Changing wires did not improve a bra

Recently I received 32JJ - Elomi » Kim Plunge Bra (4340) which has still the old wire - there are 2 kind of different wires in Elomi bras, a topic which I talked about in depth in this adventure: http://bra.pe/AFP6/

So the older wires are rather flexible and stretch very easily. I tried to wear as it is to test it, but it would hurt me very badly at the underwire after 3-4 hours in. It gets so bad I need to remove it. Also the fit is not idea as the wire ends too far back. It feels supportive though.

Then I decided to cut apart my old worn out Bravissimo Dina bra and took its wires to put into Kim bra. Bravissimo wires do work well for me. They are strong, sturdy and don't stretch out as much.
So today I wore Kim with new wires but the same thing happened, after 3-4 hours I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I had to remove the bra and change into wireless bra as my underbust was red and raw frm the stabbing pain.

So why did this happen? What could be the issue with this bra, when it's not the wire? Btw I have other Elomi bras that work fine for me, they although have the NEW wire. But Bravissimo wire felt as good as new Elomi wire, why did it not work. Did I do something wrong. Or is the bra just wrong for me?

  • The wire thing--I'm not sure. I can only guess that because the cup construction wasn't made for that set of wires Something went awry--can't say what.

What I will say, though--and this might not be all that helpful as it seems like this isn't a consistent issue with your bras--is that I wear a bra liner with all but like two of my bras. Might be something to look into. I use Pambra's.

  • yes I often use cotton pads or handkerchief if I'm out and about and my bra hurts me as braliner. I could invest in the real thing. It's also mostly on the bottom outside of the wire where the pain occurs so I really wonder sometimes If I'd need more width on bottom of the wire / or more projection? :S

Also wonder If I shall try another wire in my Elomi Kim, for example from an old Panache bra?
