Ok, I need one of you to go East, and one of you to go West. When you find my boobs, tell them we’re gonna meet right here near the middle!
Lol oh so Samantha bras and I are just a fail when it comes to shape match. However, if you can fit the mold, this bra is gorgeous! Pictures don’t do the color justice. The embroidery is beautiful and the appliqué on the straps is very eye catching. Straps are actually detachable. Assuming you can criss cross them in the back or swap them out for clear straps or fancy straps with crystals if you have or want to wear it as such. Straps are very wide set and eat my armpits like it’s a main course meal. Band is nice and firm. Very sheer and sexy, but it’s just not for me with the fit.

I have been lusting over the emboirderies on Samanta bras for months. But, before getting Magda to order some for me, I really wanted to try one in my size, or close to my size, to get a gauge of their fit and quality. So, for $30 I bought one from a fellow Bratabase user, figuring I'd rather risk $30 than $100+.

    First, I'll comment on fit:

This band, listed as 65, is tighter than any 65 I have tried so far. That being said, it wasn't too tight to fasten BUT...the wires distort very, very quickly when the band is stretched on this bra.

Being an I cup, I knew ... it was going to be too big - I just wanted to see how much too big. I usually wear a 65G in EM bras and Samanata's calculator gives me 65H as suggested size.

The wires are much wider on this cup than I anticipated it would be. They go under my armpits.

Now, I am not sure if it's just because the cup overall is too big, but I suspect that it's A) wider than an EM would be in this cup size and B) they were distorted by me having to stretch the band to get it closed.

The straps are also too wide and the wing comes up into my armpit - all I suspect due to it simply being too big for me.

The thing that puzzles me the most about this bra is what's going on with the gore - it folds over itself and therefore, jabs me in the chest.

Also, when I laid this bra down to take photos, I noticed that when closed, the bra won't lie flat on the table. If this common in small band/larger cup bras? It doesn't happen on any of the others that I own.

Now, let's talk about quality of construction and appearance of the bra:

This bra is GORGEOUS. The embroideries are just as nice as they appear online in photos.

This one is a unique colourway - it's not blue and it's not purple. It's indigo. And the embroideries are gold with metallic copper. It's stunning.

It's a 3-part balcony bra with one vertical seam and one, upper, diagonal seam. There's a side sling in the cup, too, for extra support.

The band is a nice soft knit and the straps are super comfy and the embroidery continues half way up. Surprisingly, I did not need to shorten the straps up over my shoulder as I do in my EM bras.

The cups are made from a mesh that isn't quite as soft as the sheer mesh EM uses - I wonder would that change with washing?

Overall, I LOVE this bra, and would order more, but only if I had a little more confidence about what size and how the wires and gore would react in that size.

I have to agree that it is a stunning bra! That embroidery! But whoa wide wires! I do think that it’s the wires flexing from tight band, but probably also from being too big in general. Twisty gore might be 1) too wide if you’re close set or 2) also being affected by soft wires and tight band/wire distortion.

That bra is so gorgeous, but 24" stretch for a 65? That's insane. As far as not lying flat, I think that is a too wide wires thing. My EMs lie flat.

    • 1

Yup. I COULD stretch it further, but I was watching the wires and as soon as I saw them start to distort, I stopped. This band is crazy small

    • 1

Wow, this is sooo gorgeous. Strangely wide wires and small band, though. It's a shame it doesn't fit better.

    • Sonya it really, really is. Enough so, that I think I'm going to take a risk and order another Samanta from poland in a different size.

    • AprilGoulding it is a balconette style so the wires are wider. In Samanta I usually go down in band with the same cup size. For example in Kinga I will be 75H but in Samanta I am 70H And the best fit for me is 922 which has deeper yet cups and pushes breasts up and front

    • polkadotbra A122 is described as soft cup hmmmm. They describe another number A142 as balconette. If I try, I'll go with a 922.

    • Wow, this is such a gorgeous bra!! Too bad about the size/fit, but maybe in the right size the wires wouldn't be that wide

This fabric is incredible! Thanks so your in depth review. I hope you end up getting one that works for you!

I adore this bra. The cups are so narrow and deep (this size, 65I, is two cup sizes smaller than my typical EU size). They are so deep that I would definitely recommend sizing down in the cup.

I sized down in the band as well, because the band runs a tiny bit stretchy (not a full band size though) and I am really in between a 65 (30) and 70 (32) anyway. I may wear this with one hook of an extender, though, as I might be getting a touch of wire distortion.

This bra is so so gorgeous. I adore the trim that runs around the entire band, I love the red and pink flowers embroidered all over it. It has pink detailing on the straps as well as a pink bow at the center and the signature gold "S" Samanta charm.

What a beautiful bra! I love the lace detailing at the top of the cups! You look great in it. :)

      Thanks everyone! :)

@gratiat Samanta can be hard to get a hold of if you're in the US (not sure if you are or not). They come up on Zulily sometimes but sizing is tricky (not all the models run as big as this one, and they make tons of different models) and it can be hard to figure out which is which since Zulily doesn't use model numbers. I tried emailing them directly about shipping to the US and the never answered.

I think that Erica at A Sophisticated Pair is carrying a few Samanta models now, and she has also posted a few blog posts about them. Good luck to you and let me know if I can answer any questions!

    • 1

Yes, sadly they A) don't ship to the US and B) the one Aurora they have left is not my size or I'd ship it to a UK friend. I'll reach out to Erica, thanks. :)

    • 1

gratiat ive shipped to a friend in Germany and had her mail a couple orders for me. I've found they cheaper than zulily if I'm buying more than one bra on sale

    • 1

gratiat Did you email recently? Last they told me about 2 months ago they would ship to the USA but sadly it's by courier and crazy expensive! I could not justify it :(

    • 1

I didn't email, but just looked on their site. Shame about their only option to the US being ridiculously expensive.

Bought in a recent Zulily event. I, like probably everyone else, guessed at my size based on Miss Underpinnings's reviews and then crossed my fingers.

Unfortunately, I guessed wrong--I might be able to take a 65I in one of Samanta's "very deep" constructions, but there's nowhere near enough projection at the gore in this style for me. (A225 is a half-padded cut. Samanta's site states that it's designed for larger breasts, but I don't think it's one of their "very deep" styles.) I can fit at least two fingers between the gore and my sternum. Because I have very close-set breasts and funky ribs, my gores usually don't tack ... firmly all the way down, but this is a bit silly even for me. I marked the tops of the cups as wrinkling on the fit quiz, though it's really only the portion near my armpits and probably due mostly to the fact that the cups are a bit tall for me. Even that wrinkling goes away when I push the gore down to my chest, and then all is quadboob. I'm slightly FOT, so the elastic strip reinforcing the top of the cup definitely wasn't helping.

On the plus side, the gore is among the narrowest I've tried, and it's the closest I've come to one that's narrow enough for me all the way down--most are too wide at the top and then WAY too wide at the bottom. Now if it would only tack...

The band feels like a 28 or tight 30. No complaints there. I'd say it's comparable to the Ewa Michalak 65 bands I've tried.

These are the thinnest straps I've had on a bra since I was maybe fourteen. They're half-adjustable and fully detachable, which is a nice and fairly uncommon touch. The materials are comfortable and the shape looks promising--I'm definitely interested in trying more half-padded styles and more Samanta, if I can crack their sizing.

(Sharing as an adventure in case there are others like me who especially enjoy reviews of less-common brands. One day I'm gonna fly to Poland and try on EVERYTHING.)

This bra is amazingly good looking!! I'm too sad it doesn't suit me. It is the right size, but the cut is not flattering on me.

    I ordered a A142 from Zulily but received a A122...

This is such a pretty bra and super comfortable. The fit would be perfect but the bra is about a cup size too small (I'm a 30GG for reference), the straps are not fully adjustable and the gore doesn't tack all the way.
