    28F

    Didn't fit

The 28F has the same issues as the 28E but it's way better. If I found it for a relatively good price I'd make it work. Of course, because I'm returning it I can't really test it by working out with it but it seems pretty supportive. Maybe not enough for running but it would have its uses. The little bit of space at the bottom of the cup might bother me but I could add padding or sew it somehow. I get a little quadboob but I think I could live with it. The double set of hooks makes it a little harder to put on but the extra support and comfort is worth it. I also like the way it looks and prefer the compressed look to the pointy boob I've gotten with other sports bras.

Overall it's a great bra but would better for someone with a more compatible shape.

    28E

    Didn't fit

This bra just does not work with my shape. It's made for someone with wider breasts than mine - you can tell by the fabric alone. The bottom of the cups are too shallow so I don't fill them, and I quadboob at the top. It's decently supportive on the 3rd hook, but a smaller band size would be ideal. A 28F actually fits way better, but still has the same problems to a lesser extent.

That being said, it looks like it would be a great bra for someone with the right shape and size. I love that it has two sets of hooks in the back. ... True, it does make it a bit harder to put on but it also makes it more comfortable and supportive. It's really supportive and minimizes breasts. It has a bit of a flat look, but that is how people expect women to look with a sports bra. Not the pointy boob look I got with my freya sports bras (they were fantastically supportive though). It will show through a tight t shirt as you can see in a couple of my pictures, but I wouldn't mind too much.

(Bra worn on tightest hooks in pictures)

    30DD

    Didn't fit

Everything that I've heard about how TIGHT the band runs for this bra made me think a 30DD was worth trying. I was surprised at how loose it was... True, my snug underbust measurement is a 26, but I'm not even sure the 28 band will be tight enough for me. The cup seems a little small as well... I was definitely quadboobing. However, I'm not sure I was filling the bottom of the cup 100%... I saw a bit of a crease. I'm hoping it's because a bra in a 30 band just isn't going to work for my frame.

So I have a 28E and a 28F on the way for me to try... I hope I can make one of those work because there are a lot of things I like about the bra: no pointy boob like my old freyas, looks good overall, comfortable, and the best part is the hooks in the back - great for comfort, fit, and support.

    30G

    Didn't fit

This is the first sports bra in real cup sizes I've purchased, and tried reading up on how the sizing fits differently from regular bras. It definitely does not have enough cup volume for me, unfortunately. It's brand new with tags (tags were removed but are still in tact). When I put it on, the band felt tighter than a 30 band bra, but was still okay (you want tight bands when working out, right?). My boobs were definitely squished, and I need a bigger cup volume, so I'm guessing (and would like to try) a 32G would work much better.

    30GG

    Didn't fit

I have this same bra in both a 32G and a 30GG. Both fit nearly the same, but I decided to try the 30GG because I thought it would give me a bit more coverage on the top of my boobs. My boobs are tall, so I don't think this would be an issue for most ladies. I was right, the 30GG is a slightly better fit, but the 32G is still very, very wearable. I really needed more than one sports bra, and I loved the 4490 the first time, so that's what I bought the second time, too.

Excellent sports bra, but does run small. I normally wear about a 30G, but am in between sizes, with a 29 inch underbust measurement. Most ladies do best to size up a band and a cup in this one.

    34DD

    Didn't fit

This was listed on Amazon as a 34E, but it turned out to be a US 34E/UK 34DD. The band runs really tight and I doubt it's because it's a cup smaller than my real size. I can wear it for two hours, max, before it really starts to hurt. Unfortunately, when I received it I was too eager and removed the tags so I didn't even try to exchange it. I needed a sports bra! I would recommend going up a band size and down a cup size.

As far as support is concerned, it's supportive but my breasts still bounce. I also get a uniboob. If you don't want a uniboob, go for a sports bra with underwire.

    28E

    Didn't fit

Bought this off another bratabase user and man was she right when she said the band ran tight. I prefer tight bands but even with a 26" tight underbust this thing was stretched as far as possible to get around my underbust. The cups are also at least one cup too small, but even with the bra on backwards the band still doesn't allow nearly enough room for breathing, which is obviously important during physical activity when I would be wearing this.

The shape isn't too flattering, which isn't too unusual for a compression bra and it's probably exacerbated by the too small cups as well. I do prefer the shape of my Panache Sport, but I really think I prefer wireless for sports bras.

It's such a shame because I love the double hooks and it seems like it would be very comfortable/supportive in the right size. I also love the color but I'm having trouble finding the coral/charcoal colorway online anywhere :/

    34F

    Fits

In general, Shock Absorber bras run small in the band, so if you're looking at purchasing one you should consider this fact beforehand - I fit into a 32 band size for Curvy Kate bras, for example, but a Shock Absorber 32F wouldn't even fasten - and I tried!

I ordered a 34E instead, and that one fit well in the band. However, the bra kind of cut into my body at the level of the cup sides/tops - I wasn't sure if it was supposed to feel like that, since I'm a bit chubby and what seemed to be the actual breast was contained nicely within the ... bra. I ended up purchasing a 34F from Amazon (bless free returns!), just in case, and the bigger cup size ended up being a great fit.

I tested the 34F out with a 30-minute run and I'm very pleased with the way it works. there was minimal - if any at all - bouncing, and I didn't feel it tight on me - on the contrary, the more I run, the less I perceived it. It was very comfortable to wear, and I quickly got used to the two sets of hooks in the back - it's definitely doable, and especially for the upper hooks, I just needed to lengthen the straps in order to reach them with my fingers.

    32E

    Fits

So I went up one cup size from my usual 30E/32DD and it fits much better in this style. I get less armpit fat/side overspill and also there's enough room for breathing (the 32DD felt a little too constricting).
Surprisingly, the 32E is as supportive as the smaller size.

The only letdown is the flattened shape - but that's something you have to live with in a compression sports bra. I don't really care as long as it's comfy and keeps my boobs from bouncing.

Wow, everyone wasn't joking when they say Shock Absorbers run tight in the band! This actually wouldn't be a terrible thing for me, as I am a runner. But the cups also run extremely small (for reference I usually wear my Panache Sport in 28E during exercise). This feels like a tight 28D. My breasts were spilling out the tops and sides (I was able to fasten it so no spilling out the bottom). If I were to purchase again, I'd probably have to get a 28FF or G (who knows?). But if you got the correct size in this bra, I can see it really helping reduce bounce.

I love the (adjustable) racerback hooks on this bra. It keeps the usuals bra-straps away from my arms and gives me total freedom while climbing and running. It gives absolute support, it really honours its name. I have never worn a better sports bra. After two years I still wear it on the outer most hook, showing the non-stretching quality.
I did buy this one size to big (at the time), because my usual size was way too small; this shows that this brand uses real sizes, a 60 is 60 cm.
Because of its perfect snug fit, it gets kinda uncomfortable after wearing it for a full day, but luckily that doesn't happen often.

The Shock Absorber is a compression sports bra. Pros: colors, good compression = less bounce, straps are nice, wide & padded. Cons: the shape isn't great (droopy) and at least for me at this time in this size, the band is super tight, but I almost want to to be even tighter on my boobs, but if I tighten the straps I get quad boob up out at my neck. I liked it a lot better before I feel in love with the Panache Sport. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Still a good option for exercising with breasts though!

    34GG

    Didn't fit

Design and Quality: This bra is clearly very well made. The stitching is done superbly, and the main fabric of the bra is a beautiful light, silky, breathable fabric. However, the fabric of the band seems like it might 'ball up' in the wash, unfortunately. Perhaps not in a lingerie bag. Being a sports bra, the design is very simple, but the seams almost look like intentional patterns so that's nice.

Straps: Oooh, padded straps! Love the idea of them and they're just as comfy as I expected. This bra seems to sit too low on my chest, but I would not blame an insufficient amount of strap ... adjustment for this issue. When the straps are adjusted to their shortest, I don't think I would want them to go much shorter. If they could be adjusted shorter, the top edge of the bra may come up uncomfortably high and the sides may cut into the underarms more.

Cups: I measure as a 32GG, but bought the 34GG after being advised by Bratabase users that this bra runs small in both cup and band. The cups push my boobs up very high, almost to my collar bones, leaving the lower portion of the bra quite empty and causing the bra to cut into the breast tissue that has been pushed up at the top and sides. This feels uncomfortable and looks unflattering. The bra cuts in at the sides more than the top, making it mildly painful there, and where it cuts in at the top it simply puts a little strain on my breathing. Because there is no underwire, I'm sort of confused as to wear my boobs are supposed to sit. At the front, the lowest point of the horizontal seams which sit under each breast are only just above my underbust. Then there's like 3" of empty wrinkling fabric! In photos of other women wearing this style, their breasts seem to fill the entire bottom section almost right up to the band. I feel like this size might work if all my breast tissue sat lower on my chest. I don't consider my breasts high-set or full on top, but I've definitely got more breast tissue filling the top portion of this bra that the lower portion. From the side, my boobs certainly look compressed, but not unflatteringly so. Despite the tissue at the top and sides, a nice round shape is indeed created.

Support: Oh boy! Despite the fit issues, the support is still incredible. I jumped around and had a quick run to the top of my street and back- enough to test out its basic capabilities without getting sweat on this bra since I don't think I'm keeping this size. I was very impressed. I actually purchased the bra for light exercise like walking and yoga, but feel I could absolutely use it for jogging too. I felt almost no bounce and like zero impact pain.

Band: With the way the bra cuts in under the arms, my arms are too restricted in this bra to get the back done up as I usually would (last) so I had to do the old 'round the waist do up first. No big deal, really, but made it a bit difficult to get up and over my boobs and settled into place. On a hot day, getting into it would probably give me a panic attack though. It felt tight in the back getting it on and into place but less so after. The band does still feel very snug as the fabric has little give. I measure 32" comfortably, but bought the 34 because it was said to fit like a 32. I does feel as snug as a 32 to me, but it rides up at the back and the band at the front folds over on itself. I can also fit my whole hand under the band with a little effort.

Honestly, this bra is what I wear a week before my period. Even before I went up several cup sizes, this bra didn't fit comfortably for exercise. I couldn't run in it because after a few blocks my breasts felt like they were being impacted into my ribcage, and I couldn't breathe. But the compression is nice sometimes, so I keep it around.

As a sports bra, it worked great in that there was little bounce. It didn't work so well in that I have super dense breasts, and they were being pressed into my ribcage. It is well made, but as a sports bra, it doesn't work for my dense boobs, and I won't be getting a better size.

WOW this bra runs tight. I'm around a 28F/28FF or 30E/30F depending on the brand and style, but this bra I needed a 30FF in! The band runs very firm and I don't think I'd be able to wear it in a 28 at all, even though I have a 27" ribcage. Otherwise, it's a great sports bra and really keeps the girls in.

    30F

    Didn't fit

I purchased this bra because I wanted a sports bra that takes only a small space in my gym bag. The bra looks good and I like the colours, turqouise and purple.

I usually wear 28F but read here that it runs small in the band and cups, so I got 30F. I think the fit is good, the band is tight but I can close it. Funny how the bra looks almost a flat piece of cloth, but when you put it on, there is room for boobs https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" />

If I swoop and scoop my boobs to the front and up, they look ... a little smashed together. o maybe I shouldn´t S&S , at least not much? Some very minor quadboob is happening, but it is so minor, that I wouldn´t mention it. I think this is my right size but I´ll set a fit request.

The bra feels okay when wearing it. It is tight, but comfortably so. I haven´t tried it for gym yet.

ETA. I got a 30FF and it fits better, there is not any quadboob. So now I know that this 30F is a tiny bit too small for me. It is still okay enough for me to keep it!
