Breast Perimeter vs Cup Depth

If my horizontal, vertical & laying perimeter are all a bit over 11 inches, should I look for a cup depth of the same distance? All of the bras that are recommended to me have about a 10 inch depth and I’m wondering if I should size up or if bras just compress the breast tissue. I know shape plays into it too.

  • For me personally, I find a cup with a 10”-10.5” deep cup works best, but they have to have narrow wires for it to fit me well. I measure out about 10.5”. I’d say maybe a cup depth of 11” would be a good starting place and go from there.

  • My horizontal perimeter fluctuates between 10.25"-11", but I find that bras with a 9.5"-10" depth work best for me. I do have puffy areolas though, so they may "pad out" my breast perimeter.
