Root width, root height, projection

Ok, new way of measuring things:

Take a yardstick or a caliper. Measure straight across the boobs either in your best fitting bra or another method you prefer. You just need to measure your boobs in one piece.

1. Measure your boobs horizontally straight across from end to end.
2. Measure boobs vertically from top to bottom.
3. Measure straight out from sternum how much your boobs projects, how far they are out from your sternum.
4. Measure the projection that gives you best support.

1. Root width: 21cm
2. Root height: 21cm
3. Projection 7 cm
4. Projection comfort: 5-6 cm

When you see my numbers it should be easy to understand that there's no bras out there that would fit me. For me to wear a projected bra is a joke. It goes completely against the shape of my boobs. For it to work at all it would need to taper down in the middle enormously.

Finally I've given up on projected bras and went back to my beloved Andorra Full Cup 34J. I wear it with an extender so the gore won't kill me and so I can breath. I feel so at home!

This is yet another way of measuring root height and depth. It's essentially measuring boobs as if they would be a box.

I guess if one would then compare the numbers one can get all sorts of formulas out of this. Please remix :)

And now; what do you measure?

Update: You cannot use a soft tape measure for this method and you need to use your eyes so the easiest way is standing in front of a mirror or have someone else measure for you.

Update 2: Only measure one boob and take into account that the bigger the boobs the more of an estimation the measurements will be. The only way to have exact measurements is using a caliper. The easiest way to see the root of the breast probably is to push it against the ribcage to see the creases and so flatten the boobs somewhat with the yardstick to better have the creases show.

  • I absolutely love this mathematical way of doing things.

    Root width: 14cm
    Root height 12.5cm
    Projection 6.5cm
    Projection comfort (deco) 8cm

  • Root width: 18 cm
    Root height: 22 cm
    Projection: 7 cm
Projection comfort: xx cm. I have no idea since I have no bra that fits me comfortably.

I have very tall boobs compared to you amy__rebecca! :P Wow... Interesting to see such a difference!
