    Didn't fit

I've never had any luck with Wacoal bras, although the B.Tempt'd line sometimes works for me. I decided to try the Wacoal Lace Affair Contour bra based on reviews raving about comfort and a rumored TTS band, but unfortunately this didn't work out for me at all.

First, I've noticed that Wacoal bras run much larger than brands I am used to. I know that Panache tends to run a little larger than Cleo, and Victoria's Secret mainline tends to run a little larger than Pink, but I feel that Wacoal runs significantly larger than B.Tempt'd. While the measurements don't sound ridiculous, the overall effect of ... the bra is almost a size too big. The band is extremely stretchy and rides up, although the unstretched measurement is pretty normal for 30D. The cups are wider, deeper, and taller than normal molded cups of this size. While I can fill out the bottom, the top is pretty empty. Unlike shallow Natori molded bras, this is really rounded, almost like grapefruit halves. This would be best for a truly rounded shape.

The weirdest part of the fit, however, is the fact that the gore didn't tack completely. I can't remember any other bra in the hundreds I have tried and listed on Bratabase where the gore fit like this, and there's nothing unusual about the measurements or bra construction that should cause this to happen except the fact that the band is too big, and the cups are too big. The gore tacks at the top but the bottom is just floating. Very bizarre.

I do have to say that as far as a molded t-shirt bra goes, this one is a little more attractive than most. The cups are a soft satin with a subtle sheen (though this fabric snags easily), and the contrast lace is quite beautiful, especially the overlaid portion over contrast mesh used in the wings. There's a leotard back with attractive stitching on the U curve elastic binding, and the straps have a nice ribbon-like texture and are fully adjustable. If this bra fits you, I can imagine it would be a prettier version of a daily basic that's elevated from the utilitarian. However, don't expect a TTS fit if brands like Cleo, Betsey Johnson, B'Temptd, or Natori are what you're used to, unless you are able to size down in both band and cup.
