This is my first foray into swimsuits with cup measurements; all of my previous bikini tops were measured in S/M/L (shudder). It's also my first 28 band bra since losing enough weight to measure 28" around my torso.
Another reviewer said that the print is a bit garish, but frankly, that's why I bought this bikini top. I wanted an underwired bikini top that didn't look like a bra. The loud print completely masks the underwire, so it just looks like I'm wearing a "regular" swimsuit top. And along those lines, the print is so much brighter than the official pictures depict.
I would definitely describe ...my breasts as shallow but with a wide base. This bra almost works for my breasts, but not perfectly. The cups are just a bit too narrow for me (but are probably wider than the average bra). They're also just a tiny bit too far apart. I would prefer the gore to just be a cm or so closer.
The seams on the cup are...odd. It cuts into my breasts at the top (quad boob, but that happens very easily with my shallow breasts), more or less fills the bottom, but wrinkles in the middle. Even when I try to "fill out" the cup with my hands, the cup is a weird shape. It's as if they thought the apex of the breast (the nipple) was on the inside curve of the breast. My nipples are a good inch outside of the vertical seam, which I'm sure is what's causing the wrinkling in the middle of the cup.
As another reviewer mentioned, there's definitely no padding/oomph to this swimsuit. They called it minimizing, but I'd more call it honest: as my breasts are pretty darn tiny to begin with, they don't give any illusions about my size.
Overall, it's not the greatest fit for me, but it's a heck of a lot better than all of my previous swimsuits. I'll be proud to wear it to the pool. Read more 234 more words
I'd love to see what you'd look like in a Freya Sweetheart bikini top. At the moment those are the only ones that don't cut into my breast tissue at the top. Unfortunately they're bra-shaped, though.
Well, it doesn't EXACTLY fit because my breasts are about one cup size apart. The top is a tiny bit tight on my larger breast, and a tiny bit loose on the smaller one. If this were a regular bra instead of a bikini, I would probably buy a 28E instead of DD, and pad the smaller boob, but that would slide around while swimming or show through, so I decided the slightly-off fit is OK. It's not noticeable unless you're looking for it anyway.
Very cute fabric and print, and it seems well made.
Me: Average projection. Fuller on bottom. Slightly wider left breast (I suspect this breast is also 1-2 ml taller than my other breast). Maybe tall roots? Usually wear 28DD or 30D.
Excellent bikini top. I'm not popping out when I move. 28DD was a recommended bra from Bratabase. I bought 28DD and 30D because some of the reviews say the band runs small. 28DD fits perfectly on me. 30D fit fine too but the band was slightly looser on me, which isn't really a problem. 28DD was great. Straps don't dig in and my fat/muscle doesn't stick out from the bikini.
I ordered two swim tops from Freya Swim in similar cuts and in two sizes. While they both fit me ok, I don't really love either of them.
The Freya Swim Run Wild Banded Halter Bikini Top shares the same cut as the Freya Swim Palm Haze Underwire Halter Bikini Top. They both have a deep plunge cut with a nice wide underwire and short gore. The one odd feature of this cut is that it is a 2 piece plunge cut, but the top piece is much smaller than the bottom piece. The interior cup is cut as 2 piece, but the exterior cup ...is cut as one piece, so there is a dart on the exterior to approximate this shape. The dart isn't placed in the center of the cup but about halfway from the bottom of the cup to the gore. This is normally not noticeable, but the dart will stick out and look a little pointy along the seam.
I found that both sizes 28D and 28DD fit, though 28DD is my normal size. 28D was a little snug in the cups, but I didn't experience any overflow. 28DD fit better in the cups, but made the oddly-placed dart more visible as the cups weren't as tight on me. It felt like the fullest part of the cup wasn't constructed in the right place, and I had this pointy seam at a weird spot on my body.
This style doesn't have any visible trim, but there is a keyhole detail at the top of the cup where it connects to the strap. The detail was ok, but didn't really look like anything special on me. I am also not a big fan of the splashy graffiti print and would've preferred this in a solid. This style comes with the same plastic swim back clasp also found on Cleo Swim tops, and I found this to be challenging to put on, but I'm getting used to it. Read more 231 more words
Cute, supportive, definitely adds volume & cleavage. The plunge style cuts in a bit, so definitely go up a cup size if you're FOT or have tall roots. The 28 band feels true to size, not super stretchy like some other Freyas. We'll see how it holds up in the water!
Bought as a back-up bikini for summer. And I love it! It fits me really well, which I was extremely surprised about as my shallow boobs haven't had good experiences with Freya.
Being a Freya, the band is slightly too loose on me. It's not an issue yet though, I might adjust it in the future.
Really cute bikini, same cut as the Freya pier. Seems to run a little small in the cups, but actually expands a little once it gets wet, so is really quite true to size.
Gives a little hint of cleavage and the ruffles are very cute especially on a smaller-average sized chest. I can't really say much more about this as it is not the right size for me.
