I've only had this bra for two days, and it's already my new favorite. I think it just might be the most supportive and comfortable bra I have ever owned. As soon as I put it on and adjusted the straps, it eliminated the strain of my breasts on my upper back and I actually sighed in relief. I didn't think it could get any better, but then I fastened the J-hook and I swear I heard angels sing. My breasts felt completely weightless. Seriously, that tiny little J-hook makes a world of difference. I wish all bras came with one of these hooks!
The band is firm, which ...probably accounts for much of the support this bra provides. The cups are definitely full coverage (my breast tissue is completely enclosed by the cups!), so I have to be careful about which tops I wear with this bra so the cups don't peek out. Also, the seams on the scalloping along the top of the cups do tend to show on the shirts I wear--but I wouldn't say it's as noticeable as the detailing on the Elomi Caitlyn. Like the other Elomi bras I own, this one does separate my breasts more than I would prefer. But these things are only minor inconveniences, and the fact that the bra is so comfortable and supportive completely makes up for it in my opinion.
In short, I'm crazy about this bra. I think every woman with large and heavy breasts should own at least one. I'm already planning to buy it in other colors https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" /> Read more 159 more words
Sadly, this is the best fitting bra out of the 20 or so I've tried recently. The underwires are bizarrely wide; the wire doesn't poke me under the arms because it ends -behind- my arms, but the bust point is in the right spot, so it seems to have been deliberately designed that way.
It does push my boobs a bit too far to the side but not as much as other styles and brands. I have closer-set boobs, so I normally have the problem that bras are too wide set and straps are too far apart. This bra has those problems but less than most. The center ...gore does not tack in this size (nor in the 38K which is clearly too big in every other way). I have been told this might be because my boobs are set too close (they are about 1 finger width apart), but I have had bras that tack when I was only slightly smaller (38J).
In the pics you might be able to see that my left breast pushes over the cup very slightly. This happens in -every- bra I've tried at my current size, and it also happens in this style in a cup size larger (38K).
The band's elastic and underwires dig painfully into my ribs after extended wear. I do like the hook in the back that allows it to convert to a racerback: SO rare in my size. Read more 130 more words
My 4th Rita. I keep buying them as I get bigger, but sadly the scaling makes this one difficult to wear as the wires are so huge. Today's Elomis have much smaller wires. I want to modify this one to work better for me but I will have to experiment. If I could get this bra in fuschia again I would be so happy.
Alterations on this bra were actually quite simple. First, I lowered the gore by cutting it down to the sheer material on the gore. This is actually a perfect gore height for me. I was considering sewing the elastic ...back to the gore and creating a fold in the sheer fabric but I worried it would make the bra too closed and cause quadding. Instead I cut the sheet fabric and elastic off at the scalloped satin edge of the cup. Then I put in new wires (Panache 30HH from some bra, I'm not sure which now) and folded the gore over and sewed to create an overlapping, narrowed gore. The straps were really long, and I had a weird triangular piece at the strap that was once attached to the sheer material so I cut the sidebar down to close to where it attaches to the cup and re-attached the straps there.
I really love the result. The cups are still too wide, but the band fits better, the gore tacks, the cups are slightly too closed at the center but fine everywhere else. The cups are the right height for me. The shape is nice and round and look great under clothes, even knits. Now I just want to find a good gorenament that will cover the surgery lines there. I tried on both of my Elomi bras as soon as I got them, and I am in love. This one, however, is my personal favorite.
It has the most amazing fit I have ever gotten from a bra. I said that for the other one, but that's because I was stuffing myself into Ds when I should've been wearing Hs the whole time!
The gore tacks, I fill everything out perfectly, the separation is perfection (no more rashes/chafing!) and oh, is it cute. I love the scalloped edge. The straps fit great, as does the band. I couldn't ask for a better fit.
This particular bra is less pointy than other Elomis I have. I'm wearing it with an extender because it is a sister size down from my usual Elomi size. I think my larger breast is slightly too big for the bra, but it's not as bad as other brands, because I think Elomi generally runs a half cup bigger than other brands. I might also turn this into a half cup plunge by cutting off the netting on the top and the wires in the gore. I did it with another Rita but it's too small now. It worked much better as a ...half cup for me than a full coverage bra however. This bra also has closer set straps so it's very comfy for narrow shoulders. It has a J hook to convert to racerback as well.
This bra has the typical soft Elomi wires that stretch back and mold to the body so if you need wider wires and prefer molding wires this is a good choice for you. Keep in mind that the projection forward may change as the molding happens however, especially if you have a lot of forward projection rather than side projection.
Over two years ago, I wrote, "Fit is lovely. I do prefer a bandless bra at this size/weight, but this is still quite comfortable. I like the multiway band, too. I can wear it all day without issue. As with most bras that have 3 part cups, the lines do show through on some fabrics. I would definitely buy this again. The shape is a nice middle-ground between round and pointy. It would be a great bra for someone who just found their true size and is used to the more round and a bit squashed look ... rel="nofollow">https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":-)" />. I still wear this - since I have 10-12 bras that fit, they tend to last quite awhile when I rotate them. But, I would not buy this again now. Time has changed my shape; my root is narrower and the wires on this are simply too wide. I thought this was on the Caitlyn frame, but the Caitlyn I have is narrower. It is still wider than I would like, but the Rita is truly wide. It still is very comfortable, however, I love the J hook (one of the only Elomis with long enough straps for me to use it) and the shape is decent, if not my favorite. Read more 116 more words
I have full on top and pendulous breasts with a wide and short root. My breasts are high set and splayed.
I was excited to see that I was receiving this bra in my grab bag from Break Out Bras, because the Goddess Keira and Elomi Caitlyn were extremely comfortable for me and were staples in my collection. I ordered this in a 38JJ because my usual size of 36K was sold out. I'm wearing this bra on the tightest hooks and will be altering the band down to a 36 band. If you fit into Elomi and find that a lot of bra straps are too loose ...for you, you'll be ecstatic to have a bra with a J hook like this one. It's a little hook that converts the bra into a racerback, which in my opinion improves the support of a bra, especially when you can rarely find bras with straps that adjust short enough. The J hook is easier than one of those clips or bra strap holders because you can effortlessly clip and unclip it yourself and you don't have to worry about coming home from work alone and being stuck in your bra (this happens to me more than it should).
Other than the J hook option, this bra fits extremely similarly to my 38M - Goddess » Keira Banded Underwire (6090) , except it actually fits me. I wore it all day and all night when I first tried it on, and I did not have one single solitary complaint about the bra. I was actually sad when I had to take it off because it was so comfortable. I usually nitpick my bras at least a little bit ever since I found out I could alter them, but I can't think of one thing I'd change about this bra.
It fits me perfectly, is comfortable, is supportive, and gives me a very natural rounded shape that balances out my figure. The materials on the cup are very soft (even softer than the Caitlyn and the Keira). It's not the absolute prettiest bra ever, and I know the appearance will be a dealbreaker for lots of women, but I've never had a problem with the Goddess/Elomi aesthetic. A bra this comfortable and supportive could look like anything and I wouldn't care. Read more 281 more words
Bought this one on Ebay lightly used in a 34h. It didn't need to be broken in and the J hook in the back is comfortable when fastened to keep straps from showing. I have only worn it once so far and was pleased with the fit and overall comfort. I had first tried to buy a new one in my recently measured size of 34gg but when it arrived it was too tight and was actually painful on my sternum and ribs and so, I sent it back. Just sizing up the cup, with my Ebay purchase fixed those issues.
This bra is comfortable, but I think only because of the racerback clip. The cups are way too wide (ending behind my arms).
After wearing this a few times, I've come to the conclusion that it just doesn't work for me. Without the racerback clip, the cups and straps are too big. With the racerback clip it pulls on my neck and shoulders.
