Bra fitting help » To band size down, or not to band size down ... ?

Ewa Michalak » Ch Onyks (141) » 65E 30:6

Issue resolved

As there are no takers for this fitting help request, I'm going to close it. I guess the only way to find out is to try and order a smaller band size, bur I'm not sure I'm ready to take that 'plunge' ;) Meanwhile, this beauty has been sent back to Poland *sniff*

Original problem

Because of the many wonderful and insightful responses I received on my PL Onyks fitting help request, here's another bra I'd like some help with. This one too I THINK fits reasonably well, although I'm quite sure it can be lots better.

My two main issues:

(1) I can close this bra at the tightest hook, and still have space to spare. I prefer my bra bands snugger than that.

(2) I could do with wires that are just a little bit wider and larger, as the ones in this size feel ever so slightly too narrow.

More information:

Closed at the tightest hook it, as I said, actually fits okay. In fact, of the three Ewa Michalak bras I tried, I think the cups of this one suit me best: they gives me great lift and shape without me having to tighten the straps as much as with any other bra I've ever tried. When I move my arms, it also doesn't really have the 'gaping or quad boob' problem the way the PL Onyks does. It DOES gape a tiny bit on my smaller left side, but I can live with that. Besides, I can use one of the 'cookies' to make it less noticeable.

Now, I can of course alter this 65 band of and make it tighter, but when I simply pull it that way to simulate a tighter fit I find I definitely need more space in the cups. Also, as said, I could do with wires that are just a little bit wider and larger. For some reason, of the three EM bras, the wires in this bra FEEL by far the narrowest and the least comfortable, yet when I compare them there actually isn't that much noticeable difference, other than their shape. (*)

(*) the wires in the HM Gold for example FEEL much much wider, yet the only difference is that they are longer and come up higher, both at the centre gore and at the sides. Of course the HM band is a snugger fit, so that might also account for the difference in experience.

Anyway, to sum it up:

Will 'band sizing' down to a 60F (if necessary worn with an extender) be likely to solve my issues and provide me a better fit?

As 60 bands are 'custom-made and no-return', I'd really appreciate to learn your expert opinion before I do something potentially stupid ;)

Thanks for your thoughts!
