Going down to band 30 (30D) is better
Original problem
The band is larger than my size (28/30) but I found a sister size 32C really cheap NWT so wanted to try this first to see if the cup size and shape are ok.
The band is comfortably snug at the tightest hook. There's no gaping at the top of the cup.
I wore it for a day and it seems alright comfort wise.
But my breasts look rather far apart in the bra?
I think my shape shallow, tall root. Not sure if FOB or FOT because when leaning, my nips point toward the ground, but I often get gaping at the top of the cups.
If the bra shape and cup size look okay, I probably need a smaller band might go for 30C or 30D (or some other size).
Any recommendations for bras that might work?

helpfulI think the fit looks okay. Yeah, if you're already wearing it on the tightest hook, then I would go down to the 30 band next time you order one, just because the band will loosen up with wear.
If you sister-size down, the cups might be slightly less tall, too. I know there have been write-ups about Japanese bras that have underwires that push everything more "up and cleavage-y" but that's kind of a unique style.
Here is the write-up https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/sbsoar/japanese_bras_the_how_where_why_guide/
The best size for you might be tight 30 bands though. Even your loose ribcage is 27.6, so not even to 28 inches. Polish brands make your size as well.
Your size in Comexim would be 65D or 65E according to this calculator https://comeximcalc.herokuapp.com/result?band_size=30&cup_size=D&store_name=Comexim

2HC (2-part half-cups) are the most shallow. That would be like the Comexim Mimi https://www.comexim.pl/pl/szukaj?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=mimi&submit_search= Or I believe you can have any bra made that way, here is an example of Ardea made as a 2HC. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/ardea-2hc/50F/
So, I think the 2HC can be customizable for any bra they have. They also have padded 3HCs (3-part half cups) which are more shallow than their padded plunges.
However, they also have a "padded plunge with a low bridge" like the ginger https://www.comexim.pl/pl/plunge/365-ginger-biustonosz.html?search_query=Ginger&results=6 (I think you could request any of their bras made this style)I also saw this on braswap https://www.reddit.com/r/braswap/comments/xswosn/sale_28dd_55h_and_60f_comexim_freya_gossard/ this is the same person who does the Irish bra lady on Instagram. Anyway, for the Eris Plunge, she requested the "wider cup alteration" which *I believe* is requested wider underwires than what they normally do for that size - I was kind of unaware of that alteration until recently.
Haha, this is a ton of information. If you're in the US or Canada, I think I would start with the padded 3HCs from Breakout Bras to see how they fit. https://www.breakoutbras.com/collections/comexim I don't think they have any 2HCs.

This is some great info. Thank you! Not in US/Canada so will be buying directly. I heard many people request straps to be moved in 2 cm? I'm often told I have narrowish shoulders, although I'm not sure. But moving the straps would probably make the cups smaller. Do you recommend not altering anything for the first order?

That's a great question. It's hard for me to say.
It's my understanding, sometimes they will do the alteration, and sometimes they will forget. It just depends on who is making the bra/communication.

helpfulThe girls seem rather lost in this bra. I agree with you about the wide spaced look. Natori feathers does that as it is a bra suited for that wide and shallow breast. If that is what a person is then that is what they need! Given your frame and measurements, I do not agree with your bra tissue as being wide or shallow. Small breasted women get told that a lot by folks not in the know. It looks like you are new to the bra fitting stage so no worries! Measure your self, look at pictures here of women in 28 inch bands in cup sizes that match your breast volume. Freya bras in the 28 inch bands would be a good place to start. There are bras that are closed on top or open so need to be aware of that. Balcony bras will tend to not work for your narrow frame so I would stay clear of those regardless of what a deal they might be. Being similar in size to you and finding it difficult to embrace the sub 32 inch band and the smaller choices available, I still dip into the 32 inch bands hoping that they will fit. They can fit if I keep in mind the cup width and depth, but invariable find that I have to shorten the band.
Good luck in your bra search and getting to know your shape.

Which Comexim styles are shallow and more likely to work for me? Half cup, plunges, balcony?
