A more wearable transformation

After my huge disaster with my PL Toffik I ordered, I figured I had nothing to lose, so I made some alterations (with the help of my wonderful mother).
~I unpicked the strap and side elastic (and the lace at the top)
~Moved the strap into a more natural position
~Sewed the strap in place
~Cut down the side of the bra
~Sewed the side elastic to the strap and re-attached lace
~Reduced the stretched length by sewing some ribbon over some of the band

I've put in a link to an image of what it looks like now it's done.

The finished product is kind of ugly, but infinitely more wearable than before! I now have a bra which (mostly) fits me. I feel like this type of alteration would work a lot better on a bra which doesn't have foam cups because it would have been really nice to put a dart in the top to get rid of some of the excess fabric. I'm not sure what I'm going to order next- I'm thinking maybe an SM bra because it will be easier to fix it if it's a disaster, and I'm thinking only EM bras in my size will have narrow enough wires to not wrap around to my back.

I'm looking into making some of my own bras, but I feel like that will take some time, and I do need more than one bra that fits.

  • You don't happen to have a before photo of you wearing it? So we could see how far set the straps were in the beginning. It'd be kinda awesome to have a before pic and after pic while you're wearing it.

  • Umm sure- I can dig those up. Be aware that I have a rash which is from ill-fitting bras and sensitive skin. Better fit should hopefully fix it a bit

You can see the cups caving from being too high and too wide to fit on my frame

It looks kind of weird at the side, but it actually works.
