Issue resolved
should probably go up a cup size and down a band size
Original problem
the band feels like it's riding a bit up and it's too tight yet i have a lot of space in the back (maybe my posture is bad lol) also the cup on my left breast has space at the top. tried to fix it with the straps but it stayed that way :/ not sure if i should go up a size because of the gap because I'm afraid it would make the gap even bigger. maybe I'm just full on bottom? not sure. it's the first bra I'm trying with my new measurements, i wore before that 34c and that new bra fits so much better, just not 100%, but it improved dramatically. any advice would help. thanks!

helpfulNeither here nor there but your picture #3 is exactly how I used to stand when wearing Victoria's Secret bras, that were 2 band size too big! (I wore 34 when I should've been 30 band). It was bad for my posture and it made my shoulders ache - as soon as I had a well-fitting band I could put my shoulders back. Anyway, that's just what it reminded me of.
Have you tried any 28 bands. Maybe try a 28F, that would be a sister size down.
If you're having issue just on one cup, MOST people are slightly asymmetrical. Wearing a bra with stretch lace can even out the appearance (so the top of the cup will just stretch to fit either side).
I don't think the band is good for you though, it even looks like it's riding up in the back, from picture #3.
I'm not sure which country you're in, and if you're using amazon? But hopefully you can find some more bras to try on easily?
Too bad, it's kind of a cute bra!

BraOdyssey hi! actually i was posing like this on purpose just to show the back of the bra, it doesn't make my shoulders ache or changes my posture haha. the band actually feels a bit too tight and i feel like the cups are not covering enough of the top of my breasts but I'm very new to this "good fit" thing so i just wanted some reassurance:)

If you feel like the band is riding up in the back, then it's prob too loose.
However, band is also a matter of personal preference. I notice you measure 28" for "comfortable ribcage"
Depending on your preference, you may or may not find 28 band too tight.
Freya is known for having a looser bands, so you could maybe try a 28F in Freya? Freya isn't my favourite brand, but they are widely available though.

BraOdyssey my bra fits well in my IMF but its just feels too short and like it's not covering the top of my breasts well... if I'll go up a cup size and down a band size I'm scared I'll have more gap in the top of my cups and the wires would be too big... i added a back shot and another side pic where I'm standing naturally and you could see more of how the bra fits me there, please check it out and tell me what you think :) right now I'm still not sure about what size i should get, but it's probably in the range of 28FF-28F-30E-30F-30FF as redditors, abrathatfits calculator and bratabase recommended me. sizing also changes between brands and models and bra shapes which really sucks, and i don't even know what model i should get for my shape... the only thing i know is that it should be another side support bra because of my wide set frame. it helps balance everything out to me.

ohh, I see. Your pics have to be approved first and it usually takes a couple days, so I can't see the addt'l pictures r.n., but I'll try checking back again.
yes, you 100% have it correct - people vary their size depending on the brand, and sometimes even the style/model of a particular bra. Starting out to find one's best fit is a bit of an investment in $ AKA, having to buy regular price instead of clearance items so you can return them if it doesn't fit.
Interesting you said it feels too short; then maybe you have tall roots.
As far as the band, I read somewhere that "most people where a band two inches larger than their firm band measurement." I read that from someone on A BRa That Fits; of course this varies between person, but that would put you at a 30 band.
I would be curious to see what you look like in some other bras, if you have access to Amazon, I know Amazon Prime or Amazon "Try Before You Buy" has several UK brands available to try on.

brabaseshit If you look at this bratabaser https://www.bratabase.com/profile/wa/ She lists all of her sizes in the various brands - you can see the variety she has! Sometime she has different sizes depending on the style, but still with the same brand.

BraOdyssey the pics showed up right after i uploaded them but now they disappeared :/ i could try that amazon prime feature with the free trial but i'm not sure which bras offer that try before you buy thing? i can't find it on the regular amazon, i expected to see something like "try before you buy accessible" next to the bras that offer that but it doesn't show up at least not in what i checked out. at least i know my range now, 30E feels much better than my old 34c but it could very much that my best fitting bra might be 28F/FF since 30E is doesn't feel like a 100% good fit. any side support bra models you recommend? for projection and support? unfortunately this fantasie bra might look supporting in pictures but in person it looks pointy and unsupported under clothing... i like the more round and supported look i get from the average type of bras (not the pushup ones)

Hmm, interesting. Yes, I can see the pictures now!
Looking at the back photo and comparing it to how I like my bras - I like a very tight band, so the band generally looks a bit tighter than what you are showing on your picture. But band tightness is a matter of personal preference as well, so you do you.
Hmm, it's honestly kind of difficult when you start out in the beginning to find the right shape but usually on the A Bra that Fits forum, people will recommend two Panache bras - the Panache Envy or the Panache Jasmine - as a sort of "diagnostic bra" as far as size. and to compare shape. So maybe try out either of those?
-
Note: I find the wires on Panache to be too hard to wear personally. Even though I get a pretty good fit in the Panache Envy. YMMV!
-
BraOdyssey i heared that panache envy is a bit tighter in band so if i want to go with 28 i should go with 30 in this model. so i could try out 30F/FF and see? i could use bratabase to compare my measurements of the fantasie bra to measurements of the panache envy in 30F/FF and see what and how much exactly changes in band and cup size. i'm just afraid it won't be a good fit in my IMF because i did feel like the fantasie one was holding my breasts well from the sides. bigger cups means bigger wires and i'm not sure how it'll turn out for me... i agree that i do need to try and experience some more! i just wish things were more accessible so it wouldn't have to be such a long journey :( do you think the bra fits my breasts well based on my new side pic? it feels a bit too low for me but i'm still not sure what is acceptable and what is considered a bad fit :)
-
The Fantasie bra looks okay, but it doesn't look like a great fit b/c of the tops of the cups. It looks like - from the front - there's space at the top of the cup on both sides.
If the cup is otherwise okay, a bra with stretch lace can stretch to fit, but this bra doesn't look like the lace is very stretchy.
I'm curious to see what you look like in a Panache bra. yeah, I think it would be good to go with 30F.
-
BraOdyssey i just got panache envy in 30F! it would probably arrive in two weeks though. if 30F in panache envy is actually 28F then i'm very curious to see how it fits me :)
-
Great! I'm so excited for you!
The Panache Envy should help to diagnose your shape. -
BraOdyssey thanks! not sure how i could update you though, should i keep this fit fitting request open?
-
Um, you can keep it open as long as your looking for more comments/suggestions.
When you get your next bra, you can open another fit request on that one.
