Some days I wonder if I should just become really good at sewing so that I can just make my own bras exactly the way I need them with whatever fabric I want.

Same here. I have about 15 Frankenbra prototypes right now, but I have yet to cry "It's alive!"
LOL. I have images of mad bra-scientists armed with seam rippers and needles and thread. For some reason, lab goggles and a white lab coat seem appropriate.
