My shape: mid-height center-set slightly conical teardrop with lots of immediate projection; super wide and tall roots, close center tissue, and allover fullness that gives me similar fitting issues to shallow breasts; and firm self-supporting tissue that fights back and doesn't like to be pushed around.
This review is for a gently used ebay purchase in the Caribbean Blue colorway.
For starters, in case there was any doubt, I should point out that this bra is sheer. Only the lower outside part of the cup is lined, which could make for a great summer bra. For me, the exposed lace just made it a little itchy (you can see the ...slight redness it caused on the photos of the wire marks). Since this bra has supposedly been washed before, I can't assume it will get any better. With a combination of very sensitive skin, a recent struggle with mysteriously recurring hives, and ADHD's sensitivity to irritations, this is a deal-breaker for me. On the other hand, the tag doesn't scratch and I never noticed it at all.
The band fits alright, I suppose. I'm not 100% sure how stretched out the elastic is from wear by previous owners, but either way I was still on the tightest set of hooks. I suspected from reviews that I would need a 28, but, not knowing for sure, took the chance. It doesn't ride up or shift, but I can still pull it away quite a bit on the tightest set, and it feels loose. I think my underbust measurement has shrunk a little lately, though, which may also have something to do with it.
The straps are quite stretchy, which surprised me. They seem supportive enough for me, given how slim they are, but I have self-supporting breasts and this might be important to some people.
The gore is low-ish, but still pokes. Shifting the wires around didn't seem to help much, but compared to the plunges I used to wear the gore is pretty tall. Panache plunges are not very plunge-y. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
On to the cups, which are the real interesting part: There seems to be enough inner fullness by the gore, which is great. The immediate projection from the wire at the bottom is ok but I still need more, which means the wires want to creep down, especially before swooping-and-scooping. I also noticed loose fabric wrinkling across the top of both cups, which is made worse by reaching or slouching and I think also indicates that the bra anticipates a little more upper fullness than I have. It's possible that some of this would be made better by a 30F (or 28FF), but I'll have to find one before I can try it and know for certain. The fit issues, or possibly the fact that it's a cup size too large, give me a fairly pointy profile, especially if my nipples push out on the horizontal seam.
The wires are a decent length, I think, but the wrong shape for my underarm-tissue and roots, which are flattened curves reaching back to my shoulder blades (like the Nike swoosh). The wings are also slightly too tall to dodge the tissue there, so it pokes just a little as though it were actually too short, although I didn't notice this until I saw the marks when I took the bra off. The outside-bottom part of the curve is also too wide and misses the InfraMammary Fold (such as mine is, which admittedly isn't much).
Summary: Probably not for me, and I guess I am slightly conical and maybe a little FOB? Read more 491 more words
This bra looks great, is really comfortable, but the shape under clothing is a bit meh. Is ok for a low v-neck top or purely for seduction purposes. Like, I solely wear this bra around the house if there is a chance of nookie forecast but I don't want to commit to the whole seduction outfit.
Fits well (tight) in the band, and fits very nice in the cups, with a smooth line at the top of each, no spill over at all. The cup is seamed, so it's definitely not a tshirt bra as the seams did show through the few different tshirts I tried it with.
Profile from the side is pretty rounded, not pointy at all. View from the front is good, and not wide. I wish it had a touch more lift, but honestly it's actually quite good.
The underwires aren't the most comfortable at first, although I think I'd probably get used to them. Also, the band is somewhat scratchy ...on the skin in certain areas, not sure if this is due to the lace or what....I think it would probably lessen with washings and wear.
Straps are too far apart, but this is an on-going problem for me. I haven't had a strap slip on it yet, but I do feel potential for slippage. Thought not ideal, using a strap accessory in the back would fix this for me. I often have a problem with straps pulling at my armpit when I reach forward, however that does not happen with this bra, which is nice.
Also worth mentioning...when walking, there is a little bit of bounce, which I'm not crazy about. This might just be me and not something that happens for other people, but I thought it was worth pointing out.
At this point I'm going to return the bra as I don't really need it right now, although it does fit so I may possibly pick one up in the future. Read more 161 more words
This could be my best fitting bra so far. I first tried this in 28E, size suggested by ABTF's calculator but it was a little too small and didn't give much lift. The 28F fits better. Band is snug, stretch lace accommodates my top fullness and tall roots, and the gore is low. It was too wide so I did a little alteration. I wanted to overlap the gore but ended up not overlapping enough so it's just a lowered gore now. This makes the band tighter, which is fine for me because my snug underbust is 27 inches. The gore is much more comfortable now although it ...still sits on breast tissue a tiny little bit because I'm super close-set. The wires a little wide, but it's not causing any problems. Keep in mind though the wires are a little stiff so it takes a while to get used to it. I would definitely recommend this bra to those who have tall roots / fuller on top / projected / centre full / close set breasts. Wish it came in more pastel colours! Read more 76 more words
This bra is so close to amazing for me that it makes me sad. The stretch lace is wonderful (unlined bras usually wrinkle like crazy on top for me, but this lays pretty flat), and the bra is very comfortable. The band must run tight, because I can wear it on the loosest hooks and it feels nice and snug on my 26" ribcage. Unfortunately, I am missing just a little too much breast volume on top to fill out the apex. I end up with a wrinkle where the upper lace meets the rest of the cup, and it makes the diagonal seam much too visible through clothing.
I am far-set, broad-rooted, splayed, conical, and very much full on bottom/outsides (shallow on top and center). If you are all of these things, except with more even/upper fullness, you will probably love this bra.
Another reddit braswap, this one from u/hello_kirby. I only tried it on real quick to take pictures and see how it fits -- first impression: Much better than the full cup version! No triangle titties here and the lace doesn't slide down my tall roots or wrinkle anywhere. It's just as comfortable and pretty as the full cup too! Yaaaay! I need to snag more of these (DISCONTINUED, WHYYY) before they disappear forever. I may return to edit this review after a full day of wear.
Edit: After wearing it for a day, this is definitely one of my favourite bras now. I pretty much completely forgot I was wearing it and at the end of the day, everything was still in place. Love love love!
I have this same bra in 4 different colours: caribbean blue, teal, purple and berry. They are all 30E and fit the same. I usually wear 28F or 28FF in Panache.
At first, the 30E fit well. The band was snug enough, but after a while the band stretched. It needs to be "worn in". Now I wish I had bought it in 28. My ribcage is 26-27 inches, comfortably tight.
The cups gave me pointy shape, and now I think it is because I need 1 size up!! My boob shape has changed lately, and it has made these 30E cups obviously too small, although the stretchy lace saves it a LOT. I will continue to wear these bras.
The bra looks pretty and is comfortable. Straps adjust all the way. The wires are comfortable for me, and the width is okay. I need normal - wide wires.
I love the stretch lace at the tops of the cups. I imagine this allows for some flexibility in terms of fuller on top/on bottom, but I'm not an expert. It fits me well.
The band is quite tight. I'm actually looking forward to it loosening up a bit. So far thought (it's been about 2 months) the band hasn't loosened much, at least not that I've noticed.
I have low set breasts (hope those are the right labels) such that I have the straps adjusted to the longest length. It's just barely long enough, although I would have appreciated slightly longer straps.
I also have moderately wide set breasts, and this bra fits very well. Finally, the colour is just lovely. It's a deep teal, mostly blue with some green.
This bra is a godsend that matches my tastes almost perfectly. The cups are unlined, with no padding, and feel barely-there. It's worth noting that the all-lace cup is something I'd be wary of if I'd only seen it and not felt it, but no worries. I am the type of person that refuses to buy something that itches even a little, and this was something I didn't even feel. The band is a firm, unexpectedly sturdy one that I fastened on the loosest setting. It will likely do well over time. As it was almost too tight, I tried on a 34G as well. I had to fasten ...that one on the tightest setting for a perfect fit, which wouldn't hold up well to any stretching. The gore would probably be too far apart for those with closer-set, narrower breasts, but was perfect for my own wide set ones. I'm petite, so I found the wires were a bit too long. I bent them slightly at the middles and sides to remedy that, and now it fits just fine all around. The shape was a natural one that looked a little odd on the shirtless side view, but was just fine from both side and front under a shirt. I do admit that I'm wearing it for comfort more so than looks, though. This is a lightly structured plunge, so it doesn't suit my soft, bottom heavy breasts as well as a half-cup or balconette might. Excellent review. Sorry it causes all these issues for you.
It's ok! I am just getting into shopping for real bras [that aren't Fauves!], so I have to start somewhere. :)
