Breast pain during PMS

I mentioned in a previous post of mine (linked) that I'm still growing, and also many of my 30E bras are kind of too small, but I still wear them anyways. Though it's super frustrating during that time of the month, because I think that I, like many young women who are slim with big breasts, have mostly glandular tissue as opposed to fat. So I'm also sensitive to hormonal changes, and my breasts always feel sore and swollen, and also somewhat dense and lumpy. When they're swollen, I think they're a little bit bigger than they usually are, because the bras that I own go from being a little on the small side to practically unwearable. Literally, the underwires are killing me when my breast tissue is already sore and extra sensitive.

What advice do you have for me? I was thinking a wireless bra could help, but they don't seem to have any of those in my size, and a bralette makes me feel way too exposed and unsupported. I was also thinking about buying some 32DDD bras online from Aerie because they go on sale a lot and are generally not very expensive, but I think that they might cause more problems than they fix because I'm a 30 band size, but I'd say I'm closer to a 28 than I am to a 32. Really, I'd be better sucking it up and spending some money on 30F's, but it's tempting to find a bra for $20-30, even if it's not exactly in my size.

  • You c an try wireless bras such as Freya deco or gossard they both do have them and you can get nice cleavage if they would fit you, also maybe panache sports bra?
I don't struggle with my polish bras but my boobs just get fuller on top before period rather than grow overall

  • I definitely feel you on this one. I've had swollen, heavy and dense pms boobs every month for as long as I can remember.
It helps to have 1 or 2 bras in a cup size larger (or whatever you need) specifically for the week or so you will need them. Keep your usual band size unless you feel bloated as well. I wouldn't recommend trying 32DDs unless the bands are firm or tighter than 32. I find the bands on cheaper bras stretch out super fast anyway so you'll still end up having breast tissue escape and get pinched by wires. If you're concerned about not having enough bras for a proper wash rotation, you could always wear them just when you're out of the house and then change to an Ahh Bra or Genie Bra when you get home. They're great to wear around the house and to sleep in but I don't think you'll find them useful for high impact sports.

Nothing is worse than feeling betrayed by your favourite bra that you had once thought would never hurt you. Good luck on this and keep us posted on what you decide to do!
