EM 75KKs similar to 60KKs and I’m confused

I was dinking around on this website, and decided to look up FB measurements because I was bored. Apparently, 75KK have an average depth of around 14 inches, which is the same as 60KKs. I’m confused - a 75KK is supposed to be multiple sizes bigger, but the cup depth is virtually the same and the width is about 6.5-7in. Is it the next step after 60KK? Why is bra sizing this confusing?! 😩

  • If you look at the breakdown you will see this is a comparison of apples and oranges, because they aren't measurements of the same bras in different sizes... They're different bras, in different cuts, that vary dramatically in depth, and are represented differently in each size category. Large depth variations between different cup styles and designs at the same size point are normal--if you look at my current size, a very unremarkable 30F/32E, you'll already see cup depths ranging between 8" and 9.5" (and that's just for the data recorded by users who measure accurately!) If you can have variation of 1.5" in depth for cups of that size, imagine the variation that can occur for cups that are roughly 1 and a half times bigger.

Now for the details: the 60KK EM entries are almost exclusively the work of one user and the BM cut she apparently buys, that is stretchy and presumably runs deeper at the apex than all other cuts, is WAY overrepresented compared to other sizes (where there are more entries by more users who therefore enter more cuts of EM bras). Likewise there are really not very many actual measured entries in 75KK,and they are the work of just a handful of users who (unlike our 60KK user) favored the smaller/shallower/nonstretch low-cut cups. Most of those bra designs are a lot older than the 60KKs (and virtually no BMs). Does that make sense?

Finally, averages don't indicate a typical size. Look at the spread of the measurements. 60KK has a ton of 15-16 inch cups, and a whole slew of 12-13 depths which aren't even real measurements--they're just assumed depth based on data from users who measured other sizes, some of which might be kinda far away from this square on the bra size table. In contrast, 75KK has almost EVERYTHING tightly clustered around the 14.5 inch depth (again--for the smaller non-BM bras).

  • wendybien I get that they are different cuts, but basically what I saw is that the Fb line could be the the next step after 60KK, even though the smallest size is a couple cups larger.
I also looked up the measurements for Sf in 60KK, and they all measured around 14.8 inches. Since Sf is a sister cut, if you’re at the end of the range, you Fb could theoretically work for you.
