    Didn't fit

    Edited to add:
My thanks to Bratabaser jennyanni for inquiring after my band measurements in my initial review. I had overstated both stretched and unstretched measurements by about two inches! I have no idea why these two measurements were so off. Measurements have been corrected.

I like this bra--no I LOVE this bra for its high wings and wide band in back. No back fat! No back bulging, no grooves visible under clothing! Makes me resent how most bras create back fat when it's not inevitable. The low gore is a mercy, too. Unfortunately I chose a band too big and therefore the cups don't give me the slenderized ... front view this brand is known for.

Extrapolating from this one 34E bra, the only Satami I've tried, I will in future:
    (1) Order a 32 band bra. I usually wear a UK 30F. This 34 band bra fits snugly on the tightest hooks.
    (2) Order a 32G Satami. I hope the straps will be less wide-set in front in a 32G compared to this 34E. Satami doesn't use DD in their sizing. I believe a Satami 32G is equivalent to a UK 30F.

This 34E's cup width is 6" and could be narrower on me. My breasts are less front-and-center than I expected. I believe it's because the wires are wider than necessary. The cups are filled without gapping or wrinkling.

The wide-set straps aren't worse than those of my 65F Ewa Michalak 3D bras. I have MUCH LESS underarm bulging and back fat in the Satami. My Ewa Michalak 3D bras and Empreinte Irina Very Plunge bras allow an average amount of underarm bulge and back fat. My back is TOTALLY SMOOTH in the Satami.

The Satami wires don't come all the way up the wire channel under the arms. If I push the wires all the way to the sides, the wired part of the center gore height shrinks from 1.75" to only one inch high. There are two side stays on the wing, under each arm. These don't bother me. I hope the underwires being all the way under my arms will also be fine. If so, I can achieve a more comfortable 1" gore height. Satami has super low gore bras, but they aren't available in the 32G range.

These fit notes apply to wearing the bra without pads. If I include the pads, my shape gets lumpier. As it is, the profile is projected and almost conical. More importantly, the front view is not as slimmed down as I'd like. That's the main reason to size down to a 32G.

Thank you! The bands look fantastic and the low gore is outstanding for us close-set bra wearers.

    • 2

Yay! Someone else tried on a Satami! I went to the store and tried on one of their latest models after my last review - mostly to guage size. My usual 32F (UK) was waaay too small in Satami. Got fitted in a 34G. While I could have probably fit in a 32 band, it was VERY tight. Very slightly uncomfortable but my tight underbust is 29 so take from that what you will. Problem was they don't make a 32H.

I actually LOVE this Satami bra. This is my first Asian bra and it fit the description of what I needed: high wings, low gore, push up and in. I knew it was the wrong size but I wanted to try it. I was so happy that it was everything I wanted it to be! My big disappointment is that Satami does not make 30" bands anymore. Why?!!!

The quality of the bra seems high. The thick band and 4 hooks is rare to find in my cup size, so I love that. The back is very smooth. I ... found the bra did slip out of my IMF which is why the band probably felt a bit restrictive after a while. This is probably due to the fact that I bought the wrong size. I wear it on the tightest hooks but after several hours, I need to put it on the middle hooks. Note: The band is larger than what I need but the cup size is too small.

I do love the high side wings. There are pockets for cookies which I love. (Mine didn't come with cookies which is fine.)

This bra fits similar to my La Senza 32D plunge bra, maybe just a tad smaller in the cups. The band in the La Senza 32D was much larger, but in terms of how the cups fit and shape the breasts, and cup sizing. My nipples actually pop out of my bra when I scoop and swoop. So these pictures actually have them tucked in. You're welcome. Lol! Sorry the camera quality is bad, I just wanted to get some pics up quickly for everyone.

I was actually looking for a bra where I could get nice cleavage and I think you can get that in this bra. I also love the sides of the cup which push the breasts more centre. I was looking for a lined push up and it is also hard to find that feature in my size. I find the cup height perfect for my petite body. I usually have to get plunge bras for the low gore feature but the cup height is usually too high. My breasts fit better in a demi bra or half cup, except for the higher gore in demi bras. I am so pleased this demi bra has a low gore! I was looking for a bra that is comfortable, gives a nice shape and where my breasts don't spill out the side. If I was to get this bra in my proper size, I believe it would do all these things.

This bra may not be for everyone. For my shape, I do really like the bra. I would order a Satami in my size, if it existed. I may end up getting a 32E (uk 32DD) and altering the band. I find it comfortable and it gives a nice shape for me. It is hard to find all the qualities this bra offers in my size so I do like it.

I did my best to match my bra with what is currently available through their online store (BR-02179) https://www.online-satami.com/BR-02179-PR-Pink-Lace-Push-up-Demi-Soft-Cup-Bra?search=lace%20demi&page=2. All the details are identical (from the dual darts in the lace and the ballet straps in the back to the placement of the lace in the front) with the exception of the "wincool" fabric - my older model features regular cotton.

The cups are not premolded - 2 pieces sews together much like the Comexim ones. Full band with 2 pieces of boning in each side wing. As for the cups themselves, I have heard they run a bit on the smaller side - cannot comment myself as these no longer fit. You may also want to size up in the cups for more/better coverage given to the plunge style. WHERE TO BUY/TRY ON
A word on where to get Satami. The largest selection is through their company website - which also offers bras on sale. While you can occasionally find bras on Ebay, they were few and far between (literally only 3 when I searched). As for brick and motar choices, if you are fortunate to live near a large metropolitian area with lots of Asians, possibly try the lingerie stores there. In California, there is a small chain called Personal Touch Lingerie that carries the Satami brand. If you decide to venture to a physical store at one of these TINY Asian run lingerie places, be forewarned about the possible HIGH Pressure sales tactics and VERY limited size selection. In essence, its possibly not much different than shopping at a regular boutique lingerie place! Ha!

Four rows of hooks on a 30D?! That's amazing. I love the very low and narrow gore, too. lilcrasher , can you link to the page where they sell the very similar bra today? What size do you think someone who usually wears a UK 30F or 30FF should choose in this model? I want a bra with four rows of hooks and eyes as well as very high wings!

    • 2

I'm pretty sure its this one: https://www.online-satami.com/BR-02179-PR-Pink-Lace-Push-up-Demi-Soft-Cup-Bra?search=lace%20demi&page=2. I would say keep the band size (especially if you like it snug) and possibly go up a cup size.

    • 1

Thanks, lilcrasher ! This bra must sell well. They're out of all but two sizes. I'm looking at some of their minimizer bras as well. Satami apparently uses "minimizer" to mean the opposite of what American bra companies mean. Satami minimizers push boobs front and center so the torso looks slimmer from the front. Now I have to decide if I want to buy one of these bras in the available colors or wait until they restock in a beige type color.

    • 1

Yes! You are absolutely correct about the minimizer naming misconception! You can **gulp** take a risk and try one of their other styles... or search by size. I put up more 2 more reviews on the other bras I have from them if you want to check those out. There's also this one I found randomly online: http://estylingerie.com/tag/satami/. This was the only review I could find on Satami bras in english!

    • i wish i could buy one of these to try, too bad they don't ship to USA

    • 1

I'm much more intrigued by this than I should be. (The wide band and low narrow gore sound really interesting.) Alas, at 30G/32FF UK, their D/E/F/G/H (D/DD/E/F/FF) cups don't go high enough if they run even a LITTLE small. And it probably would not work at all for someone who needs depth as much as I do. BUT I'm glad to see more options, even if they don't work for me :> Thank you for sharing.

    • I think they do ship to the US.... They ship to aparrently every other country! The site says you need to email them. I went ahead and emailed them about shipping to US...I'll keep you guys updated on what I find!

    • 1

I think the wide band is for back and armpit smoothing. From what I've read, Asian lingerie in general promotes a very smooth silhouette because of beauty ideals. I wish this lovely band came on a bra in my size!

    • lilcrasher i emailed them as well yesterday, we will see :)

    • I got a tip to message them on Facebook for faster response. Here's the response I got:

We regret to inform you that we are unable to ship to U.S. at the moment. However, we have a sole distributor in the U.S. who can assist you to purchase our products. We have copied this message to our USA Distributor - Personal Touch Lingerie Inc., regarding your enquiry for their information and follow up. Meanwhile, you are more than welcome to contact their Toll-Free Number at 1-888-882-2812 ext. 708.

If you don’t mind, we can help to forward your contact phone number to our customer service officer based in the U.S. who can contact you directly. Please let us know and thank you again.

      Best regards,
      Satami Online

    • I did message back stating I did want to get in touch with their US based customer service officer. Seems like there is some interest here it would be great if we can purchase online at least!

    • Thanks for the update, lilcrasher . I may call Personal Touch Lingerie to see about a Satami "minimizer" bra. Maybe they still have a pink or beige one in my size.

    • i can not find any satami bras on Personal Touch's website?

    • 1

Okay, I called one of the local stores to get the low down. First off, the was the wholesale website. Try www.shopptouch.com

Second, they can order Satami bras in your size of they don't have it in store. Shipping takes 2-3 weeks.

If you decide to place an order over the phone, I recommend calling the Arcadia location. She spoke fluent english without the pushy sales tactics I experienced in store (at one of the other locations)..

    • Do you have a referral code, lilcrasher ? I'm on the website now, and off to the left side as I'm browsing plunge bras, I see:
      Were you referred by someone?
      Enter code here:

Instead of the bra you reviewed, I'm probably going for one of the plunge bras described as having "Low center gore." I was looking at this one:
Cotton Blended Lace Demi Moulded Bra
      https://shopptouch.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_64&product_id=165&limit=100

Only problem is this one isn't available in pinky beige or beige at all. I do love the jewel colors, though.

    • Argh, why are these moulded plunge bras on the shoptouch.com website only going up to a D cup at best? Even sister sizing four band sizes won't work, unless the cups run big.

    • 1

They go up to G cup in selected styles. I just tried on a few at the physical store for you guys! Review on my blog coming soon! This is my fave thus far. https://shopptouch.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=235&search=2188

    • Oh, and try searching for your size on the official Satami website. Find the model number for the ones you are interested in then search on the Personal Touch site. Unfortunately, the shopptouch.com site doesn't support searching by size.

    • lilcrasher , what size do you wear in UK bras? I need the cup volume of a UK 30F and a center gore no higher than 1.75" though 1.5" is better.

    • 1

Here it is! Review of online store and size/fit comparison! http://multifariousmommy.blogspot.com/2017/05/satami-bras.html

    • 1

The 30D bra I have only measures 1.5" tall at the center gore. Although I think it depends on model. How does the 30 band fit? Would you be comfortable if it was tighter? If so, maybe try 30G or 30 H. More than likely though, a 32G would be your best bet. The 32 band only measures 30 (maybe 30.5) stretched. AND I had to go up 2 cup sizes.

    • 1

    • Thanks for the excellent blog post with detailed measuring instructions and Satami stats, lilcrasher ! It sounds like 32G would fit volume wise. So the 34G you said in your blog that is your Satami size is the one with a 1.5" center gore?

    • Thanks for the excellent blog post with detailed measuring instructions and Satami stats, lilcrasher ! It sounds like 32G would fit volume wise. So the 34G you said in your blog that is your Satami size is the one with a 1.5" center gore?

    • I own those 2 bras and the center gore did measure 1.5" tall - in a 30D. I don't imagine there would be a significant difference (if any) in gore height between a 30D and 32G. Definately avoid the tshirt bra as that measured 2" exactly.

    • Given the unfriendly return and exchange policy at their US distributor (no returns, only exchanges within 7 days and possibly after restocking fee), I'll wait to learn how high the gore on your 34G is, lilcrasher . If you get a referral code from shoptouch.com, post it here so we can reward you for your awesome info!

    • Hey, lilcrasher , I found a Satami 34E on eBay. It looked like one of the lined demi cups, similar to your reviewed Satami. The seller said the center gore was 1.75" high, so I bought it. I can return it within 30 days without a restocking fee. It's NWOT, described as not worn. I'll add measurements when it arrives. Very excited!

    • You were referred to us by Satami HK.

Thank you for your interest in Satami product line, we are their “Exclusive Distributor” in U.S.A.

We are very excited to share with you our newly updated website for Satami USA: www.satamiusa.com Password: shape

Satami has many new and exciting products in 2017. After you set up the account on our site, we will keep you informed of the great new products upon arrival so you won’t miss out!

For your convenience, we have also attached an order form. You may either place your order directly on the website Or, fax/email your order to us upon completion of the attached order form.

Please do not hesitate if you have any other questions. We look forward to receiving your order very soon!

    • the above comment by me was their email to me this morning.

    • Thank you! I was going to say there was some kind of crazy disconnect but the Satamiusa.com site seems to be a portal to the Personal Touch site. It says PTL Global Inc at the top (parent company of Personal Touch Lingerie) and the exchange/refund policy is the same as PTL.

    • Oh! There are NO PRICES on the satamiusa.com site! I assume this site is for wholesalers only?!?!?

    • lilcrasher the website i posted is crazy cheaper then the Personal Touch webiste.
      and
you have to "register" to see the prices, which are soooo much cheaper then the Personal Touch's webiste

    • lilcrasher my post here explains this and the pricing
      http://www.bratabase.com/adventures/entry/15043/

    • I caught the price after login thing right after I posted. The prices on the 2 or 3 bras I tried on were the same... ALTHOUGH they actually have a SALE section! Woot! Woot!

    • that's so strange, the prices i saw on the same bras on PTL website were $50-$80!!! and found the same one's for $25-$35 on satamiusa site? weird.

    • Hold up. I apparently don't know what I'm talking about! The prices are cheaper. The bra was a full $11 cheaper on the Satamiusa.com site. I am adding this new info to my blog now!

    • Were you comparing the exact same style? I noticed that the satamiusa.com site lists WIRELESS bras first - which are in the price range you indicated.

But this brings up another question. Satami-Online has style 2191 for $60.47 (not including the sale colors @ $36.97). Satamiusa has same style for $63.99. Shopptouch has the same style for $69.99. ALL PRICES ARE IN USD.

Do you think Satami-USA will price match Satami HK?

    • it's worth a shot, when i did a search, i put my size and listed lowest to highest, so all i would see are the cheap ones in my size.

    • this is the bra i was talking about:
Lace Soft Cup Bra Black and White
      $23.99
      Product Code: BR-01207-BW

    • 1

Nice! Looks like that particular one is on Sale. Yay! Or at least, it was listed in the sale section as well. Those of us with small band and large cup size have fewer choices as they only make small band/large cup in a few styles (think I counted 8 or 9).

I don't get much of a push up from this Satami like I do on some of the other styles. I do not have push up pads so maybe that is what your suppose to use to get the effect? The bra is a tad too frilly for me, and I like frilly things, so if that says anything. The outside side support does show through tops.
