I have a few questions, which hopefully some of you might be able to answer. I am somewhat new to proper bra fitting, and while I have a good grasp on what size I am (28e-f), I am having difficulty determining breast shape and figuring out what bras would fit best on me. Obviously, without posting pictures of my breasts it will be hard for you to really judge, but any advice or insight would be helpful. I have tried looking at pictures/graphs/demos for advice, and I am still lost. Honestly, I am leaning towards the idea that I am pretty even (bottom and top). I do know that my breasts are wide set.

A few months ago I purchased a ton of bras, which 99% of them were returned. This allowed me to figure out my size, and find a couple bras that fit. The two bras that fit me really well are the Cleo Marcie (28F) and Cleo Lucy (28F). I also fit well in Parfait By Affinas Charlotte Padded Bra (28E). In desperation for a t-shirt bra I settled for the Freya Deco Moulded ½ Cup Bra (28F). The Deco fits terrible, but compared to probably the other 5 t-shirt bras I tried, fits the best. I have a HUGE amount of gapping in the center at the gore, and fill in the rest fine. Also, on the tightest hook it’s still too loose. It’s not noticeable under shirts, and that’s why I kept it.

Curvy Kate bras give me the upside down 7 look, and Freya unpadded bras tend to wrinkle really bad at the top, but almost seem like they are cutting into the top of my breasts at the same time.

I’d also like to say that although it seems like I mostly wear a 28F, with the 20 something bras I’ve tried, 28E’s tend to fit the best. This is weird because my best fitting bras are F’s.

I am getting really desperate to find a well fitting t-shirt bra, and to really understand what might fit me. With summer around the corner, I’m finding it hard to wear T-shirts because all my bras show through. Also, what about multi-way bras? I can’t really wear tank tops at this point.

I know this is really long, and I appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks in advance.

  • Have you considered the Cleo Maddie Moulded Balconette T-shirt Bra (7201) or Cleo Juna (6461) ? It seems like you have shallow evenly full on top and bottom breasts that may be splayed, wide set, and/or lack center projection. I would avoid the Curvy Kate Ritzy Padded Balcony Bra (SG2101) as that tends to be very open on top. Maybe Natori Feathers Contour Plunge (730023) in 30DDD? I hear that bra runs tight in the band.

I feel your problem. I still have difficulties finding bras that fit me smoothly. I wish there were more half padded (semi soft in Polish bra speak) bras out there because with padded bras I inevitably get gaping depending on my posture. Those would make perfect seamless bras if I were willing to shell out the extra money for shipping from Poland.

  • Posting pictures with the bras on would help us help you :)
