This Le Mystere is another bra I bought last year at the beginning of this ABTF journey. I guessed at the size and was very wrong. At that point I still didn't understand how bras should fit and I wore it several times until one night it was so uncomfortable that I ripped it off my body in the car while we were driving home.
I love the plunge style and it looks great with low cut tops. It has convertible straps and soft memory foam cups with some padding. There is a thin edge at the top of the cups which in theory makes it ok for wearing with tshirts. In this size the cups are tall and wide. I'm closer to a 34FF in Le Mystere so I can't comment on fit but I am going to try it again in a different size.
This is a bra designed for 'Special Occasions'. Overall, it is very good quality, despite having a few quirks. The band has consistent stretch throughout, except because it has an additional band of elastic across the top, it caused the muffin back look behind my arms. There are 3 loops in the top of the back band to hook the straps onto, which is how it converts from standard to wide, narrow, racerback, halter, a close 'V', or open back (where the straps are reattached right behind the arms...a great option for an open-back dress!) The front straps are soft, but not adjustable, and have plastic tabs ...that attach near the top of the shoulders to the back straps. Unfortunately, even though I don't have narrow shoulders, the front straps are much too far apart or me and cause quite a bit of gaping with movement. The cups are also tall and cut in my 'Tail of Spense' on my short torso. If you are FoT or high-chested you may escape that problem. If you would be wearing this with a dress that has little shoulder loops to hold straps in place, then you would be fine. Otherwise, you might need to pin the straps to the dress to keep them from falling down. The cups are quite wide and heavily padded (1" thick) along the outer edge. This pushes your breasts together to create awesome cleavage, but on me at least, it also flattened out in the middle. The cups are molded and have a smooth mesh overlay, with a band of microfiber along the top edge. The seam between the two fabrics is not noticeable under clothes. The cups sat fairly well in my IMF, but because the cups are so heavily padded, it kept feeling like it was going to drop down onto my ribs. I would recommend this bra if you needed it for a special occasion, but not for everyday use. Read more 221 more words
I really liked this bra when I first wore it, despite some minor wrinkling at the top of the cup for my smaller breast. I was extremely disappointed when the cups curled pretty severely after a single wash. For reference, I hand washed the bra in lukewarm water with a tablespoon of laundry detergent and rinsed with cold water. I air dried the bra lying flat on a table & with the cups supported. I'm not sure if the cups curled because the memory foam shrunk, but it definitely isn't worth $70 if it can't handle a single wash. The bra is somewhat wearable after stitching the top of the cups to lie somewhat flat, however, the lines it creates in thinner shirts is not flattering.
So far, Le Mystere 30 bands have fit me pretty well, and I recently discovered the ultra-flattering Tisha Evolution, so when I saw this random bra on sale at Nordstrom Rack, I decided to give it a try. After all, who doesn't want Infinite Possibilities?
The premise of this bra is that the straps can be adjusted to be worn in a number of different ways, with three strap positions (standard, close, open) and a halter option. However, the description of the bra as "super low plunge cups with a soft uplift provide dramatic cleavage" failed to mention that this is a heavily padded foam cup, which ...I absolutely detest. There's about 1"/2.5 cm of padding at the bottom of the cup, and because there is so much padding, the entire cup is extra tall to accommodate it. This is the first bra I've come across in 30D that comes in at a 6.1"/15.5 cm cup height. Now, since the padding ends up adding at least a full cup size, it doesn't look like an insanely tall cup when worn, but I find it to be very uncomfortable since I like wider, shorter cups with no padding. This bra is simply not my style although it definitely did its job, giving me cleavage and tons of rounded projection.
Outside of this, I found that the bra fit true to size for Le Mystere. Recently I've been between 30D and 30DD, but I've found Le Mystere's 30D cups to a little larger and more projected than other brands' molded cups, so they fit me well. The band also runs true to size and is firm and secure. The wings are made from a super powerful nylon/spandex stretch and come in at 17% spandex, so I think this bra will hold up well. A good quality bra and a good premise, however I simply can't tolerate the feel of the padding long enough to give the convertible options a try. Read more 228 more words
Fits nice except for the gore, but excellent for cleavage. This will be good for tops that need a little "oomph" I just bought two more, one in the black colorway, will update if the measurements are significantly different when they arrive.
At first the part where the straps meet the cups rubbed really bad. It went away after a couple weeks, though. The cups are a bit tall for me and has caused the outer edge of the left cup to start curving out. That is my smaller side so that could be the reason.
