Okay, let me just start off by saying, I absolutely LOVE the shape this bra gives me, especially how it looks under a shirt (I'll probably submit some clothed pictures in just a bit). It's very uplifted and kind of pushed together. Slimming on the sides and filling out the center. It's also a little pointed, which I'm not big on, but it looks so great otherwise that I don't even have a complaint. I have never had a bra give me this nice of a shape. Granted, I haven't had many bras until now that even came close to fitting, but I'm not one to look a ...gift horse in the mouth https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Also, this bra is so much cuter in person than pictures show. It's patterned with a very vibrant, deep blue and a nice salmon color that just compliment each other well. Even the back of the bra is patterned prettily.
The band seems very stretchy, although I did get it used, so that could be the reason. For a balcony styled bra, the cups do seem to reach higher than they should, which causes it to gape on me. The wires in the gore are doing this weird thing where they're flipping over each other, but that may be because the gore has been slightly altered. The straps are very comfortable. The bra in general is very comfortable, and all in all I'd say if it's something you think would be good for your shape, then definitely go for it. Read more 151 more words
Appearance: Black base and straps, leaf and twig pattern in a dark teal color and dots in three colors: off-white, orange and a powdery color that looks like a mixture of both. Bows and lace in a bright, orange-toned red. Strongly reminds me of Christmas but I like it well enough. Found the colorway surprisingly flattering on my very fair skin.
Shape: Uplifted but a little pointy for my taste. Bras I Hate's green shape.
Band fit: Seemed nice and snug. When I tried the Ivy in 28HH, I could immediately fasten the band on the 2nd set of hooks (even though the cups were too small) but in this 28J ...it feels tighter. I love three hooks and eyes, it just makes me feel very secure in a bra. Plus no back rolls.
Cup fit: Not exactly ideal on me. I had a Freya fold and the cups wrinkled slightly close to the center.
Wire fit: The wire width felt good and they didn't poke my armpits. But I suspect the center gore was too wide for me. It wouldn't lie flat and one of the wires sat on my breast tissue because the other one took up all the space between my boobs.
Straps: Very wide, in my opinion. Made from a stretchy material and felt comfortable. Also, if you need very long straps, look no further. I could adjust them all the way, which felt okay for now, but taking into account that the straps might stretch a little over time, they are not short enough. I would have liked to be able to tighten them a little further. Tightening the straps was also very difficult due to the strap's design. Loosening them felt rather easy, though.
A nice bra but there are too many issues for me, the biggest being the center gore. Also, the bra came up rather high on me and felt like a lot of fabric on my frame. I feel that this bra was designed for women taller than me (1,60 cm). Read more 222 more words
I LOVE the colors in this bra! I really wanted the longline, but this did the job for me. Cups are silky and smooth. Lace is not scratchy and it fits very well. The very tips of the cups are juuuuuust empty, but it doesn't bother me enough to get rid of it.
Freya's Ivy Balcony Bra is really pretty, but was not a good fit for me. The band was a little loose and the top of the cup was very very loose. The bra fit well at the gore, the straps, and the band (mostly). I think my full on the bottom, shallow, and wide set breasts don't have enough on the top to fill this particular bra.
This is bra is so very pretty. I initially had doubts about the whole orange and black and teal thing, but this is gorgeous. I first tried this on in a shop in 32HH. The volume seemed okay-ish, but the band was too loose, so we tried a 30 - the shop didn't have a J, sadly. So I ordered it off Bravissimo. 30 band is on the spot, at least, this band is pretty loose. Now, I'm in doubt if I really need a sliightly larger cup size or not, at least on my left breast (the larger). The cup wrinkles slightly in a spot above my nipples, but is otherwise well filled. My breasts are close-set, and the gore tacks sort of but not entirely, that's what has me in doubt. The straps are wide, but have this scratchy edging. Aside from that it's a pretty good bra. And so pretty!
- Comfort: Excellent. - Underwire: Excellent. - Cups: Problematic - Loose fabric/fold on top, enough room to slip my hand in the top. - Gore: Slightly problematic - did not lie flush on chest, but that is because I have boobs that are very close together. - Band: Excellent - fits well but is quite stretchy, I can see this one stretching out too much in time. - Straps: Excellent. - Style: Ehrmagerd adorable.
This colourway is beautiful... the green and orange looks stunning. Even though it was a bad fit, it was very comfortable. I can see this style being good for day to day wear, as the material does not irritate at all. The underwires do not come up high so shouldn't poke those with a short torso.
Unfortunately, I got quadboob in this bra, wrinkling at the base of the cups, one wrinkle down the top half in the centre and the centre gore wouldn't go flat. I was a little surprised as the narrow centre gore is one of the reasons I purchased this bra ...(apart from the beautiful print). I think the material (which is a bit stiffer than my usual lace/mesh underwires) just weren't suited to my full-on-top breasts. Even in the next cup size, I would still get the wrinkling at the bottom.
It does stretch quite a bit, so I'd recommend possibly going down a band size. This one could be stretched up to 35-36 inches, so if you like a snug band, I'd go down to a size 30 band. Read more 82 more words
