No love for the small and shallow? Help!

I’m somewhere in the ballpark of 28 DD-E with shallow tissue and wide roots, not exactly close set because of the shallowness but the tissue ends only a finger apart on my sternum. One is also nearly a whole size bigger. I’ve tried the Cleo Maddie and Lexi bras, the Maddie fit well enough in 28DD, but I think the wires were a bit too narrow, I’m going to order the 28E and see how that feels. The Lexi was oddly rounded at the very top of the cup and cut into my tissue. Everything else I’ve tried in my size range has been very full coverage/come up too high, way too projected and the wires almost always too narrow/too high in the gore. Granted, I have tried mostly 28DD and very few 28E , all from Panache/Cleo and Freya. I live in the US and can’t really seem to find other brands that cater to a different body type and also carry my size. I used to settle for 30 bands but I just can’t stand how much they slide around on me once they’re broken in. Does anybody have some suggestions for bras designed for smaller people? Im tired of settling for bad fits and bralettes. :(

  • Bratabase has a search feature where you can browse bras by different metrics (cup width, cup height, cup depth, etc). Once you find a bra that fits you, take note of the measurements and then you can browse for other bras like it in the database. Here is how:
    -Click Browse
    -by size
    -click your size (28DD)
-then click the small button "measurements"
-the use the drop down button to choose the metric you want to explore (ex: cup height)

The other thing you can do, which helps to narrow down fits, is use the compare feature to see how one bra is going ot fit compared to another bra.
-Choose a bra you want to look at (or one that already fits)
    -Click "Compare this bra"
-navigate to the second bra you want to look at
    -Click "compare this bra"
-then either "compare these" or "keep browsing". If you keep browsing you can continue to add a few bras to compare side to side.

Good luck. Hope someone has some recommendations for you!

  • Thanks for the tip @Wilderness1! I tried it out, it looks like most of the bras that match my fit are discontinued/different versions of the same few bras. I guess I was hoping to find a brand I haven’t tried out yet. Or an unlined bra that isn’t a three part cup. The search continues!
