Thank you so much for this review. I never made the connection with empty wire channel, but I had those same side flaps. I almost never see this fit issue on others and thought it was just me and my freakish boobs. I had to send Ellace back due to the side gaping. Ugh.

    • letstalkaboutbras A comment on my blog from someone who sews bras said there should be room for wire not to poke through but this is bad...I do not see it in my other bra brands 😔

I appreciate the extra space....I can move the wire away from the gore. :-) It is so interesting the variety of characteristics we all need. :-)

That's me too Love4Pollinators. I also took in the top of the cup by the wire. I think the extra room is to help folks with band tension on a more v shaped torso, something I definitely don't have.

If you take a tuck in the band in a wedge v dart shape at the seam where the band meets the cradle it will get rid of the extra loose fabric near the armpit in the cup . It properly tensions the band and allows the wire to spring .

    • Ivp Is that sewing terms? I don't sew so I would not be able to alter anything :(

It is , darn well future people that read it might be helped.

I just put a dart in today after reading this and it does really help. A seamstress could do it quite easily in about 10 mins.

I wish I had gone with the sister size of this in a 42F. I'm not actually sure if the cups were too small or I'm just too projected for this bra, but my main issue is that the band is just soooo uncomfortably tight. After a few hours I'm ready to cut it off. The wires slip down from my IMF and the bottom is slightly wrinkled and empty, meanwhile, the top is giving me slight quadriboob. I ordered a 40G in this bra as well and I'm hoping that the size up in the cups will take some pressure off the band.

Edit: so a couple ... of weeks later, this bra has broken in somewhat and it's not physically painful to wear any more! I still think the cups are too small. But the band has stretched out somewhat and isn't cutting in any more. I'm not sure if the wires are wide enough actually. They might be pressing on tissue on the sides, but it's hard to tell. The wires are still slipping down. I tried wearing it with an extender, and it was a hot mess. Which solidifies for me that I am a solid 40 in the band.

  3. Kitty Babydoll (SG3317)

This babydoll is gorgeous and so figure-flattering. Anyone who is scared of getting a "pregnant look" from a regular babydoll will love this. The skirt is *almost* opaque enough to use as a regular nightgown (if one wanted to sleep in padded underwired bra), but not quite.

I sister-sized to 40FF due to availability, not knowing how tight the skirt was, and knowing that longlines feel tighter than a bra. Unfortunately, I lost weight while this was on it's way and the band won't hold the cups to my body.

I also ordered the regular bra in 38G. This feels a bit shallower near the wire, but I'm not ... sure if it's due to the longline style or the size difference. Either way, it still has great projection for a molded cup and a lot of center-fullness.

I really hope I find this in the right size.

    Just a few extra measurements.

Skirt: 18" waist to hem. 23.5" underarm to hem
Center gore: 3.75" to bottom of underwire.

Matching thong in size 24 is 19.5" across at waist, 9.6" tall, measured laying flat. Fabric is very stretchy.

    Hasn't set fit

I like the style but I didn't do my measurements correctly so it's too big. It is very soft on the inside and hooked to the smallest, it is super comfy but the wrong band size put the outer end of the wire way back under the arm. To be fair, it fit exactly as one would expect it to, on a bra that is too big in the band. The only other thing of note is the sides. They are of a super soft, super thin power net, with quite substantial elastic trim at the top and bottom. It works and is extremely comfortable but the thin, fine power net on such a substantial garment is sort of weird - but I suppose that's just "the way", these days.
