Over the past two months I have been trying to find the right bras for me, and right size. I feel like I have learned so much! I'm going to be posting pictures of different bras in mostly the same size, but some in different sizes too.
When I was first measured I was told I am 29in in band, but after sizing myself with a measuring tape throughout the month I found that I fluctuate between 29-30. With this measurement I started trying 30 bands with all different cups to find which one worked best. I measure a 40 bust around which put into a bra calculator will tell you that I am a 30GG, which is definitely not the case, just thinking about me in a 30GG makes me laugh.
I previously had Panache bras that did not fit me anymore due to weight loss and them being about three years old. I needed new bras very bad >.< they were 32HH
Since I had Panache I wanted to try more Panache because I loved my Cleo Lucy so much. I started with a 30GG lucy (because of the bra calculator) and thought I needed an extra three cup sizes, because my breasts were falling out all over the place, so I went to a 30J. The 30J works as long as I have the straps at their tightest, but the wires went too far back and just felt awkward. Next I tried a 30H, which fits beautifully around my breast with the wire but I had some quad boob over the top so I went to the 30HH. The 30HH has no quad boob, and the wire is okay but I still prefer the H wire. So for the Lucy I have found that I am a 30HH or 32H.
With the Panache brand I have become a big fan in +2 band, especially in their Superbra line. For Superbra I have read a lot of people have gone up a cup size because it fits tighter. I see a lot of girls get a bigger cup and adjust the straps all the way up so the cups fit and wonder why the bra 'fits' but isn't exactly working for them. My advise is that the shape is wrong for you or you need to try a smaller cup and bigger band. If you try your regular size/band and have a little quad boob please try a band bigger first with Panache, it will save you so much money if you are buying bras online like I was.
I have a 32H and 30HH Andorra and the 32H is so much more comfortable even though I measure a 29-30 band and I do like my bands on the tighter side. The 30HH drives me nuts because I have to adjust the straps to their tightest point, witch after a few hours makes my back hurt from the bra moving around and not sitting right. It is just not the right size, even though I love how tight the band feels. The tight band also forces the bra to move down causing a gap in the bottom of the bra. Switching to the 32H fixed everything! The bra staid in place with the straps not being at their tightest, but actually comfortable. Even though I was going up a band size it did not feel much looser because my breasts were filling out the cup better with the under wire not going too far back any more.
Most of my fitting experience has been through Panache but I have a couple in 30H from Curvey Kate and Fantasie I will show.
I definitely want to try more from those two but It will have to be later on since I spent over the budget I set for myself trying to find my Panache sizes.
If you read this and think you might be the same shape as me please let me know!
right now I'm thinking I am- full on top, full on bottom, and close set.
