Question to the experts in bra alternations here

If you followed me you know that I’m thinking about trying EM bras for a while. But my guess-timated size is only aviable custom made, even sister – sizes are hardly aviable.
So I saw a 80H CH listed here and compared it to my Alana bra and it says it’s gonna fit me in the cups (band will be obviously too big)

So I’m thinking about buying a 80H Ewa Michalak bra and alter down to 30J/JJ ? Will it affect the fit? Should I rather just buy a custom made bra? What were your experiences with alternations of bigger bands to smaller?

  • How do you normally prefer the width? That is the biggest problem I see: Cups made for bigger bands often have wider wires... But I suppose EM is known for narrow ones, so if it was to work, EM would be the right one for the job. Perhaps straps would also be a problem? If you cut of 6" of the band, you will probably have to move the straps on the back. Are you a good seam-stress? I would recommend you take a band you like, and line it up, see where the straps are placed... You may have to take of some lenght between the wing and strap, and some between the strap and clasp. A truly franken-bra :b If there are any additional measurements you'd like of the CH bra, tell me, I have it right here on my table now :)

  • Yup you will need to move the straps or take them away and add center pull straps instead ;)

@XLHourglass btw, the CHP 80HH with the wire width of 14.5 cm. They differ like crazy? I mean my 34F Millies are cut that narrow and Millie is really one of the narrowest of the Freya bras. It's an absurdly narrow wire width :O
