Well, to my (kind of) amazement, this is my first Feathers bra to fit perfectly. I recently went down about a cup or so, and I just had a feeling that a 32C would fit over a 32D. Luckily someone ended up listing this as a give away, because I've wanted to try another but I haven't wanted to risk spending the price that they retail for just to try one. It also isn't feasible for me to just take a trip over to Nordstrom again just to size myself, as I've moved out into the boonies and I don't have my car/a parking spot at my new place. So, ...I'm super thankful that this popped up, and that it actually worked!
I did not want another 30 band in this, regardless of having tried a 32DD with a crazy big band that rode up; the 30 bands in these bras have been really uncomfortable for me. One even measured about 27-28" in a 30 band. In this one, I don't have any issues with the band riding up or digging in. I also don't have any of my previous issues with cup puckering on top or bottom. This bra has a width that actually works for me though, and the depth does also. I suspect that as the sizes increase, the bra gets more wide and shallow? Either that or I am becoming just a little more shallow.
As for the cup separation, it is still mildly too separate for my boobs, but not to the extent that it makes me quad at all. I am considering trying to sew it up to make the cups closer and give me an even better fit, but as of now, it doesn't bother me too much. After trying on the Claudette Dessous in 30E, I did notice that I have lost a little bit of center tissue, so this could also explain why the cup separation isn't as problematic as I'm used to.
So about the bra, it has fully adjustable straps, a lace band, about 1.4" cup separation, 5.2" cup width, and I believe about 7.2" cup depth. The width and depth seem perfectly fine to me https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_eek.gif" alt="o_O" /> This about matches my best fitting bras, which have 5-5.3" width and 7.3" depth, except they are very centered. I'm happy, considering I've wanted this bra to work for so long. The cups give a nice, rounded shape, and the mesh "sling" overlay on the cups is very comfortable where it hits on top. I've been wanting a nice fitting black bra for a while, so I'm happy =)
Edit: After wearing twice I realized that the separation did start to make me quad throughout the day. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Ahh what a shame. I love the Feathers bra so much. I guess this is just another Claudette Dessous for me. Maybe one day a narrow, close set, projected Feathers bra will be made. One can dream.
Edit 2: Just wanted to note that I altered the gore to make the wires overlap. The bra actually fits MUCH better now, but I feel a bit insecure about my bigger, left side having so little coverage. Think I ought to try this in a 32D or 30DD and alter the gore again, but for now this is the only thingcompatible with my lower tops. I think, because of the shape and consistency of my breasts, I may just be compatible with various types of bras (shallow and narrow or projected and narrow), though obviously projected and narrow are closer to my original shape. The Feathers in this size isn't wide like the others I've tried (30DDD,32DD), so keep that in mind
Glad you found what you were looking for! This was my first bra I got after I learned my correct size. I think you're right in that it does get wide and shallow as you size up. I have it in 30E, and it's pretty wide and shallow. I need to list it on here as I don't wear it anymore. Even in the wrong fit it was super comfy, I recommend it highly! Looks great on you :)
I'm glad this worked out for you. I am wide and shallow and although on paper this bra should fit me...it doesn't. I so want a Natori Feathers bra to fit, I keep trying them on when I can find them saying, "maybe this time it will fit".
Flutershie Thank you! And yeah, I had the 30E as well and I loved it. Such a nice bra :)
@thelittleone Thank you :) Aw, yeah I understand that. I'm not supposed to work well with shallow + wide bras, but I wanted this and Chantelle C Chic to work so badly for so long :( I'm glad I finally found something that works in this, but I don't think I'll ever have luck with the Chantelle. Good luck in your search for one though! It's a tricky bra IMO
Surprised to see no reviews on this bra yet! I found this one on Poshmark while struggling to find a bright red bra to match some lacy underwear I adore. This was the 3rd bra I purchased, and out of all of them this is the one that fit me perfectly! The design on the bra itself is gorgeous so I thought to myself that even if it didn't fit I'd still have to try some way to make it work. Thankfully that's not going to be the case! The band fits snug on me on the middle hook. The underwire is great, not too close-set or narrow for ...my wide-set breasts .The cups are the perfect depth for me as I have conical breasts and find I do best with a less projected cup. I think the fit is so great it actually gives my breast lift and makes them look perkier! There's also a side support panel that I don't really need having the small breasts that I do, but it does certainly make me feel snug. I'm writing this after having barely tried the bra on for more than 10 minutes, so I'll have to give an update if I notice anything going awry. Hoping for the best! Edit: Wore the bra out for a day, didn't sit perfectly on my IMF but could be just because the band isn't perfectly snug. Read more 123 more words
This bra is so pretty and fits my wide/conical breasts well. It almost even gives me a hint of cleavage, which is nearly impossible with my breasts. Even though it's low cut, my areolae do not peek out.
This is a beautiful bra! I'm just not sure I have the right size. It is a 32C.
***The gore tacks perfectly and there is no gapping in the bottom or the tops of the cups.
***The band feels somewhat too loose on the loosest hook (I used to wear 34 A), but quite snug on the tightest - I can still pull the band about an inch away on the tightest hook, but there is some "fat" overflowing on the sides/back of the band when it is on the tightest hook. I also have the bones from my ribcage right underneath my breast tissue and I can ...really feel the pinching more on the ribs when the band is on the tightest hook.
***I do feel like there is a tiny bit of space at the very bottom of the cups. When I scoop and swoop my right boob can fall out of the cup, yet the left one fits quite well (my right is bigger).
***The sides of bra seem to cut into my "armpit fat" and it is kind of annoying and uncomfortable - but the bra may relax over time and I might just get used to it.
I feel like maybe I should try a 30 D or 30 DD perhaps....makes me nervous because I am so darn bony right underneath my breast crease. I like a lot of things about this bra but something seems off....I am also getting used to not wearing a padded push-up for once in my life - I have worn push-up bras almost exclusively for years! This bra is my first effort to actually purchase a bra with a small enough band so that it actually...supports me, instead of just covering me.
I'm apparently a wide set 30D or 32C and I'm not very full at the top, so this bra was more or less the only one in stock at Nordstrom that fit me. Luckily, it's not a quite a solid foam t-shirt bra and it works with a lot of my clothes.
Wearing it for a couple of days, I can say it's fairly comfortable. After most of a day it starts to feel as if the band is too ...tight. I'll be interested to see if this works better as it stretches.
ETA, a month or so later - the Natori in 32C does fit me, but I'm finding that something about the underwire isn't quite right. Even though the wire seems to fall in the right place, it hurts at the outer side of the cup on the right after I've been wearing it for about half a day. I'm inclined to seek an alternate bra without an underwire... Read more 82 more words
It fits! Finally, a bra for work that does not have empty space in it. This is new so I cannot speak to how it will hold up over time, but it is so nice to finally find a shallow profile 32C in a contour bra, not heavy padding, just enough for work to make everything look smooth.
Pro: Perfect fit for my small (as in flat) but not narrow or pointy breasts. 32 fits comfortably around my ribcage, and the cups are the right size, in the right place, and finally the right volume as well, no gap or space at the top. Not busting out of it either, it fits just right.
Con: I think the band is a little big for a 32; can fasten it on the smallest hook when new. Expensive. Not many colors available.
Overall, very high recommend if you have similar shape.
Had to go up a cup size since 32B was almost exposing my nipples. Unfortunately this size didn't work out either. It's a thin lining but not too thin, I prefer more of a thicker lining when it comes to bras.
Second try on the so popular Feathers. Somehow this bra shows my asymmetry clearer than any others I've tried. The right is a bit more gapped than the 30C, probably from the difference in band length.
This band feels maybe too loose, whereas the 30 was too tight. It is just not very forgiving in either direction. My bra measurements came up basically the same for the cup parts, so the only difference is the tautness of the band.
This is really great if your shape is on the shallower side, since it's a balconette so you won't really have issues with the cup not matching your shape and making weird bumps. It doesn't seem to poke anywhere and in terms of the straps and cups, it's pretty much exactly like other Natori bras, so everything is pretty soft and comfy but will probably have a bit of a tendency to get loose as it gets more use.
Unfortunately, this bra is too small in the cup, a little too wide, and the band is too small. The quality of the straps are lesser than any other Natori I've owned: one of the straps has started fraying near the front. Otherwise this is a fairly comfortable bra.
This bra is actually very comfortable and fits me as most of my Natori bras do (so it's good for a shallow shape). I also like that the straps are on the wider side, which also helps with comfort. However, the cups are thin and the lace also doesn't make for a smooth surface. So I wouldn't wear this under a thin top, and you may have issues with nipples showing from under the cups.
This doesn't fit me like my other Natori bras (which are not labeled as "full fit", so that could be why). The biggest issue I ran into is that the bra cups are too close together so the wires dug into me. Removing the wires made it a lot more comfortable but the cloth still manages to dig into me uncomfortably and the bottom of the cup just kind of rolls up to dig into the underbust area now...The material feels pretty nice, but like my other Natori bras, the cup material is pretty thin may allow nipples to show through.
This *is* discontinued but it was cheap on ebay...so maybe this will be helpful for anyone who finds a cheap one there lol Overall it's comfortable and fits well. I would guess that means it's good for those with shallow shapes. The only warning I would give is that if your worried about nipple bumps and you're wearing something maybe thin or light-colored on the top, this might be a problem. The cup is quite thin foam so it's pretty flimsy and will show bumps.
This bra is very comfortable -- no push up or anything but the cups are foam and have some thickness to them. I wouldn't totally call it a tshirt bra because the outline of the cups can show under your top, but the lace on the cups doesn't show or leave any bumps.
The bra is discontinued but I saw plenty left at Nordstrom Rack. The measurements made it seem perfect for me but unfortunately I don't think the underwire is wide enough given my breasts are separated. I also have a shallow, short roots so I found I couldn't quite fill up the top. The band is fairly stretchy; I'm sure I would be fine with a 30 band given I'm 28.5" underbust.
Loooved this bra until pregnancy changed my shape. Held onto it hoping that I'd eventually fit back in it, but ... nope. It got approx 6 month's worth of use only. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />
I got this bra before I knew how one was supposed to fit. The cups fit pretty well. My bigger side might be a little bit squished in at the nipple (I have very soft tissue), but it is not much. The band is really the only problem. I was measured at a 28DD, so this band is too big. It is wearable though (tightest works best though).
