    Fits

Patsy was the first bra that ever fit me. I cried when I found it. I have owned the ink and black colorways since then. However, I recently lost weight. I ignored the gaping at the top of my 30G Patsy for a little too long. After finding some new bras that fit in 28G and 30FF, I decided to replace my beloved Patsy because I really need some lightly padded bras that are suitcase friendly, quick-drying and will work for warm weather. I couldn't afford the full retail price of the continuity colors, but I found a deal on the magenta colorway. I sadly also couldn't find ... an affordable 28-band. The band on this one is a little big. I've had my other Patsys for over a year and wear them on the third hook. This one is almost that loose already, so I wonder if the magenta colorway runs large.

I have discovered a few lingering fit issues that are more than just "I need to go down a cup" as I thought would be the case. I thought the 30FF would get my perfect Patsy back, but it hasn't. I have lost some upper fullness and I think this had led to a shape change as well as reducing my cup size. For instance, the 28G - Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) fits me now when I previously had no luck at all with Decos because of my upper fullness. There is still a bit of room in the cups on this Patsy, again I think the colorway may be affecting this because it gapes only a little less than the Black 30G I already have. I have to tighten the straps nearly all the way. Still, there is a tiny bit of gaping when I relax my shoulders fully.

Because the FF fits my frame better (G cups were always a little wide and armpit invading), I can tighten the straps more than I could with my old Patsy. I have to tighten them nearly all the way to accommodate my very short roots, but thankfully since the wires are shorter than in a 30G, they no longer poke me.

I notice more than before that the gore is a little wide for me. It's not that bothersome, but it does poke a little towards the top. I probably had this with my other Patsys but have worn them so many times that it softened up.

All in all I will keep this bra unless I find a 28G rapidly and will probably have to use a Rixie clip before the year is out. I am now considering trying one of the other Freya half cups with the horizontal panel at the top of the cup. I prefer the very rounded shape of Patsy, the level of padding (I find it to be thicker than the 30G - Freya » Eden Padded Half Cup Bra (1813), for instance, and don't want any thin cups) and hope I can find something similar that is more closed on top and still summer friendly.

    • For what it's worth, Patsy is my daily wear bra and the related Freya half cups don't work as well for me because the top of the cup is more closed and the bands are tighter. I wear a 30G in the Patsy but need a 32G in the other styles. So maybe one of those would work better for you? I have a NWT 30G Secret Garden that is too small for me. I was going to stash it in my drawer in case I shrank a little but you're interested in it, let me know. :)

    • MissV Thanks for the offer! 30FF is definitely my size now in all Freya half cups, though. The last time I tried the horizontal seam Freya half cups, they gave me a slightly pointier shape. I'm meaning to try another soon.

Bra is perfect projection for me. I thought I'd need something with more padding, but, surprisingly, this gives me a really good profile. The only problem is, it's a cup size too big. The band fits perfect, however, I did have to go down a band size because this Freya band runs big. Even though I think this bra is a cup size too big, it fits REALLY nice! I don't feel squished at all (average projection) and it takes away my pointy look. Such a relief!! I will be returning for a 30E.

Excellent fit. I have shallow breasts with a wide root and this fits great. Typically Freya underwires can be a little too narrow on me but in this one it's fine. The lace lies flat and adds a nice detail. The straps are easy to adjust. The band is a little snugger than I'm used to but I went for a 28F instead of my usual 30E because Freya bands are stretchier and I find that a 30E ends up being too big after the first wash and a few years.

My small complaint is that the fabric of the straps is a bit rough, I hope it softens with wear and washing but I wish they would have lined it with something soft like the did to the material of the cups. The wires are also very stiff, I would have preferred some sort of padding there or a more flexible underwire.

This little beastie is a tricky bra. The cups seemed too big when I saw this bra for the first time, biut after a lot of scooping and swoopin I filled the cups. The goe digs a bit into my breast tissue, but that is a very minor issue, What concerns me more is the band; its a 32, but as you can see in one of my pictures, it stretches exactly like my 36DD - Neu Look » Smooth T-shirt Bra ! The band is extremely stretchy, though on the last set of hooks it kind of fits - not perfectly, but it does not ride up my back. I like the pattern and colors, but the fit it kinda off - I think that in Patsy I would have had to buy a 30FF or even a 28G to make everything okay.

This bra is so cute and the gore feel comfortable. The wires on this particular size on me are a bit too wide and it cuts into my armpits a bit. I have very soft breast tissue (nursing/weightloss) so my breasts spill out the middle of the cups a bit even though the cups are a bit too big on me. Not as projected as I need either as the bottom of the cup isn't quite filled.

  7. My shape: slightly shallow teardrop/FOB with super wide/tall roots and very close-set tissue in the middle

This review is for the Peacock colorway.

I love polka dots, and this bra is cute! I wanted the longline bra, too, but I do not really like salmon-pink. Anyway, this bra is really comfy and fits me decently well in this size, although the cups gape some. The foam padding is nice, and the shape is good in spite of the non-molded cups (I appreciate the convenience of cups you can smoosh when you are washing or packing your bras).

I have always had minor issues with balconette styles, such as the tops of ... the cups gapping when I slouch or let my shoulders drop forward, and this bra is no exception. However, it's pretty slight and any shirt I wear keeps it in place and it has never been noticeable.

My only real issues with this bra is how wide the straps are set (I thought I had pretty wide shoulders, but maybe I was wrong, because while the straps do stay on pretty well, I do feel sometimes like they are sitting at the slipping-off-point) and the center gore, which starts to press on my breast tissue after a little while.

  9. This pretty black halfcup balcony bra is only lightly padded an makes a very round and uplifted shape, including some notable cleavage. I specially appreciate the little details like the lace flower application on the center gore bow and the little bows on the straps. The fabric covered straps are considerably broad and not very stretchy but fully adjustable.

As Freya bands are said to run looser than other UK brands I decided to order this bra both in the 28'' and 30'' Band which proved to be the right decision. If you are between bands I probably would go for the smaller band.

Personally I don't like the fabric covering the straps and cup outside very much. It's not as smooth as I would like underclothes to be. The padding on the contrary is very soft. All in all it's a reasonably comfortable and nice looking bra. Nevertheless this will definitely not become my favourite everyday bra.

    Didn't fit

Now that I've tried on every size combo I could have possibly fit into, I know that I'm not shape-compatible with this bra. I'm not full enough on top, and my nipples are way too high on my breasts to work with the cups (the 30DD was the only size where they didn't peek over the top).

The pros: The bra has a really nice lift to it, and the strap length is FANTASTIC. I seem to be one of those people who needs to loosen straps as far as they'll go, but not these ones. Lots of leeway here. Strap spacing is fine too, which is another ... rarity (I often find straps to be too far apart). Also, it's just really darn cute.

My first impression of this bra when I put it on was that it looked great, but upon closer scrutiny came the cons: First, it's surprisingly loose for a 30 band. I have a 29"ish underbust, and I'm going to try this bra one band size down- a first for me. Issue #2: Combined with slight gapping along the top of the cups, the lace edge takes the bra (in this size at least) out of the running as one that would be invisible under shirts. It looked mighty lumpy under the one I tried. Third: Wires are too wide, resulting in some slight wrinkling along the outside of the cups.

In the minor complaint category: Gore is a bit wide for me as well, but all gores seem to be. Since it's not painful, I could live with that if everything else fit great.
