D" />
The straps are long enough for me, but they are very short, something that I do not encounter often, as I am short, but I had to lengthen them almost all the way.
The band is good on me, I can only fasten it on the first hooks, so I hope it will last a long time!
