This bra was the last bra that I tried on today at my local specialty lingerie shop. It’s also the one that I was skeptical about fitting and feeling that it would be too shallow because of the molded foam cups. It’s also a huge surprise at how hard I have fallen for it.

My current shape tends to be tallish but shallow roots (so somewhat functionally short) that are narrow to average width, soft and malleable tissue that’s pendulous which leans towards being even to fob and center full and close set supported/splayed unsupported.

The cups are a single bit of foam that’s covered with a ... sort of geometric triangle print with the diagonal of the cups using a floral stretch lace. I’m not sure, but I think that the triangle lace might be stretchy as well as I was able to pull it back to see the foam cup. The lace goes up quite high to the straps and is designed with being seen in mind like a bralette. Adding to that, the colour of the bra that I tried on was an icy pale blue. The bra is extremely lightweight, so the bralette like lace and this particular colour in combination with it being so lightweight make it an ideal summer bra. The diagonal stretch lace helped me with my center full tissue stay a bit contained.

And now for the cons. The single biggest concern is the band. I did not measure this one but the band has 4 columns of hooks and I was comfortable with the second tightest/third ones in. I don’t think that they make it in a 60, though I have not checked the Chantelle equivalent to this bra. At $75, I’m not sure if it’s even worth it to get a half band of use even if I had a rixie clip or had the band altered. Maybe? I dunno. The other odd bit of the fit is the gore. It’s like it’s not a full fledged gore and the fabric is loose. It’s bizarre though not really the worst problem ever.

When I first looked at the bra, I was skeptical at the fit because it looked super shallow in the side profile, but it didn’t feel like it was in the short time I had it on. Perhaps the band and wires would have shifted south with a bit of movement and activity, but I don’t know. I almost feel like the way that the cup foam is constructed is a credit to the appearance of depth at the wire.

The other concern is whether or not the side tissue is contained enough. It felt fine as did the wire width.

All in all, despite the few fit flaws, I do really like it. I’m not sure if I will ever get it, but maybe if it’s on sale.

I think it looks overall great. I got two of them in beige and black thanks to jlcl119 who bought them on us eBay and shipped them to me :D the bra is definitely light to wear and if you find it on sale go for it!

I agree it looks lovely. The color is nice as well.

It’s pretty. I love how low the gore is.

      Thanks everyone!

Oh that's really pretty. It's reminiscent of the Natori feathers bra, but with more depth. Looks good on you.

It looks great. It very reminiscent of the natori feathers as wilderness said. I wish so much I could wear this type of bra. It’s so pretty and looks so comfortable.

    • I’m really surprised at the depth. I almost decided not to try it, but then I was like, why not? It probably won’t fit but it’s experience that I can share. And I got a nice surprise.

My shape: teardrop with maximum immediate projection/depth but moderate overall projection, tall shallow upper roots, very full and wide side roots, center-height, forward-facing, close-set, with firm tissue that pushes back.

I tried this bra on at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I just tried it on and did not buy it.

I have missed plunges so much! They're all I used to wear, even though the cup shape is usually very wrong for me, because of the gore height. This gore is so low. Center-full ladies or those with soft tissue beware of spilling into the middle, because it's very open. I love it!

It is so soft! I still might go ... back and purchase it, because it was so comfy, but I'd have to re-assess the support.

I really wish it came in one cup size larger and a band size down, because it's not quite wide enough and the wires are just slightly too narrow, but the band is loose enough on the tightest hook that I can't tell at all. I think there's enough immediate depth, even though it looks quite shallow in the photos, but I think if I were to take the band in it would be like some of the Natoris I tried in a 30, which essentially stretched the wires out of shape and made the cup too shallow. In this case, the wires might be wide enough, and are certainly flex-y enough, but it would probably make the cups too shallow.

The top edge is surprisingly soft with plenty of ease, which is a nice change from some of the more heartily-finished balconettes I've been trying, so although I think the cup is a size too small, this one doesn't cut in at all unless I really pull my shoulders back and stick my ribs out and try.

Straps were not too far apart, and adjusted long enough. They were also really soft!

I dunno, I had forgotten what it was like to not have to settle for a gore that was good enough, and combined with the softness I might have to go back and get it. Maybe I could like get a 70G and take it in at the hooks? I'll definitely be thinking about it!

The band is stretchy! Comfortable, but stretchy.

    • 1

So stretchy. It makes the 30 band potentially a problem, which is so sad

I'll write a full review later. For now, I want to say that my average projection boobs find this molded cup bra to have surprising projection. The cups are mercifully low coverage for a UK bra. The wire width is average, comparable to that of my 65F Ewa Michalak 3D bras. The gore is on the low side for a plunge. Not all plunges, I've found, have what I consider to be plunge gores.

In the same Nordstrom visit, I tried the Chantelle Festivite Plunge Bra, whose gore and coverage strongly resembles the Passionata Brooklyn's. They're owned by the same company. Nordstrom only had my 32E UK sister ... size in Festivite. The 32E Chantelle Festivite on the tightest hooks had slight cutting in at the center gore area and wider wires than the 30F UK Brooklyn. I hope to do a direct 30F to 30F comparison someday. The Festivite has noticeably lower coverage than, say, C Chic Plunge.

The projection and coverage of Passionata Brooklyn in 30F in the Light Nude color resemble those of my 65F Ewa Michalak 3D bras, though Ewa's cups are more horizontal and Brooklyn's are more vertical. Brooklyn doesn't have any bra band parts that scratch me. The scratchiness of Ewa Michalak hook and eye sections is a pet peeve. Brooklyn is much lower coverage than Freya Deco, btw.

I would like to thank hourglassy.com for its Curve coverage, which made me aware of Passionata's molded T-shirt bra, Brooklyn. I saw the very plunge-y gore, discovered my local Nordstrom had a few, and got to try it on in person.

Beware retailers' sizing. The Nordstrom associate didn't understand US versus UK sizing. She tried to hand me a 30DDD, which is equivalent to UK 30E. She also didn't know this Nordstrom carries L'Agent or has some sexy high waist briefs. Nordstrom bra staff knowledge is hit-or-miss. A sales associate may learn from a Bratabaser on occasion!
