Trying to make sense of my horizontal perimeter measurement.

So I'm apparently a very projected woman who has been shoving her poor boobs into Cleos (and wondering why they always look so squished). My horizontal measurement (leaning) is 12.5". Is this the cup depth I should look for in a bra? Should I be at all concerned with my lying down measurement in this area?

  • It depends. If you are very soft then you would want something smaller. If you are very firm this is the minimum depth you need. Also, for every cm of extra cup width you have you need at least another cm of cup depth to cover that extra area under your arm...

  • What do you mean by extra cup width? Like as in, if the cup is wider than you need?

I actually wish I had asked this question but instead I began finding it out the hard way.

Like my horizontal is 16,9 but 15.5~ ish to 16 seems to be my ideal depth in most wide bras, less in the few narrows I've tried. But my breasts are very soft from nursing. Seems like I can stuff them a little more into narrow bras by a few cm. I think I saw somewhere that you should average the perimeters.
