I love the retro look of this bra, including the fact it gives me a cone shape (since cone shape is part of the pinup lifestyle) it fits my larger breast perfectly, but the smaller one has some gaping but that could also be because the straps are to wide for me....
Meh. I'm a bit disappointed by this bra. In theory, it's great: a nice nude bra with some fancy lace detailing, a go-to basic that also has a little of it's own pizzazz. In reality, "European nude" it is not - unless you count cadavers. It's definitely more "greige" than beige, some kind of no man's land between nude, taupe, and grey. Not a pretty color at all. I could have easily overlooked the color if it had a good fit, and I ought to mention the fabric is undoubtedly superb (seriously, whatever they're putting in the lycra over at Parfait, it's ...magical). But ugh, the fit.
Here's the thing: It's got this separate piece of fabric inside (I guess the kids are calling it a "sling") but I can't fathom this thing working in ANYONE's favor. Maybe if your boobs are already set close together and if they are kind of perky on their own, maybe. But it was the most bizarre looking lumps I have ever seen. Why not just make the whole inner section in the support fabric? As it is, there's a bulge where the sling drops off and my boobs succumb to gravity again. All that, plus the top edge of the fabric cuts in, and the shape is down-ward pointing (probably because they only put the non-stretch fabric in that stupid sling, and the rest of the bra is sadly stretchy. Who's idea was that?)
So, no, this bra didn't work on several different levels. I'm disappointed, because I really like my Charlotte and I was hoping Parfait had something good to offer in the non-padded department. Somebody get those silly slings out of the bras. Read more 187 more words
The band of this bra isn't nearly as stretchy as I anticipated. I believe I'll need to return it for a 34. The band and the stiff "boning" on the sides dug into my skin horribly and pinched the flesh on my back together in a weird and uncomfortable way.
The fabric of the cup is very wide and obstructed arm movement, through the day it began digging into my armpit. This isn't the wire, it's the upper part of the cup where the band is fastened.
I was unable to get the straps fitted properly. Either they were too tight, or if I loosened them they fell down. I ...also had trouble hiding them under the sleeveless shirt I was wearing. The shoulders of the shirt were very die and went all the way to the top of my arm, but the straps are just incredibly wide set.
I really want to like this bra. The gore was comfortable and didn't dig in. The cups seemed to fit me well and provided a smidge of cleavage without risk of falling out.
But the band and the straps are killing me. Read more 79 more words
I bought this bra online, and would have to disagree with sizing up in the band. I ordered this bra in a 32F, up from a 30F, since I'd read that it ran small in both the band and the cups.
While the band isn't huge on me, i have it fastened on the middle hook and can comfortably fasten it on the tightest. After wearing for a day, I think a 30 would be more comfortable. I will be altering the band.
The straps are fully adjustable, so if you are petite or your breasts are high on your chest, you can shorten them to your hearts content. ... The red is a beautiful colour, and the black details really make it pop.
The cups covers most of the breast, so it's comfortable enough for everyday, and you don't have to worry about falling out the top. I would say that the cups feel rather thick, though. They are foam, and you can compress them between your fingers, so maybe they just give the illusion of being thicker than they are. Read more 73 more words
I was concerned about getting this bra after my unsuccessful attempt with the Parfait By Affinitas Danielle Contour Bra (8501) - I thought perhaps I may have similar problems with the shape of the molded cups and find the padding uncomfortable. But my worries were for nothing! This bra is great.
Aesthetically, I LOVE the styling of this bra. I'm a fan of the retro pin-up look, and this bra definitely appeals to that sense. The red is a super-flattering color (red tends to be a good color for me, as I have pink undertones in my skin) and I really like ...the black piping along the seams and cup edges. I also liked the use of both the shiny side and the matte side of the satin - parts of the cups (the center gore, side slings and wings) have a glossier finish to provide contrast to the matt fabric elsewhere. The matching panties also use the contrasting finishes as well. A note about the panties - they do run small. I normally wear a medium, but the seller only had them in large. I figured what-the-hey and took them and to my surprise they fit quite well. So to those of you who want to buy this bra with matching undies, I recommend sizing up.
As for the bra, I could not ask for a more perfect fit. Everything about the cups and band simply works for me, despite my issues with other padded bras. I find the padding is not super thick, more like a light foam lining. It is definitely not as flexible as an unlined bra, but certainly not as thick as to cause fit issues or to feel like uncomfortable armor. I would say the padding is on par with the Deco as far as thickness and stiffness go. The wires are the perfect width and the straps and armpit edge of the cup are shaped nicely so as not to cut in. And as this is the plunge version of the Charlotte, the gore comes up to a nice height for low-cut shirts. Considering how low- and wide-set my boobs are, I get pretty good uplift and some modest cleavage. I know some people claim that Parfait bras run small, particularly in the band, I didn't really find this to be the case. I would say it is about as tight as my 32F Cleo Lucy - I find the band and cup volume to be rather comparable. They are both firm bands that I would place it between a 32 and 30, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend sizing up.
Overall, I'm super pleased with this bra and am glad to have another mainstay in my wardrobe.
It feels like it compresses my breast tissue in and back towards my arm pits, similar to a sports bra. It doesn't have the projective qualities of most bras my size, Cleo, Freya, etc. It is so very soft though, and comfortable, would be great for a t-shirt bra the wires are a bit too wide though. If only the wires weren't so wide and it had more projection.
This bra was comfortable, and the lace doesn't show through at all under a t-shirt. For me, I'm still not positive if I had too small of cups or just the wrong style. I was falling out towards the center. From photos, I was told the cup was too small and I was also told that it was just the wrong style for me - the plunge might be too low. So for now, I'm trying something else.
A pretty bra, I think if it fit it would be a great bra for low-cut tops. The band was a bit loose, but not horribly so. It was comfortable, but with stretching I'm sure it would be loose very soon. I will be returning it and possibly exchanging for a better size shortly.
