Altering straps on bras with vertical seams?

I think if I were to move my straps in more on my bras they would fit even better. Problem.is they have vertical seams. When i tug on where Id like the straps to go the seams kind of cut into my boobs. Is there any way to alter the straps on vertically seamed bras?

  • Are you sure that the cups are not too small then? Vertical seams should not be a problem, I have altered _many_ bras with v vertical seams and it is usually the vertical-seamed cups that are the easiest...

  • Recently I altered my Ewa Michalak CH Toffik (whatever you do don't tell Ewa, lol). I moved the straps over on the cups it was really easy. After I pulled off the bows and pulled out the thread, I took the extra elastic that had been folded beneath the strap attachment, and unfolded it. Then I shaped it at a 90 degree angle so that part of it was now behind the tops of the cups. I put the bottom of the straps behind the piece of elastic at the top of the cups, and sewed the straps and the elastic to the tops of the cups. Then I sewed the bows back on and... perfect fit! (The cups seem so much "smaller" this way...be careful not to bring the straps in too much! .5" on each side did the trick for me. I'll try to attach a couple of photos because this probably sounds convoluted. It was, honestly, really easy and it took all of ten minutes.
