  1. Jeanie Unlined Wire Bra (4802)

    Didn't fit

An unlined, cut-and-sewn everyday bra for those who find similar bras by Goddess (Kayla, Keira), Elomi (Caitlyn, Cate) and Wacoal (Fine Form, et al) too tall in the gore, cups or wings.

Please note: This is a Jeanie model that is not offered by many on-line or boutique retailers, so be careful to distinguish it with the more popular Jeanie contour plunge.

This bra has four-section cups with a side panel. All of the sections are constructed with the same materials, a jersey outside and a mesh lining. These materials aren't quite as firm as the similar bras by Elomi, say, so they provide somewhat less firm support. I get ... good lift and rounding, partly because the bottom section projects upward as much as outward. That works well on my soft tissue, which needs to be hiked upward, but if you have firm tissue and a lot of projection at the bottom of the cup, you might have trouble. The wire has some flex in it, but not much.

I like that the proportions suit by 5-2 frame much better than even the Elomi Etta, which was designed for the "petite plus" market. The cups aren't too high, the gore is low enough that I can wear almost all of my wardrobe with this, and the wings and wire don't dig into my armpit. The seams are invisible under every top except the very closest-fitting knit ones. Note: This "European Nude" color is a little darker and less pink than other Parfait models (in case you're trying to match with undies, etc.).

This was my special one, it actually fit amazing. The band could have been smaller, as with all the bras I purchased so far in this search. Unfortunately one of the hooks got warped. After bending it back it was wearable.

This is not my size. I got it for my cousin but never gave it to her and now I'm selling it new. Ive worn this brand and style before in my size and it fits comfortably. However, size is important, this will only be super comfortable if you're truly in the correct size.

A lacy everyday full-coverage bra that I like so much I bought it in several colors. (And yes, the darker colors run a smidge smaller than the pale pink.)

Some things to note: The entire upper center panel stretches, not just the edge, so if you have much fullness there, you might find this is a full-coverage bra you can wear. The lower panels do not stretch, so I get a softly rounded, natural shape. There is boning in the wings, but it's a flexible plastic and doesn't dig into me at all. The underwire has a small amount of flex in it, but is largely firm. I like that the gore does not come up as high as on Wacoal and Elomi full-coverage bras.

What would make this perfect? A side sling or panel of firmer material to bring my breasts more front and center. But this is a pretty, supportive bra at a good price point, so my wish is really more of a quibble.

What has not been said about this perennial best-seller? Great styling and a comfortable fit, as long as you are not too projected ... or you have soft tissue that will cheerfully accommodate the cup's shape.

I had originally tried this in a 38FF, because I perceive myself to be projected (well, I guess that's true) and I was warned that this model is best for wide and shallow breasts. Turns out that you can be functionally shallow if your breast tissue is soft enough, so I went back to my usual Parfait size, 38F. And that works very well. The firm moulded cups hike my breasts up to ... give me a lovely, youthful rounded shape. I have a teensy bit of gaping at the top of my smaller breast's cup, but it's not enough to change sizes. I might pad that side. Or I might not. The wire has a small amount of flex to it, and the "padding" is really more of a thick lining than anything approaching WonderBra territory.

I love the dusty rose colorway, which reminds me of my pink tights and black leotards from ballet class long ago.

I *really* want to love this bra! The white with black pinstripes is just gorgeous, with the black lace across the top of the cups. Mmmmm. Simply beautiful. Very nice detail, and I really like the strap separation.

Now the downside. This cup size is WRONG! There was no information for this size in the database, so I took a chance on a 38F. The gore is about 4cm from my sternum and I'm getting that unfilled-on-the-bottom wrinklage that you get with orange-in-a-glass. And if I push the gore against my sternum, I do get some quadding. There is a ... user here who posted a fit request at the end of December for this same bra in a 38G, along with measurements (which oddly enough don't show up in the measurements table), which show a depth of 11.5" I don't think that would be enough depth for me and I don't think this bra comes in a 38GG.

Which makes me sad, because I *really* want to love this bra! I don't know if I should just list it and be done with it, or hang on to it in the hopes that it will fit much better when I lose 25+ pounds.

I love this bra. My breasts are shallow with a wide root. It was hard to find a bra with wires wide enough to fully encompass my breast tissue without being too deep. Also, many styles cut across my breast tissue at the top. This solved those issues wonderfully. This bra gives me a good fit and I like the shape with clothes on. It's a fairly round shape, but not fake looking. It looks very classy, with a vintage-but-not-old-fashioned charm.
