So, been wearing the wrong size bra my whole life. Trying to squish the girls into a 36-38DD bra with not much luck (and a lot of issues). I got properly fitted recently at @Livi Rae's (they have a website also if you aren't in the Marietta GA area), and they tell me I'm a 32-34G. However, according to the bra size calculator, I'm a 32H/34GG/30HH.

My best fitting bra at the moment is my @Wacoal, but the gore definitely isn't flat against me. Sure, it's a comfy bra and I can wear it all day long, but now I'm wondering ... what size am I really? Bras are SOOOO expensive - I can't afford to buy bras that don't fit!

  • US and UK sizing are slightly different. A US 32G is a UK 32H, the boutique you went to probably sizes in US and that calculator sizes in UK, so it sounds like you are sized pretty consistently.

Keep in mind also that different brands are cut differently and you may be different sizes in different bras. The calculator estimate is just an estimate. If you need cheaper bras, I suggest combining eBay or Amazon (which does free returns on some bras) with the reviews here to get an idea of what to purchase, and you can also purchase here. If it doesn't fit, you can also sell the bra on here and recoup your money.

  • Actually, they use UK sizing at the boutique. But even though the band size is fine, the gore in front isn't flush like it needs to be. So I'm thinking maybe I need to go up a cup size ... I guess I can always go back to that boutique and just try on more bras. It's the only place near me that I can do that. And I'll take a little notebook with me to write down what fits and what doesn't.

I'm already looking at picking up bras from here, Amazon, and eBay, trust me. $70 for a bra is just ... way out of my meager income range.
