This bra is a transfer from Wendybien. I knew it would be too big in the band since I normally wear a 28GG.
I will have to take in the band .
Another beautiful bra with gorgeous details. It is a light blush color and works well for me as a nude.
The cups are deep!!! and narrow . They really accommodate my very center full breasts well. Gore tacks pretty well considering I have touching breasts.
This is a full coverage bra, cups are a little taller than I like at 8", however they aren't wrinkling on top.
There is a ... very tiny bit of wrinkling at the apex that I think could go away when I get the band shortened.
It is a little hard to judge because I'm holding the back of the band to try to judge the fit.

The lift is good and gives an understated look in a t shirt. Seams really don't show.
Wires are very comfortable. I think this brand is rapidly going to become my favorite brand. I just wish
    they weren't sooo expensive!!

I think most people would go down one or two cups in this bra because the cups are so deep.

Bra fits like a balconette bra. Cup Height is 7" . This is too small on me and I have some quadding. I have been able to fit into others in this brand in an F cup, so for this brand I think this cup runs small. I'd compare it to a Cleo in cup size.
Cups are rather closed on top and probably wouldn't work on anyone full on top.

Immediate projection is good. Wires are very narrow at 4.875. I have no wrinkling in the outside of the cups under the arms the ... way I do in every other bra I've tried (except for one Anna Pardal plunge with a 5" wires).
So I guess any wire width over 5" is too much for me.
I don't think this bra is all that good for center projection, wires are sitting on breast tissue.
Perhaps in a 30 G, this would be corrected.

Straps are not fully adjustable. I'm short but there is still plenty of adjustment left so I don't think that would become
    a problem .
I get really good lift, comparable to the Cleo lift . The shape is a fairly round shape.

    • The size variation is....maddening.

    • Love4Pollinators maddening is right. See my latest review of the same brand. I think this is the aberration for this brand. I'm pretty sure that in most in this brand I can size down at least a cup.

    • Looking at the depth I think this is more of a 30FF. Cleo depth in 30F is typically 9.5-9.8" but with wider wires, 5.4 or so, which at least in my case makes me need a deeper depth. With wires under 5" - I can get away with 9-9.1" inches of depth. I'm a solid Cleo 30F ;)

    • revisa, so perhaps just slightly larger than cleos. Definitely not the typical Empreinte .
I've been debating whether to try this in the 30G. I'm thinking this
might be a shape mismatch for me. I was drawn to it because the cups aren't as tall as most Empreintes .

It's my least fave Empreinte - and I own 7 different styles. It's less projected than the seamed cups (like the Kaela). It's also dowdier than any of the other styles. It is very well-made, the band (as with all Empreintes) is insanely comfortable and supportive without being in any way tight. It's well engineered for those with heavy breasts who want more width and comfort in the top of the strap. I wouldn't buy it again, but I do wear it. Update: I don't wear it and will sell it. It's much less attractive than the similar Prima Donna Divine (which is deeper, narrower in the cups and less industrial).

This was such an amazing wardrobe staple for the 6 weeks I wore it before losing weight. Great shape, perfect comfort and completely invisible under clothes. The design isn't my fave in terms of cuteness but I needed a nude-for-me bra for summer tees and it undeniably got the job done!

  5. Ophelia Full Cup Bra (07119)

This bra was seriously the LOVE OF MY LIFE before I went and lost weight. It is soooo comfortable, so beautiful, and despite being supposedly a 34 (85 in Empreinte's weird world) never rode up even on the loosest hooks on my 29" underbust. Even after wearing it quite regularly for 3-4 months it still only stretches to about 32.5."

The shape it gave me was also my favorite ever. It sort of minimizes without minimizing... just "neatens" my shape by gathering the boobs to the center juuuust so, but without the flattening, spreading effect that all other slightly minimizing cups always had on me. Definitely sad to give it up.

Oh Gods, that bra is *ridiculously* pretty! Gosh!

    • Are you sure about the band size? As far as I understand a 85 in french sizes / Empreinte would be a 32 in UK sizes: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/empreinte/size-range/sizing/

Maybe that explains why it stretches to about 32.5" :)

    • 1

sunbird the answer with Empreinte is "it's complicated" lol. So, the across-the-board, standard size equivalency for French bands is indeed 85=70=32. HOWEVER, Empreinte use very expensive high-tech fabrics that anchor well but also stretch (if needed) an incredible amount on the body. There's also the issue that their cups run, like, twice as big as anyone else's. So to try and make their sizing legible to foreign consumers, they use their own custom equivalencies such that an Empreinte 85 band is considered (and marked on the label) to be a US/UK 32 and a European 75.

So the answer is that this is BOTH a French 85 and (as marked on the label) a UK 34. And that it fits sort of like a slightly generous 32. Let's say that if you are an average or larger 32, or if you always wear 34s you will be totally fine in this. If you are usually between 34 and 36, Empreinte's "34" (French 85) might be a hair too snug.

    • ARRGGH that was supposed to be "Empreinte 85 is considered and mrked on the label to be a UK/US 34" not 32.

    • 1

wendybien thank you for explaining. Empreinte does have such beautiful designs, but considering the usual price I'm still hesitant ordering one. I've seen you wear Prima Donna bras as well. How would you say their sizing compare?

    • 1

Well the good thing about Empreinte is that, at least with their unpadded/unlined styles, their sizing is VERY consistent. I've tried a good dozen or more of their recent-ish styles and can honestly say that I am always the same size in their designs. Prima Donna is trickier because they are more variable: their lineup includes older designs that they have had around forever, like the Deauville, and that fit waaaaayyy deeper in the cup, and newer designs that fit definitely shallower. I can still wear my PD Tamise in 32G despite a tiny bit of wrinkling for example, whereas the Deauville in the same size is over 1.5" too deep for me.

I would also say that in the size range I'm familiar with (32 and occasional 30) Prima Donna fits really pretty snug in the band compared to Empreinte. They also use high-quality fabrics but obviously favor firmness rather than elasticity. I am solidly a 32 and I can wear an Empreinte 30 (75 French) all day though I'll be somewhat uncomfortable by the end of it. I cannot even last 2 minutes in a PD 30 band, I would need a full extender on that.

With Empreinte, after you've figured out your band size (their unique conversion system ought to take care of this for you) a good rule of thumb is that whatever UK cup size you are, you must size DOWN in Empreinte. So for example if you usually wear a 30F in Fantasie, you can stick to what Empreinte labels a 30 band, but you will definitely need to size down to an E cup--the F will be too big by a mile (again this only pertains to nonpadded... I have never tried their contoured stuff).

What is your current size range or cup depth?

    • 1

Your commment is enlightening as always! I wear 30F in the Panache and Freya models I've tried and mostly 65F im Primadonna and Primadonna Twist, unpadded all of them. If I get you right, it would be best for me to try a 75E/30E in Empreinte. I think I will give it a shot, those designs are just stunning and now that I've discovered what a well fitting bra is worth I'm looking for comfort an quality in the first place :)

    • 1

Yes that sounds about right. If you favor a modern rounded look try the seamless lace cups or the so-calles "full" cups (that really aren't full); if you are super projected and don't mind cups that have a defined apex then the "low neckline" styles are the ones you want!

    • 1

Good to know those differences between their cuts. I think I will start with one of their "full cups", as I'm not sure how projected I am. I do feel much more prepared for placing an online order now, thank you!

This is a beautiful bra from Empreinte. Stunning embroidery!

Perhaps it looks like it fits, but the band is actually not tight enough for my preference(29" underbust measurement, a.t.m., for reference). So, I think I would have to go down to a EU 70 band. I read from the bra blog K-line, (https://line4line.blogspot.com/search?q=Empreinte) that Empreinte doesn't technically make sister sizes, meaning, you can of course sister-size down or sister-size up, but the cups will not be 100% the same size. As in, they use different underwires for cups if you sister size. So, even though the cup looks pretty good in this size, it will not ... be exactly the same cup width.

I got this bra from the French website, it was discounted to an amazing price. https://www.mesdessous.fr/en/36-outlet THAT BEING SAID, I would only buy directly from France if you already know what styles and sizes work for you in Empreinte; Empreinte is a brand that probs should be fit by a professional bra fitter first. I just say that b/c I am almost always able to get my correct size.

Another thing I love about Empreinte - besides the quality and aesthetic - they do have a variety of styles. E.g., if you like the "rounded V.S. style" look, there's Cassiope and a few others. If you still like the more projected look, they have styles like Louise or Garance.

(band to be heavily altered, )

Gloriously fine steel underwires with great spring recovery (nicer even than avocado's), wonderfully low wing, well set straps, good armscye space (no cutting or digging in) fantastically sturdy heavy-weight micro-knit band, wonderfully fob cups that stretch vertically (!!!) with a subtle side support which eases side-heavy to the center, tons of room at the inner at gore, embroidered upper net band is light ... enough to give a little ease yet holds things well in place without quadding or jiggling (that funny geometric design is purely functional!).
Embroidered Straps technically stretch, and have a slightly felt-like backing. These are quite narrow & I fear prone to digging on some, but for a low cut stealth bra, whattaya want.

I've gotten quite used to my overlapped wires at this point and not super thrilled about going back to 'separation' but I suppose this might be a nice feature to others out here.

While this style hasn't as high-end materials as one might like at this price point, the polymide is low-profile in it's texture and seams, has very close feel to silk and the details in the textile and gore leave one feeling chic and more dressed than the average Fantasie or Panache. I can't quite believe that I'm holding something this small and stable that seems to magically manage to have enough space for the doublewide drama llamas.

FFS why nobody tell me I could have it all in 1 bra.

    Cup separation 0.7
    Gore height 4.2
    Wing height 4.25
    Strap width 1.0
    Strap length 16
    Hooks 3

Given how gorgeous and roomy they appeared I'd bought a few Norahs in a recent sale, as it wasn't clear whether this style would run shallower in lower cup letters/taller in higher cup lettering.

Shape, cup width, and depth are similar to Josephine in 30G, but cup height and wire run taller and narrower than the (non-side support) Kate in 32G which is an inch deeper & has a marvelously ... full, projected fit. Now don't get it twisted- what I'm about to say definiitely does not negate the extra large sizing reputation this brand brings to the table. This specific kind of shape runs just slightly shallower than the fullcups and appears to be made to reign in and scoop up the breast vertically. It performs fantastically for my too-full fit needs, and the only mild complaint I can muster is over it's height (hardly a problem when everything is so off in most every brand out here).

Gore is not as narrow as either Josephine or Kate; however it's much closer than the Jazz's gore which runs an inch shorter. So while this is a good option for evenly full shapes, perhaps not perfect for close set who rely on Gorsenia or Comexim levels of scant clearance.

The fine net and embroidery on this bra are surprisingly supportive for something this light; there isn't much mechanical ease/give to speak of but you can get about .5-.75 'breathing room' depending on how much scoopage one feels like neglecting. The gore and wing are also made with a fine net with a medium weight stretch lace overlay: in the wing's case this terminates with an elastic seam filled with a cheap plastic bone. Surely the first half dozen wears this will be less of an issue but depending on how the band breaks in, YMMV with this feature.

Despite being technically large enough, I don't think I will be keeping this size as the band is much too wide/loose for regular wear without taking it in.

    • Just a note, you don't need to paste your individual bra's measurements in your review. The link to your bra will contain you specific entry: https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dnkkd/

I can see that you included a couple others, then that's all welcome, but generally your real entry contains the numbers directly.

"Fits ribcage" and "Bust perimeter" aren't recorded because you indicated that they don't fit, so the site doesn't pick up your current measurements as working for this size since they are recorded as not fitting.

    • Not all styles indicated as 'not fitting' are out of my rotation- but I cannot include all the modifications as that renders the information suspect to bbase and it will remove it (even when the info added is just for the original size untouched). I also add this information in the review because I've run into countless bras on this site that the site drops some or all of the information from, as well as round off measurements from. When the bra is no longer owned I often see no measurements, but there were once measurements uploaded, not sure what that is about. I'd like to figure out how to also measure the cups' upper bands, armscyes, strap length and the frame size (non stretch part of the band around the cups that includes wing & gore) as those can be big pain points for certain combinations of shape features. I would literally pay to know the cup height & angle grade in the cup pattern for each style in particular, as that's been a huge factor in whether there is any room in the cup for my shape.

    Fits

This review is for the @Empreinte Cassiopee Underwired Seamless Bra in the Opaline colorway in 32E UK. My ABTF size is currently 30FF but at the time I bought this it was 32FF.

    Band:
    * Seemed a little more stretchy than I expected. Since buying it my band size has reduced a bit so it's hard to say if it's truly loose or I just need a new size. Has 3 hooks by 3 columns.

    Wires:
    * Narrow, thank goodness for me!

    Cups:
    * Seamless. Gives a natural rounded shape (not cakes on a plate).

    Straps:
    * The straps are fully adjustable and sit nicely.

    Fabric:
    * This has a gorgeous embroidery pattern with iridescent thread. I bought ... it at the holidays and it does sparkle!

    Hardware:
    * The hardware is matching and it has tiny matching bows where the straps meet the cups.

About me: very close set (breasts touch), very narrow roots, very projected at the wire, full on bottom, short roots, soft tissue, significant rib flares, narrow shoulders.

    FIT

    * The band is more forgiving than I'm used to and that might be what's making this so comfortable with my rib flares.
    * The wires are wonderfully narrow at this size.
    * The gore tacks well for me.
    * The cups are great for my short roots, full on bottom.
    * The straps are plenty long enough and fully adjustable. This might be considered a center pull because it does not cut into my TOS.
    * The sides are a comfortable height for me.

    OVERALL IMPRESSION
    * I love it so much that I bought 2 more in other styles! It's the first bra that doesn't hurt my rib flares. This is a pricey bra so if you can get it on sale that's ideal. But since I've tried on many dozens (maybe hundreds) of bras and this is the first that I can wear comfortably all day, it's worth it for me.

I’ve waited so long to try this bra, and I’m so disappointed that it doesn’t fit. First, it’s absolutely gorgeous. Second, it’s got extremely narrow and vertical wires, which is what I really need. But: it’s huge. Both the projection and height are just… a lot. For reference, I normally wear a UK 30E/F, and I’d have to go down 2 cups sizes for this to fit.

This is a very pretty bra with nice, narrow cups. It is extremely projected for its size (cup depth fit me pretty well, but it’s definitely not the size of most D cups). Unfortunately (for me), it is made for very short roots, so it cuts into my upper tissue. If that’s what you need, though, it’s probably a gem of a find.

I had to try an Empriente bra and see what all the fuss was about. Between the crazy price tag and largely glowing reviews, I was SO curious to see if the brand would actually be worth the money for me. I chose this model because I thought it had lining in the bottom half of the cup to cut down on nipple poke (it doesn't). That said, it is a VERY nice bra, and it ALMOST fits.

Quality wise, it's gorgeous. Beautiful embroidery, solid seams, soft fabric. Really pretty light pink color. The details are stellar. I love the ornate design on the gore, there's ... even a little crystal in the middle.

Fit wise, it was pretty close. I went down a cup size as suggested by Bare Necessitites. Gore tacked, band seemed fine. Straps were comfortable once adjusted. No pokes with the underwire or issues with filling out the cups on the larger side, and only slight wrinkling on the smaller side. The only thing off about the fit was that the underwire didn't stay in my IMF when I raised my arms.

I don't like the way it looks, though. I wasn't expecting it to be as low-cut as it is based on the pictures I saw on the product page, and it doesn't give me the shape I was hoping for. For $150 (and that was 25% off!!), I would have to LOVE it to keep it. Definitely a quality brand, but I’m not sure it’s worth 3x the cost of my favorite Wacoal. I’m also not sure that sheer bras are my thing.

I love Empreinte but it is one of the few brands to be designed from the get-go for a very large and heavy bust. Pattern grading only takes you so far so if you don't match that demographic the fit usually is only so-so, meaning it becomes a truly pointless expense for someone who has the build (average/athletic back, moderate cup volume) to very easily fit and wear all the OTHER luxury French brands that are designed with more average proportions in mind! If you want to splurge on super fancy French lingerie, you have endless choices... try Aubade, Lise Charmel, etc. At a slightly lower but still premium price point Lejaby and Simone Perele have tons of beautiful and well-made designs.

In my opinion, the cups are way too small for your 27.9 cm b. perimeter. In the picture they can't contain all your breast tissue and cut in. The band seems also a little too big for you and rides up on your back. If you really like the design of this bra and want to keep one, I think the 32E will be a better choice.

By the way, don't trust the "fitting suggestions" of any online shops easily. On one side it's commercial related, on the other side every brand is different in sizing and everyone's body shape is individual. For good bra fitting references I'll recommend ABTF (A bra that fits) and busty resources. Some personal blogs with fitting experiences can be useful too.

smjwzhan correct, Empreinte in this size range runs very "short" vertically and is narrow too. So while the cup may have enough projection for faeriequeene it is too small in other dimensions. However, sizing up in this brand won't do any good if the problem is a shape issue, especially in view of their rather unique disregard for sister sizing. Going down a band and up 2 cups in their seamed bras usually results in a HUGELY deeper cup. Even down a band and up 1 cup can be risky. I made that mistake once or twice with bras I really was dying to have... the cups were so massively oversized, I could have used them to store my iphone, wallet and (car + house) keys and still had room.
Their molded lace designs such as the Melody line are the only ones that I would describe as consistent in terms of sister sizing... probably because those bras were designed in the late 1990s or later, with completely new patterns and grading systems due to the different construction.

I cannot believe how comfortable this bra is. This is the “low-neck” or “corbeille” version of the Ashley. I am 32FF in s British bras but the French 75G fits perfectly. I am close set and center full and usually prefer plunges, but this feels great although the gore is 3.75” high. I think that, since the wires somehow work for me, I actually enjoy having cups that are more full coverage than my usual plunges. And it is gorgeous too (except for the rather industrial looking straps). Both Sweet Nothings NYC and Comic Girls Need Bras have reviewed this model in detail.

    Didn't fit

Firstly, the lazuli blue colorway is gorgeous in person. I bought this off an Ebay seller who has several discontinued Empreinte models.

The Grace underwired half cup bra isn't as open I would think for a half cup model. The demi-cup bra is cut lower, but doesn't offer up cleavage as the description or title would imply. It has a 3-section construction gives support, uplift and a rounded shape up until the diagonal seam cuts into my upper-fullness. The cut off gives me a upturned cone-boob effect.

The top seam of the cup is closed and has no stretch, causing quad boobing on the top even. I'm certain ... sizing up would not solve the issue since Empreinte cups run very deep and there are large differences between sizes. The bra technically fits, but this is a shape mismatch on me.

I've tried a couple newer versions of Empreinte demi-cups and they seem to have improved on that. In any case, both newer and old demi-cups with seams remain unflattering on FOT boobs. I suspect they may work well for some FOB busts. Empreinte has since replaced this model with Grace Seamless Lace Bra, which appears to be sold out in most shops.

    • Wow, that is super deep for a 30F. Closed on top is exactly what I need. I can see how it would be a shape mismatch for you. Beautiful bra though!

Cassiopee is a beautiful full cup, seamless, sheer bra with embroidered mesh cups and lace. It is described as an "innovative method of moulding rigid embroidery for great support". I guess it is supportive in a bouncy natural looking way. I appreciate no seams because I usually wear t-shirts and it is mostly invisible under tops. The gore is wide and the cups seem to be extra deep for it's size. The band is very stretchy.

I bought the Macchiato 34G about 18 months ago and have only worn it a handful of times. I allowed a salesperson to convince me that it was a ... great fit but it is too large overall. I'm not a fan of full cup bras and this one just feels like too much bra on me. I altered the gore to make it more narrow which helped it fit a little better. I feel a bit guilty every time I see it in the bra drawer because it was so $$$$. So today I took it out for another try. It is comfortable enough but I hate the shape or gives me.

edit: So this Cassiopee is actual a 32G. I've only worn it 3 -4 times and maybe the band stretched but I have to close it on the last row of hooks. I was frustrated with the wide gore and did some bra surgery to try to narrow it. I felt a little guilty messing with such an expensive bra but I wasn't wearing it anyway. It is somewhat narrower and looks better. It also is not visible under white t-shirts. I'm super sensitive to fabrics and it feels a bit itchy. Idk if I will actually wear it now.

    Hasn't set fit

I have a few Empreinte Irina Seamless Padded Very Plunge Bras now. This model has smooth, seamless, somewhat rigid cups, like the Freya Deco's. Irina Very Plunge's gore, however, is much lower than Freya Deco's. In fact, the gore is shorter and narrower than those in most so-called plunges, including all my Ewa Michalak PLs and 3Ds and my Prima Donna Perle Plunge.

Empreinte bras never have sharp edges anywhere. Much as I love my Ewa Michalak bras for their front and center shaping, I do get tired of the little cuts I get on my back from the pieces that contain hooks and eyes. Empreinte bras cost ... a lot, but the quality shows. Not only do these bras not hurt me, their bands, even when they aren't firm, somehow lever my breasts into position, providing excellent lift and shaping.

This Rouge Baiser color is my latest Irina Very Plunge. The Rouge Baiser Irina's band and cups seem smaller than in my previous Irina bras, which I have in these colors: Lilas, Nuit, and Brume Rosee. I bought all these bras new, so it's not that my previous Irinas were stretched out or distorted from use.

I sister sized to 32D in Irina after discovering the 30E cups go so high, my shoulders push the tops of the cups away from my body. I love the lower coverage of the 32D compared to the 30E. I should note, however, that Empreinte doesn't really sister size as we understand sister sizing from brands like Freya and Panache. In the words of the incomparable Kristin of K-Line:

Empreinte adjusts wire width for every bra size
(even sister sizes) so the wires on an
Empreinte 34F (for example) will be differently
proportioned than those on a 32G (which has
the same cup volume). This is because the brand
recognizes that when your back width
is smaller, your cup width probably is too.
And your breast height is probably shorter.

Now, what Kristin said in her post contradicts my experience with Irina's 32D vs 30E. My one 30E Irina Very Plunge, in the color Byzance, has much higher cups than the 32D in Lilas, Nuit, Brume Rosee, and Rouge Baiser. I don't know how to account for the contradiction, because Kristin is extremely savvy about bra fit. Like wendybien, Kristin has phenomenal bra troubleshooting skills. It's been a long time since I tried on my 30E Irina in Byzance. I'll have to try all my Irinas on and report back.

I've included pictures of the Empreinte Irina Full Briefs I also bought in Rouge Baiser. There are several styles of Empreinte panties: full brief, panty (lower rise brief), shorty, and thong. At least one retailer lists a Rio Brief, but I think that's what most other retailers call panty, which looks like a low rise bikini to me. I love Empreinte's full brief. It's not a retro, high waisted panty, but a medium-high bikini that reminds me of Fantasie's briefs. Most retro, high waisted panties go higher than my belly button, because I have less real estate to cover than retro panties expect. Medium high, full briefs almost reach my belly button. They make me feel secure. I wear skirts most days, and the sensation of panties slowly slipping down my body is suspense I do not need.

Fantasie started making their briefs lower rise in the last few years. I prefer their older, fuller coverage panties, as I prefer Empreinte's full briefs. Both are harder to find these days. I expect to wake up one day and find one or both styles discontinued, at which point I will froth at the mouth and complain to all you Bratabasers. Something for you to look forward to. https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

I love the Rouge Baiser color. It's a lipstick red, a true red most accurately rendered in the photo of the front of the bra.

This is my 1st Empreinte bra. I know they have a reputation of making high quality but expensive bras. I bought this bra off of an Ebay seller, brand new with tags for only $55, with free shipping! A smoking deal for a $190 to $200 bra! If it weren't for this major discount I would have never bought it. I have wanted to check out Empreinte for some time so I couldn't pass up such a good deal!
About the bra. It is a 40E with 2-part , full coverage, underwire cups. It has a leotard back with 2 hooks to fasten the band. It is very supportive and totally comfortable too! I am very pleased at how well it fits me.

I really loved this bra when I tried it on (I must have to pay $200 for it), but when I wore it for the first time, I was in agony. The straps were constantly falling down and folding over on themselves (I have narrow sloping shoulders, which doesn't help). The band is very stretchy, I was on the tightest hook within a few weeks. I ended up taking in the band 2" in order to get more than 6 months life out of it. It is absolutely beautiful and gives a nice shape, but that's about it.
