Successssssss

:D

I bought a Fauve Chloe Vertical Seam Bra (0311) a while back and lamented greatly when it didn't fit. I put it up for sale, but no one ever bit, so I revisited this bra to see if there was an alteration I could do to make it work.

Turns out, yes, there was!

I folded it over at the vertical seam and sewed it up, which reduced the cup depth and made the top of the cup a little shallower. It worked!!! The Chloe fits me now! The shape is a little flat at the apex, but it's not a bad job for a complete amateur who was making up as she went. Now to alter down the band.

Similarly, I also have a Simone Perele Delice Demi (12X330) which wanted more upper projection and shorter roots. I folded the top of the cup down so that the top edge and the end of the seam met. This got rid of the ugly space at the top of the cup so there isn't an ugly bump under shirts! I still need to alter down the band and the straps (I really like this bra, can you tell?) before I can wear it, but the cups were the most important bit, so yay!

I have unlined bras I can wear! *dances*

  • Fantastic!! I'm thrilled for you! :-) :-) :-)

  • Wow, I'm impressed you improved the fit of these two bras so much! Are you going to add pictures to each bra's entry? I'm working up the nerve to move the underwire channels of some of my bras, including my own Fauve Chloe vertical seam bras.
