The long-awaited S Magique! I knew I needed this from the first time I saw the sneak peak on facebook. I kind of love everything with black lace on beige/pale background. The warm-toned beige color is a bit darker than my skin tone, but it looks quite smooth nevertheless. This bra certainly has a lot of things going on: there's the floral eyelash lace, the corset tie at the gore, shiny ribbons over the wires, and a rather random pair of ribbons + button where the straps meet the cups. The straps and band are plain black next to all of that. I can’t really get the corset ...tie to look as good as in the EM pictures. I find the ribbons a bit shorter than I expected, although I have the corset tied as tight as I can. Maybe I should just tie them without a bow.
I got a bit scared when several reviews told that Magique runs loose in the band and quite inconsistent in the cups. Luckily, this one has a relatively tight band. I can wear it on the loosest hooks, whereas I need the second row for many other newer EMs. My S Magique also seems to fit quite similarly in the cups as my 60FF - Ewa Michalak » S Syrena. It fits nicely without the pads, although my bigger breast is sometimes on the verge of quadding near the center gore. The shape is very projected and just a tad pointy under shirts.
I was also scared about the potentially wider gore, because I have very close-set breasts. It doesn’t seem to be a problem, though. The top of the gore is still narrow enough, and the gore is also short enough (about similar rise as my other S bra, although the gore measurements can be difficult to compare). There is no fabric behind the corset tie holding the gore together (except at the very top). It seems pretty stable though, it only came undone once while (hand) washing.
This is the first partial band bra I have had, and I’m not sure if I like it. I guess that because of the discontinuous band, the wires put a bit more pressure against my ribs. I sometimes find Ewa’s wires just a bit too firm for my liking anyway.
I also got the matching thong in size 34. I really love EM thongs, and this one is no exception. It’s a lovely cut, comfortable and flattering with lovely details.
In the end, this is not the first bra I would like to put on in the morning. The set is gorgeous, although maybe not quite as spectacular as I had expected. But I think I want to keep for now. Read more 347 more words
The Magique is here! The bra I've been coveting for months since it was first teased! And .. . uh . . might not be my favorite. Isnt that always the way it works?
First off, the band is too big. Significantly bigger than the 4 other Ewa Michalak 75s I own. BUT . . . someone asked a few months ago, when we were examining pictures, if the gore is adjustable - because the gore is laces instead of cloth. Someone said no . . . but they were WRONG!!
the first time I put the bra on, I was crestfallen at how ...loose it was on the second-to-last set of hooks. But i took it off and cinched up the gore and tied the excess in a slip knot. All the pictures are taken with the gore cinched up, but the measurements are taken after I took out the knot and redistributed the gore's lacings. It looks like only about a half inch difference in stretched length, but at least after that it fit firmly on the 3rd hook.
Plus I've always wondered how that would change the fit for me . . . well, actually, this bra is looking a tad too big? I have one pad on my smaller side and none on my bigger, but smaller side is still gapping a good deal. I do sometimes wear 2 pads on my smaller side, so thats not too big a deal. But I wonder if cinching the gore opened up the cups more - thats what other ppl said would happen if you sewed a gore like that. It changes the angle, making it more center-full friendly. But maybe too much this time?
Ok, the look of the bra - I totally fell in love with the look of the lace when I saw it on line. Too bad my camera didnt take very good pictures of it. It is lovely . . . but I have to admit, I dont love the shade of the backing. Its a fairly dark, mocha-ish tan. Not really a great color on my bluish pale skin.
Comfort? Not washed yet, not really worn yet. the lining fabric feels less soft than other Ss I have - could be because its not washed yet. But i wonder if its a cotton blend instead of cotton? I do think sometimes the linings shrink slightly when I wash them, but if its a blend, it might not.
So . . yeah, not as glowing a review as I expected lol! Anticipation seems to sometimes sour me! Honestly wondering if I really should send it back for a 70JJ instead. Read more 363 more words
This bra is very nice looking, though I think I might like it better if the cup color wasn't so close to a nude for me (though I lighten quite a few shades in the winter, so we'll see how I feel about it a few months down the road).
However the fit is definitely not where I'd like it. The pictures don't do a very good job of capturing it, but I quad a lot when I leave the pads in it (which is what I normally do with my S cut bras). It fits pretty well when I take the pads out, but usually if I wear my S bras without the pads, they tend to slide down throughout the day since I have very little bottom tissue. The band is also quite big, probably a full band size. I'm probably going to be starting the bra either on the second to last or last set of hooks.
I was so looking forward to this bra, but because of my weight fluctuations I wanted to test a large cup size to see if that would help with the quadboob issues I have had in the past. I measured myself and used Ewa's size calculator, the bra I purchased is the size which was recommended using my current measurements.
Fitting: Unfortunately the band is way too large for me, the back strap has quite a lot of stretch. The cups gape a little at the top even with the additional padding, which you can hopefully see in the pictures. I tested it with and without the pads, and ...even tried lacing the centre gore tighter but this didn't help at all and made it sit somewhat strangely on my body. I have very pendulous breasts, with most of the breast tissue at the end of my breasts so this might also contribute to the gaping at the top.
This bra is very beautiful and despite the fitting issue, I can still wear the bra as the gaping isn't super noticeable with certain fabrics.
I won't be returning the bra as Ewa's store goes on holidays soon for a few weeks and I don't want to be without a bra in the meanwhile. I might try a different style bra in the future but hopefully this review is still helpful... I still think that because the wires on Ewa bras tend to be quite narrow these fit me better than most of the bras available from major companies or from stores like figleaves in the UK. I still haven't been able to get a perfect fit with an Ewa bra, but I love the look and comfort of the ones I have purchased even with the minor issues I have experience - I still really like her bras. This bra is bandless (meaning the back band is sewn to the sides of the cups rather than continuing underneath them in one piece) and the cups are connected by a gore made of corset-like lacing. This makes it fit a little different than other S bras. Because the band doesn't have that strength of the connection under the cups, it stretches significantly larger than my other Ewa bras. Most of my Ewa 70s stretch to 31"-32" and this one stretches to almost 34". If you're particularly concerned about a tight fit, you may want to size down. The cups also run a tad bit smaller than my other S bras.
Honestly, I was more impressed by looking at stock pics rather than my chest.. I am bit dissapointed.. as it doesnt fit me! The band is not too loose not tight as well. I can easily close on 2nd row out of 4 and it holds well The wires are comfy but too wide on me :/ I could bend them over but then the cup depth wont work at all Without pads its too empty and with the pads im quadboobig - it feels like its not compatible with my bust at all, my boobs shakes in it like a jelly! definietly is not as good as Paris that I own in 70E.. such a shame as I hoped for it a lot..
