While reading through various news items that come up through my home page, I noticed a "sponsor content" item from True&co promising to forever rid me of the need to go bra shopping by sending a box of "beautiful bras" that anyone who becomes a customer of theirs will get to try. Now, their box of beautiful bras may be a great choice for those whose size falls into the A-D 32-38 range, but when I went to look on the website to see how their program works, seeing the statement that they can fit someone in 2 minutes without a measuring tape, just a quiz on the person's preferences (and I'm assuming they ask what size the person thinks they wear) made me want to start an email-to-the-business-to-tell-them-to-quit-doing-things-this-way campaign. Once I started taking their quiz, I was only 4 questions in before they asked me what my favorite brand and what size I wear, which of course had a popup window to tell me that I was out of their size range (32FF, why even have the sizes that are out of range show up in their pull-down choices menu!?) but I expected that would happen. They did at least let me continue on with the quiz so I got to see what other questions they asked; the options for breast fullness and distance between breasts were even more limited than the quiz on HerRoom.com; there was one question on differences in size that asked whether the larger breast was on the right or left, or were both breasts basically the same size; the description for how the gore fits seemed like it might be a little confusing or misunderstood by anyone yet to be initiated into world inhabited by bratabasers and seekers of the perfect bra fit, who are learning the nuances of bra fitting; and the overall assessment of their quiz from my perspective is that it's not nearly what it needs to be for even those who wear a size from their offered range to come to any real conclusion about their size, what will fit, and for any one bra in the box they'll send to fit and look good/be comfortable when put on along with throughout the hours the bra is worn. The reviews that my search turned up for True&co's box-o-bras using a quiz for fitting were anything but good. Seems like no one is thrilled with the fit results, and the bras that are available options to choose from aren't great either. The only bright spot in an otherwise dark and dismal picture is the free shipping and free return shipping - just don't dare to remove their "true tag" or you'll have bought the item, even if you try to send it back it's "implied through action" that you've agreed to the purchase.

  • That stinks though I can't say I'm surprised.

  • To be honest I really wasn't expecting to be in their range, but I was curious about how their box-o-bras service and the no measuring tape fitting quiz works.
