Dec 10, 2013. About listings (Jj please note this!)

I have been pondering about listed bras. I don´t know if anyone else has problems with this thing, and I am NOT saying that Jj is not doing great work, I think he is :) ... but but, still I have an issue:

I think there should be a way to update my listings, if I changed something about my listings, for example lowered the price. I have noticed that once I list a bra, there might be many interested people in the beginning, but if the listing continues, no one will notice any more. For example I wanted to swap my Panache sports bras to a different size and the listing was under "Exchange" ( I also stated in the text that I might sell). Many people contacted me but they didn´t have such colours I could wear comfortably, so I didn´t swap. After a while I changed the listing to "for sale" and lowered the price (it is quite low now!), but no one has contacted me. Okay it just might be that no one really is interested :) but still, I feel that old listings just get buried in the pile, and no one is ever going to see them.

I also realise that if there was an option to push an update button for your listings so that they would appear first in the listings-section, it could lead to people updating their listings all the time, and that would not be cool either (I´ve seen this in other sites).

Also, there is the option to search for bras, so one technically CAN do a search of the interesting bras every now and then, but do people do that... Also it has happened some times that when I search, the engine does not find some of my listed bras at all! So I don´t really trust the search command 100%.

This happened about a year ago, but one of my bras was listed, then I took the listing away for a while, but decided to list that bra again. I was totally amazed that the listing didn´t appear in the front page, but it got the original, first listing date and was buried in the pile again! I wondered that is it really supposed to work this way but didn´t say anything then. Would the answer to this whole problem be, that if you took your listing away, and create a new listing, that listing would be shown first?

Anyone else having a "problem" with this?

  • I wouldn't necessarily say that it's a problem with the way the listings are[but I'm biased because I praise just about everything Jj does cause he's my Jj.] I think it more has to do with the people using the site. If I'm looking for a bra or a specific size, I take the time to look through things, just as I do on any site. If I have the desire for something, I will go in search. I think it's more about the laziness of people who would need things in flashing neon lights to point them in the right direction.

I do see your point about having the listings buried beneath the newer ones and I agree that changing it could both be hazardous or helpful and I'm not sure that there would be any middle ground.

  • I always search by size and then go through all the pages and look at all the listings. What size is your Panache sport?
