I am normally around a UK 30F, but this bra seems to fit pretty tightly, especially in the band. There's no way I could get into my usual band size, seeing as the 32 band was about right on the biggest hooks. Unfortunately, the department store where I buy my bras (The Bay in Canada) doesn't carry any bras in double-letter sizes, so I couldn't find the 32FF I would've preferred.
The bra is very comfortable, although because it's a sports bra, it doesn't really separate the breasts. It's also very good at controlling bounce during activity, and the styling is unique. It's ...made so you can wear it as gym outerwear, so be aware that if you want to wear it under clothing, the seams will likely show a bit. It's also thicker than a regular bra, so before you get used to it, it can make you feel a little too hot.
I've got three bras of this model and size, all of which I've taken in a bit at the back. The oldest two are two years old and I still wear them, although I've had to take them in more at the back to compensate for the stretching of the band. They're very high-quality bras and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Read more 117 more words
Very short-waisted, center full, close set, immediately projected, omega shape, slightly narrow breasts....
This Shock Absorber model is well-suited for shorter roots and short-waisted physiques. However, its size range is more limited than other models which poses a problem for me.
Because it is so lightweight and simultaneously supportive, I long for this bra to fit. Additionally, this model is a good choice for those who dislike j-hooks and pull-over sports bras. It allows for center projection and separates a bit. Airflow is important in high temperatures https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />
Although it creates the "upside down seven" shape, it feels comfortable everywhere except under my arm at the top edge of the cup. I need a millimeter or so more space than the bra allows. Because it is not made in a 34FF, I may purchase a 36F and hope the scaling doesn't dwarf my short-waisted, petite stature. We'll see...
Tall and/or low-set users, look for another option. Shorties, rejoice! This may fit.
I've tried this when I was a bit thinner (in a 28H I think, or 30H) and I didn't like the support. No underwire? Somehow did not work for me even though I am very short and petite too :( The only 2 sports bras that seem to work for me are the Freya active underwired (this is very trusty) and the panache sports bra. The former didn't stock 28H (I think now they do??), leading me to panic when I was in my country (Asia not known for busty women), and led to a torn ligament, which has resulted in my getting plump from lack of exercise, and right now trying to lose it....
Ouch! A torn ligament sounds painful! I so hope this injury heals quickly for you, lorraineyang101
Just curious have you tried one cup size down? I think the unused height here suggests you might. Since there are no wires, it won't cause pinching, and it could help with the underarm issue
wendybien Yes, when my breasts were smaller I tried the 32F.
I read it was tight so I ordered a 34 instead of a 32 which is usually my size. I find it fits me fine. It is not too tight nor too loose. The fabric is extremely elastic (in a good way) so I don't think a 32 would be too too tight. It is a good fit overall, but I ordered a few for choice and preferred how I felt with the Panache Sports Bra. It is definitively supportive and reduces bounce well, maybe a tiny bit more than the Panache one. The material also looks really really great.
What I didn't like: First, the upper hook is very ...difficult to fasten. (It has 2 lines for fastening, both with 2 hooks). Then, I didn't feel totally comfortable with it. It kind of presses my boobs on top so it doesn't help me getting the rounded shape that I would like. I prefer bras with underwires because the lift my breast up from the bottom. Also, being non wired it gives you a mono-boob shape that I don't find very flattering.
It is a good bra, great quality, supportive and comfy. I just felt better with the Panache one.
Finally I've got it after 2,5 weeks of waiting. I've been told that the condition of this bra is very good, but the hook is smashed, I have to replace it. I found that weak fastening is very often problem with new constructions of SA bras. This is another one with hook problem. The first one was brand new and I knew about the damage. The oldest models don't have this defect.
edit: I've replaced the hook. The bra is nearly perfect https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> I use the middle row.
This is a really great bra for any activity. Kick boxing, jump roping, you name it. I had to buy a size down, but I bought the same brand and almost the same style after having had a good experience with this one. However, one of the hooks did fall off and needs to be repaired. I think the hook coming off was a design flaw, because it only has a two hook system, and three would be better.
It was an absolute nightmare getting this bra on, the back is ridiculously tight yet gave absolutely no bounce control at all to my bust (wide, short roots, slightly fob) It hurt like hell to do up the racer back, squished my bust and gave me quadboobs. Horrid
This seems like a good quality bra but ordered the wrong size so it does not fit me. It is brand new with tag still attached. It is wire free with a racer back and has a headphone wire holder attachment.
In general, Shock Absorber bras run small in the band, so if you're looking at purchasing one you should consider this fact beforehand - I fit into a 32 band size for Curvy Kate bras, for example, but a Shock Absorber 32F wouldn't even fasten - and I tried!
I ordered a 34E instead, and that one fit well in the band. However, the bra kind of cut into my body at the level of the cup sides/tops - I wasn't sure if it was supposed to feel like that, since I'm a bit chubby and what seemed to be the actual breast was contained nicely within the ...bra. I ended up purchasing a 34F from Amazon (bless free returns!), just in case, and the bigger cup size ended up being a great fit.
I tested the 34F out with a 30-minute run and I'm very pleased with the way it works. there was minimal - if any at all - bouncing, and I didn't feel it tight on me - on the contrary, the more I run, the less I perceived it. It was very comfortable to wear, and I quickly got used to the two sets of hooks in the back - it's definitely doable, and especially for the upper hooks, I just needed to lengthen the straps in order to reach them with my fingers. The bra is way too small in the band, unfortunately https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> The material is great, really comfortable and soft. I've tried 36E and it was too big in the band, this one I can't fasten. So I think there are differences between colors – as usual. I'll have to try 34F in black, then I'll see.
It creates mono-boob. I don't mind the shape or whatever. I hate my boobs are touched. It brings discomfort and it hurts when I shake my body or jump really hard. I might have a small cup size, I don't know. See my review of SA Run, I compare https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> .
