Didn't fit

When I tried this bra in the fitting room two months ago, I thought it was the answer to my problems. It's sadly been a letdown.

After a lot of experimentation a few years back, I gave up and decided to live in a couple of Freya Marvels (which have held up amazingly well), but as I gained a little weight over the last six months and I know the Marvels won't last forever, I took the opportunity while in London to stop at Bravissimo for a fitting. In the dressing room, this hit most of my requirements - open top, relatively closely set cups (not enough, but better than most Panache), a firm band, a deeper cup than Marvel, and a low gore that doesn't pinch.

Unfortunately, this band has stretch super powers. I don't think I've worn the bra even ten times since purchase, and I'm already using the tightest hooks (the Marvel, by the way, is still great on the loosest ones). Because the band has become so stretchy and the wires are not particularly sturdy, it just doesn't want to hold the cups in place, and they therefore slide down just enough to cause bubbling over the top of the cup - in one of the photos, you can see this starting to happen. I can't help thinking that some of this would be resolved by three hooks rather than two on the GG+ bands, but Freya seems opposed to that. I don't think a 30H will have enough room in the top, and this bra stops at an H.

I don't recommend this bra in the larger sizes, which is a shame as it's a real struggle to find a GG+ bra with low gores. It's just not structured well enough for a proportionally larger bust. If you want to try it and you're between bands, however, I suggest sizing down rather than up (my snug band is 30.5-31").

I'm off to see if I can find another couple of Marvels.
