  1. Run Wild Banded Halter Bikini Top (4614)

I ordered two swim tops from Freya Swim in similar cuts and in two sizes. While they both fit me ok, I don't really love either of them.

The Freya Swim Run Wild Banded Halter Bikini Top shares the same cut as the Freya Swim Palm Haze Underwire Halter Bikini Top. They both have a deep plunge cut with a nice wide underwire and short gore. The one odd feature of this cut is that it is a 2 piece plunge cut, but the top piece is much smaller than the bottom piece. The interior cup is cut as 2 piece, but the exterior cup ... is cut as one piece, so there is a dart on the exterior to approximate this shape. The dart isn't placed in the center of the cup but about halfway from the bottom of the cup to the gore. This is normally not noticeable, but the dart will stick out and look a little pointy along the seam.

I found that both sizes 28D and 28DD fit, though 28DD is my normal size. 28D was a little snug in the cups, but I didn't experience any overflow. 28DD fit better in the cups, but made the oddly-placed dart more visible as the cups weren't as tight on me. It felt like the fullest part of the cup wasn't constructed in the right place, and I had this pointy seam at a weird spot on my body.

The one dealbreaker for me on this style is the ruffle trim along the neckline, which is narrow but quite full. I got this in an animal print, and in this particular print, it made me feel like a frilled lizard displaying its ruff to scare off predators. It wasn't my style, so I decided to return this top. I think it would be better in a solid, although some might like this detail. This style comes with the same plastic swim back clasp also found on Cleo Swim tops, and I found this to be challenging to put on, but I'm getting used to it.

Me: Average projection. Fuller on bottom. Slightly wider left breast (I suspect this breast is also 1-2 ml taller than my other breast). Maybe tall roots? Usually wear 28DD or 30D.

Even though 28DD was my recommended size, I bought 28D on a whim because I randomly found it on eBay for a cheap price. Well, I regret it. This top gave me quad-boob and I'm not a fan of the holes at the top of the cups. When I scoop and swoop, part of my nipple is revealed through the hole. While I could tie the straps higher on my neck, I feel like it's a temporary fix. If the swimsuit was full of water, my nipples may show through the holes. Because of the holes at the top of the cups, I probably won't be getting my actual size for this top. I do think the tope is good material and an overall good swim top. Just not for me.

    Fits

I am a shallow 28D, and I find high or even medium-height gores, uncomfortable, so I was on a quest to find a bikini top with a low gore but that was flattering for shallow breasts. And this bikini is great for that! I tried on a bunch of different plunge bikinis (to get a low gore), and this by far was the most flattering for my shallow breasts. My breasts fit in the cups well, and the cups show them off a bit - the cups don't just cover them with material as some other bikinis did. The cups comfortably fit my larger breast and do no look awkward on my smaller breast - a miracle! I tried on some other bikini tops with wider cups that again, were not as flattering - the separation on this one was great for me. And so far, the low gore is comfortable for me. Really pleased with this bikini.

I got this when I thought that 28D was the logical size to wear if one wore 32B in the past. Not true. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> This was far, far, too small in the cup for me. Even though I found it super cute to the point that I took out the wire hoping to make it fit.

This bikini top is absolutely gorgeous. I've learned from it, however, that in Freya bikini tops I definitely need a 30D. The cups on the Venetian Plunge divide my breasts into quads and they do not contain armpit roll. I weigh 97 lbs and I have a very small frame. I usually wear 28 band bras on the tightest hooks, but the combination of a 28 band with a D cup in a swim top is just too small. I can make the top work; because it's a "plunge" the rolls of tissue look quite Victoria's Secret, but it's not a look I would choose to sport if this top wasn't so lovely.
