After having 100% success rate with Gorsenia soft cups made with knitwear lower cups and embroidered or lace upper cups, I decided to try the 3 full lace models that they released last season: Caren (black), Madera (fuschia) and Simena (deep violet grey).
At first, MagdaBras4you sent me the 3 bras in my usual size - 65G. However, much to our surprise, they were too small!! Especially this one - Caren. It was the smallest of them all.
I often read here that bras made in black colourways often fit smaller than the same style in other colours. I have found this to be true for my ...3 black Gorsenia bras. My half-knit softcups are indeed smaller but still fit in 65G, but this one was MUCH smaller. Why? I do not understand this, since the fabrics are cut after dying. hmmmm...
Magda sent me this bra again, this time in 65H and it fits perfectly and its measurements are consistent with my 65G halfknits. BIZARRE.
Caren is a very simple black lace bra with black mesh lining. The lace is delicate and fine with a subtle floral pattern. There is some stretch to the lace, however, not as much as is in the lace of an Ewa Michalak full lace BM bra, nor is the lace as thick or as soft/smooth as would be found on a BM. However, it is still a very nice lace, especially considering the price - regularly about $50, on sale for half that. It also lays flatter, and is invisible under a coloured t-shirt (I find the thick pattern of EM lace shows through t-shirts and tops).
The cups of this bra are sewn in classic 3-part balcony style with 1 vertical seam.
Yes, there is a clear plastic stability strip lining the top of the cup.
The gore and wings are also transparent lace like the cups.
The band is made of black powermesh. It has 3 rows of 2 hooks.
There is side-boning on the wing, but it is very soft and flexible, and quite comfortable. I find Gorsenia wings to fit low, so no arm-pit digging.
The only adornment is a small satin bow at the gore and the lace that extends up over the straps.
The straps on this size are wider than those on a 65G. I LOVE this. They are fully adjustable.
I chose brazilian panties to make the set. They are soft and a super nice cut.
After wearing the bra for a full 24-hour day(I slept in it too) on a bust and ribcage that is presently sore and bruised from surgery, I can attest to the high level of comfort of this bra. Not once did I beg to get out of it.
Another softcup win for me from Gorsenia. Read more 354 more words
When I first tried on this bra, my immediate reaction was “Wow, I could put someone’s eye out”! But my guy walked in and said “Wow, that looks GREAT!” So I tried on a blouse to see how it would look in it’s natural habitat (under clothing!). This bra corrals my breasts firmly into place. I like the projected look; it’s slimming, especially in a fitted outfit. A wider underwire allows more spread. I have had this bra for a couple of years, and wear it about once or twice a month. I only hand wash and air dry. The band has stretched only slightly. If ...I gain a few pounds, I use a bra extender with good results. My shape had changed (gravity!), but this is still my favorite bra. I wouldn’t call it super comfortable, but I like the support. It’s not a “vacation in the tropics” bra, but more of an “out on the town” bra. I have a few @gorsenia bras, but this @75F - Gorsenia » Caren (K447) is my favorite. Bratabase really helped me to understand bras and breasts and how to find the right brand and fit for ME. Some may not like the “corralled” feeling that the narrow underwire provides. Any other narrow wire lovers out there? I’d love to know what your favorite bras are. Read more 125 more words
WOW, a bra that fits, lifts, projects and doesn’t gape at the top. This bra has a deep, narrow cup that holds all my breast tissue and gives me a great shape.
I found the pictured Gorsenia bra on Zulily. It was priced at such a discount, I went for it. I put it on, correctly, and looked in the mirror. At first I thought “Holy cow, I could put someone’s eye out!” Then my husband came in and said “Wow! That looks great!” Dang if he wasn’t right. I put a T-shirt on and I loved the way I looked! I always thought my large breasts made me look heavier than I am. This bra puts them in their place and makes me look thinner! I like the projection, and lack of East-West spread. After wearing it for a few weeks, and washing by hand a few times, it still holds it's shape. the band loosened up a bit, which was a good thing.
Another win! I might just go buy a lotto ticket and try my luck there next due to the recent bra win luck I’ve beeb having hahaha. Anyway, the back band is on the snug side as I’ve come to expect from black bras. What is it about black bras that make them run slightly smaller in any brand? Back band is firm with evenly distributed elastic, so no digging in. Cups give a very uplifted round look, but I find this particular bra a bit less projected at the center cup compared to Madera or Simena. In comparison to Madera I also don’t get the slightly odd angle view. Cups are a very airy black lace with a very fine mesh lining. There is a very tiny black bow without any gems or adornments on the center gore. A delicate basic black beauty if will. Wires are narrow. Straps are fully adjustable and consist of a wide soft flexible elastic.
I was so sad when I tried this on and it didn't fit! It's a really pretty black lace bra that reminds me of Ewa Michalak's BM style. (My favorite) I wanted to try the full lace unlined Gorsenias, so I went ahead and ordered this one, a Madera, and a Simena, all in sizes 65i. (Of the three, only the Simena fit me.) Appearance: This is an unlined, full lace, 3 part cup style. The top edge of the cup has that little clear piece of elastic to help hold the top edge down. At the top part of the straps, there's a neat little piece of lace ...to make the straps look wider, if that makes sense. So instead of bows at the straps, there's extra lace, which is a unique touch. The entirety of the bra is a delicate black lace. Fit: I'm FOB, soft tissue, narrow shouldered, and projected. This bra had me quadding on both sides, mostly because the cups aren't deep enough, or projected enough at the gore, I think. The band seems true to size; it's slightly tighter than I like, but I figured if it fit, I could always wear it with an extender until it stretches out a bit. Unfortunately, I think in this style, and the Madera, I need to order up a size since the cups are quite a bit smaller than the other 65i Gorsenias I have tried. (Granted, there's not a lot of those that I can compare to) (Strangely enough, I haven't had any issues with the straps being too wide, which is a common problem for me. This was one of 7 bras I ordered from Magda, and I haven't had to alter the straps of any of them! Huzzah!) Read more 183 more words
