    Didn't fit

Update: Ugh. Much to my disappointment, upon normal wear this bra is not comfortable AT ALL. If I tighten the straps enough that they don't slip, they're uncomfortably tight and leave red marks. The band leaves red marks also. The underwire pokes under my arm on my smaller side and the seams and edges are scratchy. Such a bummer. I'm going to try it with an extender - hopefully that helps, because this bra was not inexpensive and I'm never going to want to wear it the way it currently fits.

    Previous review:

My first unlined bra, and I love it. I went for a professional ... fitting today just to see what would come of it, and this is one of two results. While technically not a PERFECT fit (I'm so picky now that I know what to look for), but it's pretty darn close. The tiniest bit of quadding on my larger side that I didn't notice until I took the pics is not enough for me to discount the rest of it. I love it. Did I mention that?

I looked up the model and it's called a full cup - but I think it fits more like a demi. The details are lovely - beautiful lace with coordinating shiny embroidery, ribbon straps, scalloped edging, and an interesting sheer cutout on the gore. The color (somewhere between red and orange) is not something I would have imagined I would like.. I usually go for pastels or beige, but I tried it on just to see what the style was like and ended up loving it. It's a really nice color for fall, and goes with my hair. As an added bonus, the lace, embroidery, and material of the cup somehow make the headlights barely noticeable. W00t! An unlined lace bra I can wear!

Fit wise, it's pretty close to perfect. The band is nice and snug and sits level, the gore tacks, and the straps have enough stretch to be comfortable, but not so much that they'll slip down. In this style I ended up down a band size, and the support feels really good. I even don't mind how the back looks - I seem to do better with wider wings/bands. I maybe could have gone up a cup size, but I thought if I did I would end up with some gapping. No gapping here in the 32D, even on my smaller side. It makes me feel pretty, and I'm really happy with it.

Love it! It's so pretty. Have you tried loosening the straps an inch or two?? People who are newish to optimal bra sizing tend to overtighten them without realizing it (the result of a lifetime of dealing with too-loose bands). And for some reason even well-trained professional fitters and boutique staff seem to take grim satisfaction in also tightening them well beyond reason! Maybe they think that extra firm uplift will clinch the sale lol. But anyway, I think the slightly snug effect will ease up and result in a 100% perfect cup fit if you relieve some of the strap tension.
In my experience Perele bra bands sometimes stretch out fast if they're strained, as they tend to be when I'm on the cusp of two band sizes in a certain model and buy the smaller one. I have learned to eke out another 3-6 months' life by initially using a (non-elasticated) extender to add just a half inch or so of band length. After a few months it starts to feel loose that way and then I can start wearing it with no extender but it's much gentler on the band.

    • wendybien You read my mind! After wearing this bra out and about for a few hours, I started to realize how uncomfortably tight the band and straps were, and that the lace and seams are quite scratchy on my back and under my arms. Booo!
I washed it to try and soften it up a bit, and ordered an extender. I loosened the straps as well, but then they started slipping off my shoulders. Gaahhh! Just when you think you’ve found a good bra...
