    • Kinda cool bra for who has already "enough" solid&comfortable stuff. But its so expensive ...

I agree, on all the "real person" photos (not stock photos) I've seen, when the bra is on, that satin part does not sit right on the wearer. It looks like it is missing something, like maybe it should have been gathered at the center or there should be SOMETHING else going on with it. The design looks unfinished. At least it looks like a very nice fit on you in this size! I wonder if you can take off that weird satin part or maybe attach two chiffon panels to make a babydoll?

    • It is - I would not pay so much for it. This bra was sent to me for review purposes for free, and I admit, it is a pretty bra, but it is not very luxurious-feeling or great design-wise.

I wish Curvy Kate would make an actual luxury line: softer, thicker elastics, softer fabrics, higher quality stitching, better graded straps and bands and former wires for larger band and cup sizes, etc. As well as a more mature, elegant style with finer embroidery or patterns like the Bardot sometimes. I find Scantilly to be pretty ridiculous in general, probably because it looks to me to be a teenagers idea of what bondage looks like. Although their most recent styles are getting better and I like the gender neutral and ouvertboptions. Still, Marlene Dekkers does it much better.

I'm still getting that flamingo bra in the spring though. Because there's always a place in my heart for kitsch and birds.

    Didn't fit

Cups too small. Band too big. Still wearable fastening it on the innermost hook and not caring about quadboobs. Half cup bras are definitely not my best option.

    Hasn't set fit

Scantilly All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra 30F
Before purchase, I suspected 30F would be my best size in this bra. This turned out to be true. I also predicted the bra itself wouldn’t suit me. This also turned out to be true, but for surprising reasons.
    (1) Top edges of cups very slightly tilt outward. There is no gapping at the top of the cups. It’s almost as though the lip of each cup is thicker than the rest of the cup. In reality there is only a seam where it’s stitched down, as with all cut-and-sew bras, padded or unpadded.
    (2) Straps are slightly more wide-set than I prefer in front, as ... in the 30FF, but the cups are lower coverage than the 30FF’s cups, so the point where strap attaches to cup is lower down. As a result, the straps don’t dig in at the front.
    (3) The profile is very rounded and slightly minimized. It looks very much like a half cup bra’s profile. I had about a dozen half cup bras whose fit and shaping I adored. I had to stop wearing them because the gores were too high and painful. The Scantilly All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra doesn’t create massive cakes-on-a-plate cleavage, the way a half cup bra does.
    (4) The cups are made of thin foam material cut and sewn in a balconette shape. A sheer black, polka dot fabric overlays the cups. The black fabric is ruched at the bottom of the cups, above the inside third of each underwire. This fabric is very easily snagged. It does, however, help disguise the seams under clothing.
    (5) The wings are only 3” high, which is a half inch shorter than my Ewa Michalak 3D bras’ wings. This is a serious drawback for me. I have enough side tissue that 4” high wings wouldn’t be amiss.
    (6) The bra is fairly unobtrustive under clothing. I tried it under my two favorite light colored knit tops. Under the clingier one, my chilled nipples are faintly evident despite the foam cups. Less evident are the diagonal seams of each cup and the top edges of the cups. Under my thinner but less clingy top, the diagonal seams, top edges of the cups, and my nipples are not evident, but you can see the cups are not entirely smooth in the inner third toward the gore, where the overlay fabric is ruched. I believe if you didn’t know the fabric was ruched, however, you wouldn’t notice the texture underneath the top. I should note my nipples, when cold, will make themselves known through any padded bra, at least a little bit. This is a consequence of their being small and centered on forward facing breasts.
    (7) I compared the visibility of the Scantilly Plunge to my 65F Ewa Michalak Paris Paris 3D bra. Under my clingier, light colored knit top, the lace at the top of the Paris Paris bra’s cups was somewhat evident, but the top edges of the cups were not visible. My nipples and the vertical seams of the Paris Paris were about as visible as nipples and diagonal seams of the Scantilly Plunge. I prefer the Paris Paris bra’s lace being visible over the Scantilly’s top edges being visible.
    (8) The cups’ coverage in 30F surprised me. I often have two problems when seeking a plunge bra from major UK manufacturers like Panache: cups that cover too much and center gores that aren’t low enough. Masquerade, formerly one of Panache’s lines, a few seasons ago released Ardour, a padded, seamless plunge bra. Ardour would have been incredibly useful if it hadn’t come up so high on my chest. Just because my breasts can fill out a bra doesn’t mean I want to wear that bra when it covers a third of my torso. Scantilly’s All Wrapped Up covers about the same amount as my Ewa Michalak 3Ds in 65F, of which I have about ten. The coverage is as skimpy as I’ve been able to find. On my petite frame, that means the coverage looks like that of a typical balconette bra. I understand my boobs are on the firm side for unaltered breasts. That, combined with my petite frame, perhaps means I can wear skimpier cups than most people. Still, I wish there were more low coverage plunge bras with wings on the high side for people like me.
    (9) There is a lot of excitement but very little data about Scantilly’s new releases. I ordered the All Wrapped Up Plunge Bra in three sizes to capture the measurements. I wanted to see how it compares to my other bras, all of which are plunges. All Wrapped Up surprised me by having reasonably low coverage cups. However, the snag prone overlay fabric, slightly tilted cup edges, and very low wings persuaded me to return all the three sizes. If I weren’t worried about the long-term behavior of that sheer fabric and the cup edges, I would think a while longer about returning the 30F. For their sake, I hope Scantilly’s next iteration of a plunge bra addresses these issues. If their wings continue to be extremely low, I’ll never keep any of their plunges.
    (10) I took advantage of the Figleaves Black Friday promotion, which was 25% off sitewide with free shipping. I’ll only be out the cost of return shipping, to an address within the US. I may try to return these in a padded envelope to save money. I highly recommend planning for this promotion, which this year ran for several days, not just on the day after Thanksgiving in the US.

Very nice bra, but I got slight quadding, and felt like I might fall out. I'll try ordering a 30FF.

Loved this bra! Boyfriend did, too. But the wire was too high under my arms.
