So close. So close, I feel like if I just keep fiddling with the straps, tweaking the wire, readjusting my breasts, there must be a way to make it work. But it's just not quite right, and unless a miracle happpens in the wash sometime I don't think it ever will be.
The band is too tight. The wires don't go high enough under the arm, and poke into my sides. I'm not sure what's going on in the cups.
If the straps are loosened enough to for the top edge to lie flat along the top of the breast, the cups wrinkle at bottom. If I ...pull the straps tight enough to support the breast from below, the cups wrinkle towards the strap and quadboob appears at the top edge. I can find a compromise between these points, but the band is still too tight.
I think my breasts are just too soft for this style. It's a cute design, but it doesn't provide the support I need and I'm not sure the actual "criss-cross" part can look right on breasts that aren't very full on top. Read more 80 more words
A plain bra, that fit me okay-ish: cups filled to the brim with the criss cross doubling over on itself (not sure why), and a tight enough band, though very stretchy. But, this is without a doubt the most painful bra I ever tried: the wires feel like they're stabbing me full force. I can't wear it because of this.
This bra almost made me cry! In the end, though, I just sighed and went to tick the "high nipples" box here in the Bratabase measurements section. Because, as beautiful as this piece of lingerie is, my nips happen to sit smack in the middle of the sheer bit - SO not sexy And the way it interferes with the shape from the side, is just... ugh! *shudder*
It was all the more frustrating as this was otherwise the best-fitting bra I have ever tried on (hah! finally found my size, it seems). No quadboob at all, even after walking around, comfortable band and ...straps, and the fabric is soft and silky to the touch, even though it has a somewhat plastic feel to it (it also reflects the light in a really weird way).
The support and shape are not that great, even though it fit in the cup. I got a somewhat square-ish shape from the side with the three Curvy Kate bras I have tried on and this one was no exception; what more, the breast drooped towards the ground. In the end, it was this very unflattering look that finally persuaded me to send the bra back.
All in all, this model apparently doesn't work for me. I think I'm going to give the Criss Cross a wide berth from now on. Read more 120 more words
I thought I should get this bra simply because I thought it would benefit me. But, unfortunately, because of the natural shape of my breasts, they are too far out, and the band doesn't support them nearly enough for them to look 'good'. It made them look odd and pointy. I mean, I guess some women could like that type, but I personally don't. I feel like it takes away from the attractiveness of my breasts. But other than the cup, I think it fit really well. The only other problem was the straps were digging into my arms and it was too uncomfortable. I think I'll stick to the molded cups from now on.
Bought this bra because of a dress in the same color and upon checking this faboulous site. But I keep reaching for it since it is comfortable and gives a very nice shape. Simple but not annoying, it stays in place even when moving a lot! The fabric is soft and thin but supporting (double layer on bottom) And I like SO MUCH the criss cross motive....I give excellent for the look because the overall look when I wear it is very nice.
I like the wires on this bra, because they are relatively low and do not poke into the armpits as much as Panache bras do. Unfortunately the wires are also less stable and tend to get bent out of shape under stress from the band. I also found the band to be to stretchy for me. This seems to be a general problem with Curvy Kate.
Another problem i have with Curvy Kate is that the cupshape of their bras does not agree with my breastshape. I tried a large variety of CKs in all kinds of sizes and my breasts always either had a funny droopy shape or the lace of the cup was fluttering around.
Overall, this is a good bra. The material is maybe not quite as nice as on Freya or Fantasie bras, but it also didn't cost as much. Underwires run narrow (great for me). Be aware that the band is *very* stretchy--I have this fastened on the 2nd set of hooks, and could maybe have gotten away with a 28.
