Non-perfect bra love?

Do any of you have non-perfect bras (as per "the book") that just feel great? I'm wearing a Kappahl bra I bought just days ago (85D/38D) and despite the underwires being a bit wider than my root, I'm not bothered by it. I can't really say why I'm not because with other brands and bras I'm usually REALLY bothered with it! It hurts because my breasts shift around inside the cups and it's uncomfortable for my ribs and armpits but the exception so far seems to be Kappahl. I haven't measured it yet but the underwires are 1-2 cm wider than I usually go for.

Now, the bra is a mess fit-wise at the moment but I have another 85D bra from Kappahl that I've altered shorter and it's super-comfy and gives me a nice, stable round shape. I feel locked in by these bras but at the same time they don't feel restrictive and the bands are both comfortable and soft :) (really important to me that fabrics and the stitching feels soft because I'm sensitive)

  • Yes!!! That's my new method of bra-fitting -- whatever FEELS and/or LOOKS great (depending on the function of the bra.) So what if all of the "fitting" boxes don't get ticked....who's gonna know and/or care? Are the bra-fitting police going to come issue me a ticket? Put me in bra jail? I don't think so. I've decided it's just unrealistic to think that every bra HAS to fit perfectly according to the guidelines. If it's comfy and it provides support, that's good enough for me (great, actually!)

  • That's what I've been starting to think too :) Not so much because I've been stubborn but because I've quite recently found a brand that doesn't tick the "perfect" box but that's still comfy and feels supportive for me :) I'm so glad to have an easily available brand that sells affordable bras with good and SOFT quality (too many bras are stiff for me even though they're supportive, it just ends up with me wearing my old bad bras because at least they don't hurt me)!

Now if only they could sell these bras with "altered" bands to begin with... I'm buying 85D's (38D's, they seem to be very consistent because each 38D I've tried in that particular cut has been more or less the same) but I would need 65H's (or 65G's if there's DD in the size table). That's FOUR band sizes too big! I'll have to get around to altering this new bra soon because it's killing me right now!
